Shae blushed at the comment, but was also left confused. "I-I... is that a story from your own home world?" He bit his lip, not sure entirely about his feelings on the princess comment. He knew at the very least that he didn't hate it, since it came from Dan. He shook his head to clear it. "Nevermind... um... dog-hawk hunt? Sure... I guess it isn't any stranger than watching you eat something raw..." Which he'd already did and rationalized by the simple logic that since he was part dog and dogs ate raw meat, it must be one of the dog bits he'd inherited.

"Nah, it's a movie from earth. We should watch it sometime." He paused. "Okay, just watch me." He flew up to the tower of the Cathedral and set Shae down on top of it. "Turn on your tin and watch me." Dan took off into the sky and circled above the Complex, then winged over to the fields beyond and watched the ground with his enhanced eyes until he saw a flicker of movement. A rabbit. He positioned himself, then folded in his wings and dove for a minute at a high speed, opening his wings just soon enough to give him a decent amount of lift. He grabbed the rabbit and dug his claws into it, then transferred it to his mouth and landed on the ground in a roll, shaking the rabbit until he heard its spine break. He smiled in satisfaction through his mouthful of rabbit blood, then flew back up to the tower and held out the rabbit towards Shae.

Shae blinked, nodding and then doing as he'd been told. He watched as Dan flew, then dove and managed to perfectly catch himself, snatching a rabbit before killing it with a savage brutality. Then the man cam e back and offered him the rabbit. He didn't know exactly what to think about it all, but he knew that he had a wild beast of a man on his hands, and he wasn't sure who would end up taming who. He took the rabbit speechlessly, just staring at Dan. He felt awe and a kind of glory in having been allowed to watch what he'd seen- pride, perhaps, was a better word, but it wasn't quite amazed or impressed enough. Awe came closer, but still wasn't right. Regardless of what he'd felt, he knew he was blushing, and- despite the blood now on the man- part of him wanted to kiss him again. Then his mind reminded him of the many meanings of the words 'beast' and 'dog' when it came to men. He was just glad Dan wasn't part horse or rabbit- that would've made the already embarrassing thoughts that he viciously murdered in his head all the more embarrassing. "Wow..." It was about all he could get out at the moment.

"Yeah, you wouldn't believe how many times I fell on my face or broke a wing figuring out how to do that," Dan said, fondly remembering the days when he caught flying fish in the sea, occasionally falling into the water and becoming a swimming bird. "I'll admit, though, it's pretty awesome when you actually know how to do it right." He remembered that Shae couldn't eat meat raw, then blushed and took the rabbit back. "I'm sorry, that's just something Winged like to do for their boyfriends or girlfriends... catch them food. You can't eat this raw, though." He sighed, then sat down and dug into the rabbit's belly with his teeth, eating its still-hot guts, which his father had always said was the most nutritious part of an animal.

Shae blinked, watching him. "Well... Thank you." He made himself smile, slowly getting used to the bloody manner of consumption this race showed to lean towards, and found it wasn't as hard as he'd thought it'd be. "How long did it take you to figure that out?"

[Sherlock Holmes he/him]

“A few years,” Dan said, “and a lot of broken wings. My ma always said it’d me all the ladies. Which it never did, but it’s fun and cool, so I do it anyway. Also, it gets me food easily.” He looked up at Shae and smiled as he licked blood off of his face. “The look on your face...” He trailed off, realizing why Shae had that look on his face. “Oh, sorry, am I being disgusting? I just wanted to have breakfast... have you eaten yet?”

Shae blinked. "Oh... um, no? And you weren't being disgusting- I mean... I guess you were, but... I wasn't staring because of that..."He bit his lip, looking around. "S-so... would you go with me to the cafeteria? No getting drunk this time though..." 

[Sherlock Holmes he/him]

“Yeah,” Dan said, finished off the rabbit. He opened his mouth to ask Shae if he wanted the rest, but stopped himself and stood back up. He picked Shae up, and flew back down to the dorms, at the door nearest to the mess hall, and set Shae back down.

Shae looked up at him, raising an eyebrow. "Well... you sure are getting familiar, aren't you?" He chuckled, smiling. There might be a time when he didn't want anyone touching him, but right now wasn't then. He didn't really care. "I wonder what's for breakfast?"

Dan blushed at Shae’s first comment. “I don’t know, it’s just that, I mean, I carry you around all the time.” 

I wonder what’s for breakfast? “Only one way to find out, right?” Dan walked into the building.

Shae blushed. "True enough... I guess... not that I'm complaining." He followed Dan into the building, glad he hadn't had to tell Dan the actual reason behind why he'd been staring. He heard and felt his stomach gurgle as he smelled the food in the cafeteria, and immediately pondered his next project. He'd been inspired by... recent events... to try something new. He was going to do some research into the divine ones, and then he'd learn about their love-lives. That would make one stunning painting when he was finished...

“I’ll go sit down,” Dan said. “Get me something if you think I’ll like it.” He walked over and sat down at a table near a window.

Shae hesitated, looking at him. He'd talk to him once he had food, for now, he didn't mind- but he knew it would get on his nerves sooner rather than later, and he didn't want that. He grabbed food, and managed to swipe a few raw fish when no one was looking, then began heading back to where Dan was sitting, smiling and sitting across from him.

Dan eyed the raw fish Shae had. “Are those for me, or...?”

Shae snorted. "Oh, yes, I refused your raw rabbit on principle but plan on eating these perfectly raw fish while making you watch me do so. That sounds entirely like me." He rolled his eyes, holding one out. "You do like fish... don't you?" He hoped so, otherwise he actually would've to eat these fish raw, and that would be... less than preferable.

Dan snatched and fish and ate half of it in a bite. “Yes, I like raw fish. I actually thought rabbits and rats were disgusting when I first came to the mainland.” He ate the other half.

Shae blinked, then chuckled at the sight. "Got it... you like fish. I'll have to get them for you more often... I wonder if the high priest would allow us to go and visit the ocean for a few days sometime? That would be a sight I'd like to see." He smiled, eating his own food happily.

“That would be awesome,” Dan said. Going on a vacation would be awesome, but going here was more like a vacation than going back to the ocean for the billionth time. Admittedly, seeing Shae’s face when he realized how big the ocean was would be worth it.

It would be- especially if they went flying over the Ocean. Shae smiled, humming. "Alright... I'll see what I can do to earn that time off. Till then, can we talk about something? I'd rather now than later, just in case it actually becomes a problem later down the line." He'd seen that before, situations where paintings looked fine, but one mistake early on would destroy the entire piece later. Clay worked along the same idea. He was worried that this new relationship wouldn't work if they didn't address problems early on. He'd noticed Dan's ability to dominate a room before, and he'd seen how much the guy ordered him around. He didn't mind much, since he rarely was being told to do something he wouldn't normally be doing anyway, but he was wary about it.

“If you could live anywhere you wanted, where would you?” Dan asked Shae as he picked up another fish and ate it.

He blinked, smiling but humoring him. "Well... I don't know. Somewhere warm and beautiful, with whomever I end up married too... somewhere we both love and wouldn't mind staying for the rest of our lives... Why?" He smiled, curious.

“I was just wondering,” Dan said quietly.

He smiled, nodding and humming. That was actually a nice idea... "Alright. Now... A little bit ago, you told me to get you food. I mean, I don't mind getting you food, not at all, but... I prefer hearing the word please..." He looked down at his food. "I know you might not be used to it, and I don't mean to be mean, but... I know I don't respond well if people aren't thoughtful about that... you have enough of a dominant personality that it isn't natural for you to say please... and I'm scared that it'll ruin everything later..." He bit his lip, still looking down. He had stopped eating to talk about this.

Dan blinked a few times. “I don’t... uh, think that anyone has ever said that to me before. Thanks for telling me, I guess I didn’t realize I was doing that. Sorry.” He looked down at this hands. “I’m sorry about that. It’s rude of me. I just don’t think about this sort of thing. It happens.” He paused and looked back at Shae. “I’ll try not to. Tell me when I’m being a jerk, okay?”
