You can probably find them on coppermind.net, but here's what I can think of off the top of my head:

Ishar: God-King of Tukkar

Jezrien: the beggar Ahu. Super dead

Nale: Nale

Chana, Vedel, Pailiah: unknown

Battar: the Ardent Dova (maybe Pailiah?)

Ash and Taln: in Jasnah's custody

Kelek: unknown, but the nervous "diplomat" at Gavilar's party

There might be some errors in here but should be pretty close

That's Dovah. There's some conflicting information

As far as I'm aware Brandon has only confirmed paliah.

Mr T says Battar in book

1stly that is not necessarily to whom he was referring. I always thought he was referring to a secret gatherer.

2nd he is unreliable at best As a source of information.

3rd there is a WoB which unequivocally states that Paliah is an ardent in the palaeneum.

Which is why I said it the way I did. I tend to value what's said in the book higher than WoBs and I don't know what's gained by saying she's Battar when she's actually Pailiah

I concur, and besides those WoBs, Paliah and not Battar is in the heraldic symbols at the beginning of the chapters she appears or is discussed heavily in (Ch 33 of WoK and I-14 of WoR)

I've seen lots of posts about the Batter/Pailiah debate. Not sure where I fall on that one.

I had wondered if Adrotagia was possibly Vedel, but that seems like too many heralds in Kharbranth.

I have also wondered if Yesteel fled to Roshar and became a herald and that is what eventually brought Vasher, Nightblood, and Vivenna to Roshar since they were pursuing him.

Sadly, we never did get an image for that one, so we have to regard it as paraphrased. Also, when I asked Brandon about it, he said there have been several Heralds in proximity to T, but only one is influencing him now, and he wasn't willing to give a name.

A long time ago, where you said that Pailiah was the elderly ardent in Kharbranth that Shallan saw, is that right?

Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW]

Yes? If you say I said that, then I did.

Questioner 2 [PENDING REVIEW]

Does that mean it is still true?

Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW]

Let's just say there is a Herald in close proximity to Taravangian.

R'Shara [PENDING REVIEW]

It was in a signed book but we never got a picture of it.

Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW]

There is a Herald in close proximity to Taravangian. I'm not being sneaky about that.

R'Shara [PENDING REVIEW]

Is there more than one?

Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW]

There have been in the past, but there is only one that you would call influencing him right now. But there have been others in the past.

I think it is Battar. There is virtually no reason for Brandon to have Mr T lie about which of the unseen Heralds he has working for him. That WoB has always been uncertain (think it is from a book we never got a picture of) so it is possible that there is some misunderstanding around it. Accoording to in-book info Battar is in Kharbranth, and we dont know where Paliah is.

Also, Kalak being the nervous guy at the party is very likely, but not confirmed as far as I know.

Vedel = Maben (Mr. Ts maid)

There is only one Herald close to Mr T at the moment, so that excludes Dova being a Herald at all.

If there have been several heralds around Taravangian, then maybe Adrotagia = Vedel isn't completely far fetched after all, provided the Maben theory isn't confirmed of course.

Adrotagia has always struck me as a "more than meets the eye" character. She appears to be Mr T's most trusted advisor and other people follow her orders without question. She is currently with Mr T.  Killing people to collect the death rattles is rather the perfect twist of her earlier self who trained surgeons and had the divine attributes of loving and healing.

Adrotagia can't be a Herald. T remembers her being a kid, and them growing up and old together.

That is a definitly a problem. I remember them talking about their childhood.

So, near as I can see we have a WOB that Paliah has appeared as an Ardent in the Palinaeum, we have Mr.T's statement in the novels that he believes that Dova is Battar (and presumably figured it out on a Smart Day), and a currently unidentified theory that Mr.T's maid is Vedel.  I dont know about the Vedel thing, but since there is nothing to say that Palaih is actually influencing Mr T rather than simply being present in his nation (in her Namesake location), Id say those two can both be accurate.

Posted

Yeah, I never really understood why there was such controversy over Battar and Pailiah. Battar is Dova, Pailiah is that unnamed ardent in the Palanaeum.

I have an unfounded theory that Vedel is one of the Silent Gatherers, just because it would fit the "Heralds' madness involves the opposite of their Divine Attributes" idea.

I could get behind that, as the inversion of Loving and Healing, and if she's present but not actually influencing the diagram it wouldnt run afoul of the WOB.  Though Battar might also fit as the Inversion of Wisdom and Care, though I suppose a philosophic argument could be made on the difference between Care vs Caring.
