GLORIOUS ROLEPLAY...that I really need to write in...

Mahad flew over to the feather.

It is from a swan!

He exclaimed happily.

================

Flid simply left, in the midst of Rob explaining something and Shana made a mental note to not rely on him in a fight. He could at least have said something - anything. She didn't like impolite people and that was impolite.

"Just join Rob's team."

She told Sawyer and then looked over at Ben, speaking quietly.

"I think Rob might be their best fighter. His style is somehow similar to mine, accept a hit if you end up in a better position. The other two I don't know."

She turned towards the others, stepping a bit in front of Ben, to be able to intercept an attack directed at him.

"As that is settled, you want to start Rob?"

Rob nodded, taking a little stance of his own. He didn’t know who was in his team, but chances were they would probably leave him as well. A rock could only rely on itself for support.

Sucking in some stormlight he stepped back and liquefied a small of ground next him, scooping it up and moulding it into a crude sphere, solidifying it and throwing it fast, like a baseball to Shana. As it flew through the air he moulded and solidified another rock ball and through it towards Ben.

Shana inhaled, felt the stormlight and laughed. She smacked the first stone away, then rushed towards Rob, making sure she caught the second ball with her body. It hurt when it hit her shoulder and she gasped in pain, when she had to move the arm to make use of her weapon, but she didn't stop. Sparring with Rob was fun, because he didn't care that she was a girl, he didn't let her win. He'd pushed her way over her borders once today, this time it would end with him on the floor. She swung her staff at him, aiming for his left knee.

She’d just batted two of Rob’s rock attacks way, taken one to the body. Rob brought up his arms as stormlight coursed through his veins and she swung a staff at his knee. Breathing out Rob channeled cohesion all through the left side part of his trousers, strengthening it like he had strengthened those ripped parts of his sleeve. The staff hit his knee and bounced off.

Looking up he grabbed Shana by both of her shoulders and tried to fling her to the side, charging towards Ben.

Shana groaned when his fingers dug deep into her bruised shoulder and she opened her hand, let go of her staff. Instead she held on to his shirt and changed her stance, intended to use his own momentum against him, to throw him to the ground.

“Woah-oh,” Rob stumbled and hit the ground hard on his left side. He reached out with both hands and grabbed two handfuls of liquid rock, trying to throw them both towards Shana’s face and body and then trying to solidify them when they were on her.

Rob didn't loosen his grip on her and so she had to follow hus movement, until she ended up bent over him, her balance more or lost. When he finally loosened his grip she managed to straighten a bit, only to feel something wet hit her face and body. Partially obscuring her sight. It solidified and for a moment, she didn't grasp what it meant, until she tried to breathe and only a tiny amout of air entered her lungs. Panicking she lifted her hands and tried to pull it off, but it was stone, and it didn't move at all. She pulled, breaking of a piece of stone and then saw the ring. Just a reminder, to stay calm, to focus, but also to use what she had. She could do this, she was stronger than that, she was outside, far away from any water. Slickening her face she easily could pull the stone of her body and face and threw it to the ground, away from them.

"You're good. I love to spar with you."

She told him and then stepped to the side, moved between him and the shortest way to Ben again.

I hope that was what you were aiming at. It was what felt logical for me, with hardening it only after it had hit her.

Sawyer, relieved she still had her pole arm from the sparring room, sucked in stormlight. She grinned, becoming slick all over, with the exception of her hands of course. Seeing Ben, Sawyer launched forward, targeting his shins in an attempt to topple him.

That was exactly what I was trying to do. Thanks :)

Rob stood up slowly, picking up two handfuls of grass. “Thanks,” he said. Inside he was amazed. Two compliments in one day? The last time that had happened had been, it had been... years ago? It had been long.

His face, of course, remained perfectly still.

Holding the blades of grass in his hands, Rob focused and channeled Tension. It was a surge he was unfamiliar with, but using what stormlight was left in his body he made all of the individual grass blades hard and sharp, throwing them towards Shana before getting a sphere out to breath in the stormlight.

@Lunamor

Ben yelped and jumped backwards, attempting to dodge. He desperately wished for some sort of offensive surge.

I don’t think so. Investiture resists Investiture iirc

Then my gut feeling was right, thanks.

Shana observed him get to his feet, his face impassive as a stone. She couldn't understand at all, how you could be like that. Live would be boring without fun, joy. But then it fit him somehow.

She turned her head to see Sawyer rush Ben, who stumbled backwards, tried to evade the blow.

Rob threw some grass at her, and she inhaled more stormlight. Dodging wasn't an option with Ben behind her. Using abarasion to divert them, wouldn't work as well. The bladelike plants hit her arms, her chest, some staying, sticking out of her body, some drawing blood and falling to the ground.

Using the stormlight to move faster she rushed into the space Ben had opened between him and Sawyer, covering him as best as possible. Her staff had a useful reach, but Sawyer's polearm had a long reach as well. She tried to keep her eyes on both Sawyer and Rob, gripping her staff again with two hands, although she knew that splitting her attention would make it harder to block any of their blows.

Ben watched Shana take extremely painful looking hits for him, blocking everything coming his way with her body. He felt incredibly guilty. He was useless, only getting in her way. He tried rushing out from behind Shana at Sawyer, swinging his sword. Hopefully he would be able to distract Sawyer long enough for Shana to be able to focus on only one person at a time.

Sawyer cursed. She'd meant to catch him by surprise. Turning, she now found Ben's apparent girlfriend, whom she still didn't know the name of, standing between her and her target. About to attack the girl, Sawyer changed stance, only to find Ben rushing her with his sword. Ben was a Truthwatcher. That meant he had Progression and...what was it? ...Ilumination? Sawyer was pretty sure it was Illumination. What ideal was he? Darn it, no time. Falling to her knees, she brought her own weapon up to block Ben's swing.

As Ben’s weapon contacted with that of Sawyer’s, he felt a jarring sensation throughout his arms. He sucked in some extra Stormlight to distract him from the pain. As Ben ran past Sawyer, he realized something. Maybe he did have an offensive surge. He whole purpose in this battle was to distract the other team from Shana. Illusions would suit his purpose quite well. He readied a few and ran hard for the other side of the yard, hoping Sawyer would follow him.

"You all go on ahead" James said, "I think I'll just watch."

James sat down on the back porch, and started quietly humming to himself.

Well that was embarrassing James thought.

Once again, what you get for spying on people The Nightwatcher added, the sass in her voice unmistakeable. Spren couldn't be sassy, could they?

Flid manipulated the meatballs with cohesion. Spheres were easy enough to make, thanks to messing around with play doh when he was young. Hmm, I should ask Leona for some, Flid thought. It would be good practice without wasting stormlight.
