Shana smiled at Ben, looked over the way he stood, held his weapon. She reached out and brushed over his arm.

When she saw Rob form a stone into a circle she picked it up.

"Can I keep it?"

Ben smiled back at Shana and got goosebumps when she brushed his arm. He didn’t dare move, however, for fear he would mess up his stance.

Quick question- did we ever decide on an exact date, or just a general time?

On a different subject, I had a thought about separation between different magics. While our Radiants don't know a whole lot about other magics throughout the world, and likely most other Radiants don't either, that doesn't have to be the case for every group of Investiture users. It might be the case that Radiants and Voidbringers are just unable to leave the 'Roshar' area without losing their spren, and thus don't mix as much with the other magics, and elsewhere mixing is much more common.

Draug ran across the rooftops with stormlight-enhanced speed, Lashing himself nimbly from one to the next as he trailed the Voidbringer ahead. This one looked to be significantly more powerful than the one he had fought earlier, with carapace already apparent on his arms and legs, and his face beginning to change. He was trying hard not to tip him off that he was following; he doubted he'd be strong enough to face one this powerful in direct combat.

Instead, he would hide, and wait for the right moment. Then he would strike.
The Voidbringer began to slow as he approached the end of the rooftops, where the space opened out into an airport. At last, he stopped, and Draug did as well, ducking down to avoid being spotted by the red-eye.
The creature seemed to be having a conversation with someone on its phone. Draug considered getting closer to try and eavesdrop on what they were doing, but decided against it. In all likelihood, they would be speaking in their strange Voidbringer language, and he wouldn't be able to understand them anyways.
All of a sudden, Sae spoke in his mind. Do you want me to go and listen? I know the language.
Draug blinked in surprise. "Isn't that dangerous?" he whispered.
Sae laughed quietly. I can avoid a Voidbringer any day. Their spren is trapped within them; what can they do?
Draug exhaled, then nodded. A moment later, he saw Sae as a ribbon of blue light dart from him over towards the Voidbringer and his conversation.
----
The Voidbringer rolled his eyes as Sae approached. "For the last time, Shavim, I've got this covered."
Chatter on the phone.
He gave an exasperated sigh. "How hard can it be? I just go in, find her, and summon the Blade."
More chatter.
"So what if there's Radiants? They won't be able to spot my disguise any better than Miss Worldbringer. I might even be able to finish them off while I'm at it."
More chatter, for a longer time. The man's face darkened as the speaker spoke.
"This is a waste of time," he spat. "And every moment counts! I don't need help, Shavim. She could be getting away right now. Especially if she's with a Bondsmith!"
At that point, Sae zipped back to Draug. She'd heard enough.
You're going to want to hear this, she said seriously.
----
Draug was quiet for a moment after Sae finished her narration of the man's conversation. In the distance, he saw him turn around and start running in the opposite direction from the airport. As soon as the man was out of sight, he jumped up and Lashed himself in the direction of the airport.
Sae flew besides him. What are you doing? she called, anxious. You're not going to fight them, are you?
"Not unless I have to," replied Draug grimly.
Do you have to at all?
"You heard the red-eye. Doc's in there, and probably one or two of the others, as well."
They didn't mention him...
"Just how Bondsmiths do you think there are in Seattle?"
Sae sighed. I guess so. But couldn't you let him handle it? Sae sounded pleading. I don't want another of my Radiants to die...
Draug shook his head as he landed on the sidewalk and switched to running. " I need to protect these people, Sae. I failed before." He looked at her. "I will not fail again."
Sae said nothing, and neither did Draug. They ran and flew together in silence until they reached the baggage claim.
Draug slowed down as they entered the building. He scanned the crowds, looking for Doc, hoping that he wasn't too late.

Rob never understood the appeal of keeping things. Some people collected shells. Others coins. And now she wanted a rock he had moulded. “Sure,” Rob said, scratching his head. “Though I can make a better one, if you wanted to give that to Ben.”

Shana shook her head.

"It's perfect."

She slipped it on her finger, and then smiled. Rob was like this stone, if she took a part of that calm and patience, it could help her to concentrate better.

"Just a reminder."

Mahad flew over to the swan and then started to search for a feather.

Look there. It's a bit damaged, but it's long and white.

Leona looked around in the kitchen. Nobody was there. And also she was starving.

"What's for lunch?" she yelled.

Ooh, maybe it’s from a swan!

Glint flew over to the feather, dodging between ducks.

Maybe this is a good spot for Flid to day something? I think Rob was just about to explain Tension to him.

"Pasta with meatballs if everything goes right." said Edwin entering the kitchen. Ruby was just getting there too. "Unless you two had something else in mind?"

"Pasta sounds great to me," Ruby said. "Were you planning on making that? I can help."

"Mmm hmm. So, I can get the noodles started. You wanna work on the meatballs?"

I followed a few seconds behind James as he confronted the girl with red hair. She looked like she might be around my age, and didn't seem too happy that we were blocking her way. She also looked surprised when she saw the Stormlight flickering on his form; another point toward her Investiture not being Surgebinding or Voidbinding, though I supposed she could just be new.

Joy flitted closer to me, and I tensed. How would she react to a spren? "Listen, we don't want to hurt you, but we have people to take care of." I found my eyes catching on hers and tore them away. Stop staring, Cass, it doesn't matter how green they are. "Do you know what Investiture is?"

Is there an option to make a voidbringer?

You can if you want to. There's also a Skybreaker free if you want to be a Radiant.

Ooh, antagonist on the way!

"Sounds good." he turned to Leona. "The sauce would be great, thanks. That way we'll finish faster." he walked up to the fridge and started getting the ingredients for the meatballs.

Yeah. A lot of people on here haven't posted in a while.

Leona dragged out a massive pot and filled it with sand to soulcast. "What kind of sauce? Marinara? Cheese?"

"Tomato," Ruby said, filling the pot with water. "Make sure it has something garlic-y in it too."

"Sure. Hey, I don't think I've met you yet. I'm Flid."

Ruby smiled, walking over to where she had set down the spaghetti package. "I figured you were one of the new faces. I'm Ruby. What Order are you?"

Leona narrowed her eyes. "Alrighty then."

this is a waste of stormlight.

"It is not!"

fine

Leona closed her eyes and when she opened them, she was in shadesmar. She poked through the spheres and found one that corresponded to the sand.

"Hey, you know what would be great? If you were some nice, warm, marinara sauce."

no it said. sand is better

"But pasta sauce is so delicious. People will love you more this way."

hmmm. alright. fine.

She opened her eyes. The pot was filled with cold marinara. She flicked on the burner and grabbed a spoon to stir it.

"I'm a stoneward. Rob showed me how cohesion works so I've been working on that." Flid looked over to Leona and smiled. "Hi Leona."

Jamie took a step back, mind racing. She stoked her pewter, preparing for a fight when a second person walked up. She was around Jamie's age, with dark hair and features reminiscent of the glowing man's. Perhaps they were related.

"Listen, we don't want to hurt you, but we've got people to protect." she paused, "Do you know what Investiture is?"

"Listen," Jamie said, "I don't know who you are but" she cut off, the girl's statement registering, "Investiture? Like Allomancy? Yes, I definitely now what that is." her face broke into a grin, "I know what that is."

Wait a minute- they're at the exit. The, as previously stated, only exit. So Draug could not possibly have gotten into the building without running into them.

Oops.  Slight retcon...

Sae said nothing as they approached the building. She knew that Draug was right, of course. But she still didn't want him to get killed. She'd lost too many; she didn't know if she could take losing any more.

It was his birthday too, although he'd probably forgotten. Sae hadn't remembered either until she'd seen the date on one of the signs they'd passed. She still hadn't gotten a chance to tell him he was turning nineteen- although, knowing Draug, he probably wouldn't care that much. He was the kind of person who would give away presents on his birthday.

She loved that about him. But sometimes she wished he weren't so selfless.

----

Draug perked up as he spotted Doc and Cassie at the entrance. His pulse began to increase. In spite of what he'd said to Sae, he'd been hoping that the Bondsmith wouldn't be Doc. Seeing him made the threat feel realer, somehow. If he didn't do something, they would likely be killed.

He couldn't let that happen. Especially not to this pair. Without Doc, the whole operation would fall apart. And his stomach turned at the thought of the Voidbringer getting Cassie.

As he got closer, he realized that they were talking to someone else, a red-haired stranger wearing a hat with an unusual triangular symbol on it.

That must be 'Miss Worldbringer', he thought. The one the Voidbringer's after.

He had to warn them- and fast.

"Doc! Cassie!" he cried as he ran towards the trio, trying desperately to get their attention.

Technically, not only did Doc adopt her, but Cass was also adopted by her first parents. So I'm not sure about them looking alike. ;)

"Investiture? Like Allomancy? Yes, I definitely know what that is." She smiled.

I, however, frowned. "I'm not sure what Allomancy is." With a glance at Uncle James, I added, "It might be a type of Surge, but I haven't heard of that name for it, if so?"
