the advancement bars on his site are all 100%. He says he's going to start working on SA 4 next year. Anyone knows what he's planning to do in the meanwhile?

notice, it may also be tropical vacation, given how much money he must have made it's  a surprise he doesn't take more of those... i'm just curious

Probably a minor vacation, plus The Lost Metal, Skyward's sequel (I think it's going to be called Starfall) if he's not done with that yet, maybe even the Threnody novel that's been teased over and over.

Skyward 2 (current title Starsight) should be just about done. I don't think he has started on Skyward 3, and Secret Project is also pretty much done. He might be doing some outlining or pre-writing for Skyward 3, but given that he is on tour at the moment, he probably isn't doing a whole lot.

Been trying to find an update here but did Brandon decide to put off Wax and Wayne 4?

Even if he's started (which I don't think he has due to the lack of progress bar), there's no way that he's finishing it this year.  He's said that on Jan 1 he's going to drop everything and write Stormlight 4 until it's done.

He stated at the Seattle signing that Skyward 2 was done.

but... why do we have to wait an entire year if it is done already? I don't understand!!!!

Because each book goes through something like 8-10 revisions, literally, and it has to go through gamma readers and beta readers and editing (not necessarily all in that order), and once all of that is done then it has to go through the publisher to get the layout all figured out and then advanced copies made and then once it's ready they have to actually make all the thousands and thousands of physical copies and get them shipped to distributors so they can have them all ready to go once release day come.

Or was that question meant to be rhetorical? If so, just ignore me...

It also builds momentum. If it came out now it wouldn't be as exciting as a year from now.

yeah, I figured it still needed work even though it was "done"

He would also agree with your misspelling, as he is just learning to write.
