it's not a betrayal if he never trusted her in the first place. Plus, she probably didn't trust him in the first place. If she left, he'd leave her be. If she stayed, he'd kill her. He doesn't trust inklings.

The prejudice is real- but Cognition is already wary enough of Platypus to have backup plans for him.

Cognition isn't gonna try to fight him. You'll see eventually. But Cognition has been expecting platypus to kill her all the time, so she is very very wary of him.
