tigmades Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Perhaps this is a selfish thread, but of all the things I thought to post on here that I've thought about have already been covered (I've been reading different threads for HOURS, partly to make sure I'm not double posting fresh ideas, partly to see all the neat theories and things I've never thought to ask).... I was intending to start off with that, but repeating already existing threads isn't my style... and I've already answered all my different thoughts with those pre-existing threads. So instead, I will start off with a selfish post. Long story short, I show newfoundand dogs. I am expecting a landseer (white with black markings) in October. His name will be Szeth and I need to come up with a registered name (aka fancy show name). I have 15 characters left including spaces, and it must start with "C". Before I found 17 shards I thought "man, asking Brandon Sanderson fans would be where the BEST ideas come from. And then I so happened to accidentally stumble across 17 shards while doing as much research on Szeth as possible - his background, theories, etc. So here I am, making a post, asking his fans for help because you never know, he might be famous one day and then I can share my love of newfs AND have Brandon Sanderson. So far I have come up with: Child of Shinovar Code of Honor Clean Slate But nothing seems to pop out at me as "YES! This is the one!!" So if you're willing to play along, I'd love help brainstorming

I feel this kind of theme would be fitting. Szeth, Chaser of Honor. This is suitably cryptic, compatible with Szeth's story arc and describes how your dog will be chasing Honors when you show him at dog shows. 2. Szeth, Chained by Oaths. Central to Szeth's story arc and also compatible with a well trained dog. 3. Szeth, Chewer of Stick. Stick: I am stick. Dog Szeth: Chomp, chomp, chomp. Bits of Stick: ..... 4

I guess you could go Vanity Plate style, CRAFTD TRUTHLSS, but that seems contrived. Maybe "Crafted Weapon", since the Diagram actually speaks of Szeth as TheyarewiththeShinWemustfindoneCanwemaketouseaTruthless. Canwecraftaweapon. But I liked the ring of "Crafted Truthless". Juanaton he/him Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 (edited) Crushing Honor - 14 characters (including the space) Colorless Blade - 15 characters this one has multiple layers: he was the Assassin (blade) in White (colorless), he now carries a blade (Nightblood) that is another type of colorless (black), and it sounds like a Nalthis curse - yes, I know Szeth isn't from Nalthis...but Nightblood is and they are now linked Cull Lawless or Cull Lawful - as the assassin he was culling people and still wants/plans to cull the Shin of their leaders who condemned him as truthless...lawless if you want to describe what he does, lawful if you want to describe him & the way he acts...this one is a play off of Cull Obsidian from Infinity War Edited August 8, 2018 by Juanaton fix a typo, add a thought, add some more names 1

How about these ones: Szeth, Cool Shin Lover (if he is of the amorous persuasion and finds shins appealing... ) Szeth, Cute Lil Killer (oh look at those big eyes, looks like a child, wait put down the glowing knife kid. Hey bald kid, stop, stop). Even though you can't use this, you should probably knit this on a blanket for his doggy bed. "Szeth, Bone Shaman", cuz that's just adorable. The suspense is killing me, let us know if you find a name that works. 1
