I mean, some people are into that sort of thing, but I feel like there’s something extra weird about it being a person who can only be seen by one of the people involved. It’s like your imaginary friend coming along to watch

Well Pattern is visible to everyone.

Probably they will argue the spren out of the room.

Though the Stormfather is more...omnipresent.

Ha! That's hilarious! I never even thought of that part of it, but you're completely right. And it's probably heaps more awkward when it's a spren like Pattern, who's so innocently curious.

I always get the image in my mind of Syl sitting on the top of the headboard alternately cheering and giving helpful advice.

I suspect Syl would be the most awkward to have around by far, going by what happens when the subject comes up in Oathbringer (see above). Pattern may or may not be less awkward now that Shallan's properly married and he doesn't have to go NO MATING on her and Adolin and the Stormfather's unlikely to have any sort of impact at all unless someone accidentially uses his name as an exclamation. Which... would actually be pretty funny but it's unlikely to be something Brandon would write, and he already used that joke in OB anyways.

I mean she did say she snuck under doors and watched other people.

@Bigmikey357 Kaladin says something similar.

I mean, I always wondered about it. Knights Radiant were prominent back when. Without the whole "marrying into power" piece (marriage as a package deal), just the fact that there were so many of them makes me think there must've been some talk about it amongst themselves.  Definitely talk among the spren, anyway. (I'm hilarious, I know.) Perhaps it was a..personal arrangement? Different from Radiant to Radiant? I think it might not just be the human uncomfortable, in some cases, but the spren; I have a hard time imagining Ivory, or any inkspren for that matter, taking spectacle in...delicate matters.

We don't know much about inkspren in general, but you're right that Ivory doesn't seem like the type to be interested in that sort of thing. Some spren probably find the whole thing distasteful. Even Syl calls it "messy".

And can u imagine how Windle reacts to a grown-up Lyft snarking her way through a romantic encounter? Hilarious and somewhat icky by turns.

With the Shalladin Marriage, or Dalinavani we just may get to find out in book 4.

What a massive Freudian slip.

Crap I meant Shadolin. You know, it took me 3 times looking at the post before I realized. And the funny thing is I support Shallan and Adolin over a Kaladin match.

Apparently your unconscious mind doesn't.

Oh I think Shallan Kaladin would be great narrative. It would be a beautiful disaster. But that's my opinion. Not trying to reignite the great Shipping War of SA.

Still can't get the mental image of Syl on a headboard playing cheerleader, and totally ruining the mood, out of my brain.

Been there since the sample chapters.

Yeah... I can imagine it's be damnation confusing for the gal he's with when Kal suddenly starts yelling at the headboard. Funny thing is, I imagine Syl'd have no idea why Kal was suddenly not into it. Probably, she'd say, "You don't criticize me for giving advice on the battlefield." (Oh, and even if he explained it to her, she'd keep doing it just for lols.)

The ability to make things "slick" would come in handy for some of the radiants and their partners. :-)

As for the spren, the radiant would just have to send them somewhere else for a certain amount of time.

And now I feel like whoever Kaladin was...with...would probably be more amused by Syl's enthusiasm, regardless of whether Syl is audible or not.

I think most people would rather not have invisible voyeurs.watching them in the sack. Especially if they were distracting their partner.

This is actually one of the only reasons I would ever want a sex scene written into one of Brandon's books. His books are very PG when it comes to sex, so actually seeing an intimate scene is unlikely. The lack of sex in his books is actually a major plus for me, because I often find sex scenes in fantasy to be completely irrelevant to the plot. That being said it would be interesting to see how some of the different magics work into the characters sex lives.

Mistborn spoilers since this is Stormlight.

Spoiler

If we're voting on who has the best sex powers I'm going with Mistborn. Tin, pewter, zinc, brass and bendally (for a really really quick quicky). Vin and Elend's sex life must have really been something..

Ooooh...small spren can probably wait outside the room.

The Stormfather though...he can hear Dalinar's thoughts and feel his emotions. I hope he lets Dalinar have his privacy.

I can't get over my mental image of the Stormfather as a silent observer...

I should clarify. As a Jasnadin person I could see Jasnah rolling her eyes. If it's Tarah, I'd imagine (from what little we know of here) a little more accepting and willing to go with the flow. Azure would be unfazed, and Shallan would - after getting over her embarrassment - join in and troll Kaladin.

Then imagine Pattern asking to do something again, so that he can get a statistically significant sample size.
Are we talking about a Radiant with a muggle or two Radiants?
