"Look, we’ve got to do something, and we’re going to do now. We have a temporary truce forming to take care of PlasmaCore, so let’s storming deal with PlasmaCore.

“We should set up a circle around the building, below and above surface level too, we don’t want anyone to escape. Have a lookout for any high uses of magic in the area, we don’t want them to teleport out either.

“A guy on the ground knows the location of rooftop defences, that’s the only place we have knowledge about, so if we’re going to invade the building we should do it by the roof, and for the record, let’s not take any chances here, alright? They obviously have the power to wipe out troops, wipe out half of you space marines, who I’m told aren’t too easy to take down either, and top of that created this ‘eternal night’ thing. So when we invade, we’ll make sure we hit ‘em hard.”

"Agreed," Azrael said. "Do we leave the building intact?"

Lusk’s face darkened. “Not another nuke, if that’s what you were implying.”

He sighed and looked back up. “But, ideally, no. We erase that building and everything that storming came with it.” He paused.

“But our ground troops will be trying diplomacy first. If a reasonable conclusion can’t be reached, tear the place down, the Ghostbloods will aid you. In the mean time, let’s get our weapons warmed up.”

The Vortex screeched. It was still widening, and each step more things came out. This time it was a purple-red haze, with a full dragon within. The dragon shot fire and flew away. But the haze remained. Bellatrix stepped into it, and found her vision bleeding to purple. She could kill. She would kill. She was a god, invincible, immortal- the man pulled her out. She looked back, realizing what had just happened. She watched as it slowly spread, becoming invisible. But when she looked out the window, she could see faint purple-red glows in the distance.

“Join our ground forces,” he said quietly to her. “I hate to say it, but maybe attacking PlasmaCore isn’t the answer. Try to see if we can talk to them. And tell the Righthand what we’re doing. She might not like not having any representation up here.”

"As you wish. Please inform our forces, if possible I would like to have someone to have my back."

She quickly bowed to him and then inhaled stormlight, elsecalled away.

Zokora neared the PlasmaCore Building, carrying a white flag in her hand  to show that she wanted to talk. She felt bad in the strange fog, in the chaos, wished she could be somewhere else. This was her duty, her job, she had to do it.

So, a huge dragon just burst out of the Vortex building - do you not want to keep its location hidden anymore? I feel like this would be a pretty large giveaway.

Rial saw Deteca and just about jumped out of her skin. "Oh, um, hi!" She nervously clapped her hands. "Say." She walked over right in front of Deteca, blushing deeply. "Um, uh." She put both of her hands on Deteca's shoulders and stared her in the eyes, then finally managed to say it. "Can I take you out on a date sometime?"

How old is Rial? The answer will affect my post.

Deteca is thirteen years older than her. :P

I'm gonna say Deteca's bi, I guess? I honestly never considered her sexuality. Oh, maybe asexual too.

Deteca blinked. Rial was much younger than her, by a decade perhaps - she wasn't sure. Nice-looking enough, but she didn't really know Rial. Her eyes flickered from one shoulder to the other. "Well..." Could it hurt? Yes, she realized suddenly. I have enough of a liability with my parents. He threatened them; if I even so much as went on a date with this woman, he could target her too. "Maybe," Deteca said finally.

Jackal walked out of his last Black Crusade base and called his usual handler, though fully expecting the haunt to show up behind him at any moment, "I finished the job you gave me. Got anything else for me to do?" The base exploded, and a charred somewhat crushed space marine helmet flew out the door and got lodged in the dyring cement that Dusk had placed over the houses that his mercenaries had made.

@Ark1002 @I think I am here.

Walker ran into Amrbosia's house and said, "Oh, hey. I usually just grab people and run, but you're my freidn so, Demons, about an hour, you should leave, "Before runnign out the door.

@Ark1002

Dusk's transports were full, so they flew away. He'd saved as many people as he could, and repaired their walls. He put signs around the Alleycity to the Citadel, so people could walk, adn set up checkpoints to stop demons and help refugees. He'd done all he could to help people. Now he needed to help organize resistance. He unleashed a swarm of 1,000,000 investiture based drones that connected through a modified spanreed so he could talk through them to help people. He went to a safe distance.

What do these drones look like and how do they help people? I just ask because people might mistake them for PlasmaCore stuff.

“No,” the Haunt said, floating around, the chill in the air returning.

“But stay out of PlasmaCore’s affairs. There are forces at play which even you can’t fathom.”

And the Haunt’s invisible spren body shot up, shooting through the air and leaving Jackal. It continued to fly until it entered the thick black fog covering the city.

There were two things about the Haunt, that made him scary.

The first thing was that he could wrap fine particles around himself for a body. That meant dust. Snow. Occasionally raindrops. And definitely fog. As he sailed into the dark cloud he wrapped some of it around him, creating a mist spirit outline of him in the fog.

And the second was that he could change his size.

So the Haunt grew, the fog still wrapped its dark presence around the city but now there was a gargantuan figure made entirely of the fog standing ominously, almost as tall as nearby skyscrapers.

Tena stood up and opened the door. "Hello, more people. I don't recall texting you."

Stormbreaker shook his head.  He must have looked strange in his battle-armor with battle-scared men behind him.  "You didn't.  I located you with a satellite.  In the coming crisis I think we should stick together.  So I located you."  He paused, apparently getting something on his phone.

Good enough. Stay patient, I’m sending someone down who knows what to do.

Stormbreaker sent back:

Alright, here's the positions of the roof defenses.

And he uploaded a map of the roof.

Zokora sent Stormbreaker a quick message.

I'm close to PlasmaCore's headquarter. Carrying a white flag for the moment. Lusk tasked me to try to negotiate. What's your status?

Then she attached her coordinates as well. She doubted that PlasmaCore would be open for a negotiation, but then you never knew. Zokora made sure she had enough stormlight inhaled to be able to elsecall away, should the need arise and took the moment to contact Althea and send her a quick report. Now all she could do, was wait for an answer.

One of the captains pressed something, and a holographic ship flickered into shape above the display.

"Deployment by drop pod seems to be the best option," Azrael said. Small shapes shot off from the cruiser, landing in a rough circle around the PlasmaCore building. "Our ground forces can suppress their defenses until we have enough heavy support to force a breach." Larger, slower shapes emerged from the bays of the ship, landing just outside the city. Miniature tanks rolled from them, heading towards PlasmaCore.

Azrael looked at Lusk. "Any objections, assassin?"

A purple haze washed around Zokara, filling her with an eerie bloodlust. A deep roar sounded in the distance, then the haze was gone.

A shadowy human figure, face shifting between wolf, lion, axehound, and whitespine faces, approached her.

"Welcome." The voice was scratchy, like an old record with small scars.

Sparks flew from the marines' armor as the shrapnel shattered against it. One of them stumbled to the ground, a lump of metal sticking from his unprotected knee. The other raised his gun and fired. The boom of bolter fire echoed down the hallway, the ground around Damon exploding in a hail of bullets.

"Hello?" Cakuin asked, "Anybody there?" she walked around the woman and tapped her on one shoulder, then the other. "What a waste." Cakuin muttered, fidding with the chains. "So if I don't take your magical gun, what happens?"
