Tena heard something from where she was, sitting on one the huge steel beams of a skyscraper in Elendel. A thumping through the ground, and a faint whooping sound. She turned her head to the sky and closed her eyes, feeling happy for whoever was having such fun someplace. Likely the Alleyvillage, she thought. Maybe I should go there and see what all the fuss is.

After transporting to the Cognitive Realm and then to the Alleyvillage, she asked one of the Homeless what was going on.

"Why, the Alleyverse has its own subforum now!" he exclaimed. Tena smiled. It had finally happened.

She dropped a coin and Steelpushed off of it, uncaring that Homeless's head turned towards her as she arced out of the Alleyvillage, looking for any one of her associates so that she could learn what was going on.

Hestoc sat alone from a tower, watching the celebrations. At last. A subforum. Not like I did anything to contribute.

Alas, though. The emergence of the subforum occurring before Voidus Prime had been lured back into the material fold, before the Seventeenth has been put back together.... this complicated the schedule he’d been holding in the back of his mind all this time. He may yet have to involve himself in the wars surely to come. But for now, he’d just do as he had - watch, judge, and wait.

Hellbent sat brooding. Why have the moderators not done this earlier? Is there a scheme? Maybe they are using this as an excuse to get there enemies all in one place. Either way, he was happy. All he needed know was a duel.

Death had finished his training. His new powers were... well, not as powerful as George, but George had millions of years of practice. As he left George's place he took his new weapon. A simple oak staff at first glance, but it was more. Much more. As he exited George's home dimension he landed on Nalthis, the air warming his old bones. It was time to do something. Something great. Something to help the Alleyverse survive.

Drako He’Stan, Master of the Salamanders space marines and founder of the Black Crusade, was not having a good day.

He glared at the holocaster before him, which stubbornly refused to come to life. For the fifth time, he started the ritual of awakening- he muttered a prayer to the Omnissiah, god of machine spirits, and gave the holocaster a solid pound with his armored fist.

The holocaster shuddered, but otherwise did nothing.

Drako sighed, standing up and sending a vox-call to the Adeptus Mechanicus station. He’d have to get a tech-priest to look at the frakking thing. They’d be able to coax the machine-spirit of the holocaster into compliance far better than Drako could.

Drako walked out of the poorly lit into the tunnel, glittering ice surrounding him. Months ago, during the Rhazien Crisis, the Salamanders had been offered sanctuary by Queen Elsa. Now, after serious excavation and repairs, this icy cavern beneath the Queen’s castle had become their de-facto base.

Now, the Solace Crisis was upon them, and Drako was left stumbling behind everyone else. Again.

His intelligence agents told him that Solace had just bonded with an extraordinarily powerful daemon- spren, actually. This universe didn’t have daemons, or so Librarian Lu’Man told him. The point was that Solace was now even more powerful.

Drako also knew that Solace had summoned all the Ghostbloods together, near the Worldspike. The Ghostbloods were already a powerful guild, even spread out. All of them in one place could be catastrophic- or, an opportunity.

No. Before Drako could strike, he needed allies. Fighting alone was a death sentence. His first duel with Rhazien had taught him that.

Lost in thought, Drako stepped into the main cavern. He gripped the crude railing, looking outward.

He saw a massive chamber, filled with scurrying space marines and humans. Imperial Knights lumbered around Rhino tanks being worked on by tech-priests. Thunderhawks hung from the ceiling, suspended by thick cables driven into the ice. The crack of bolters and heavier weapons rang throughout the cavern as squads drilled and trained.

The comm system in Drako’s helmet crackled, and a toneless voice told him that the holocaster had been persuaded to work. Drako thanked the Emperor for this small mercy, hurrying back to the projector room.

He stepped into the hastily-excavated room. Two tech-priests in green robes stepped aside, bowing to Drako. He took a few breaths, calming himself. He was about to do something huge, and it would probably get him killed. Any mere mortal would have been quaking with fear by now.

But Drako was a space marine, and he would know no fear. He thumbed the activation rune on the holocaster, and stared straight ahead.

——————————————

All across the AlleyVerse, hidden holo-projectors activated. In every town, headquarters, and alley, a flickering image of Drako burst into life, rising into the air.

“Homeless,” he said, “Doom is upon us.”

He paused, then reached for his helmet. “Solace has made his move. He has bonded with the soul of the World. The Ghostbloods stand ready to take everything. They will burn the AlleyVerse in their efforts to control it.”

Drako pulled off his helm. Glowing red eyes, set in a coal-black face, stared out at the watchers. “Solace,” he continued, “would have you believe that this is inevitable. Perhaps that he is inevitable. Indestructible. A god.

“But gods don’t bleed,” Drako said. “And he has bled.”

Drako was breathing hard now. “AlleyVerse, hear me. To all those who would fight against Solace- please. Come to Newcago, and stand with the Black Crusade. To the weak, we offer protection. To the strong, we offer our blades. And to the patriots- those who love the AlleyVerse with all their heart- we offer a cause. War with the Ghostbloods.”

The hologram by the Worldspike seemed to look down at the gathered Ghostbloods. “And Solace- I’m coming for you. My name is Drako He’Stan, of the Salamanders. I killed you once, and I will do it again.”

The holograms winked out, all across the AlleyVerse. Inside the small chamber under Newcago, Drako breathed out, suddenly exhausted. One of the tech-priests started clapping.

“I really hope that we broadcast it that time,” he said.

Drako’s message ended and the hologram cut off. Nights they’ve responded already. Li TaiRu pulled out a ruby broam with a green glow.

“Tiiyu you heard that right?”

“Yeah I did. time to move then?” The sphere responded, flickering as it spoke.

“Yes, I’m going to need you to spark Solace.”

“On it.” With that Tiiyu’s light became erratic, concentrated into tendrils inside the sphere like lighting in a bottle.

“Solace can you hear me? I’m on my way. I trust that you’ve done it, you’ve bonded The Alleyspren?”

This is what Tiiyu can do

Spoiler

Name: Tiiyu

Appearance: a perfect cut Ruby broam that for whatever reason glows green instead of red and the light fluctuates when ever Tiiyu speaks

Abilites: Is able “spark” other Ruby spheres into what amounts to walkie-talkies as long as Tiiyu is part of the connection and they have stormlight in them. If he ever goes dun he will effectively go to sleep unable to use any functions until infused with more stormlight. Can also a similar effect to Aon Ehe creating a wave of fire able in a barely controlled radius often in the shape of a cone doing so uses up nearly all of his stormlight often turning him dun cutting off any communications after that point.

Sparked spheres light looks like a more eclectic plasma lamp that acts up with any speakers voice.

Solace looked at one of the spheres in his hand that he was contemplating. He blinked. It took him a moment to realize it was speaking.

“Solace can you hear me? I’m on my way. I trust that you’ve done it, you’ve bonded The Alleyspren?” it said.

He hesitantly spoke. "TaiRu? Yes, I can hear you. I have indeed bonded the Alleyspren, or as some call it the Worldspren. Do you know how to find me? You are the only one that has responded to my request to gather."

@Grey Knight potato you may be a traitor, but you are A FREAKING AWESOME WRITER. I'll give you that much.

Also, is the Newcago court supposed to be a separate timeline than this, like the Alleyverse Bar?

Solace waited over the overlook for the rest of his members to arrive. He could not do this alone- well he could though he might succeed he would die in the process. he fired another flare just a precaution.

Veil alighted softly on the overlook, nodding a greeting to Solace.

"So what's the plan boss?" Veil asked with a lazy salute.

I'd say so, in order to avoid derailing that thread a fair bit.

Devaan and Rashan popped out on to the overlook.

"Hey guys." Devaan said "Rashan over here has some memory problems, but he seems to be ok with fighting with us, so I brought him along"

Devaan then looked to Drako He'Stan, he was a member of the black crusade, like Devaan was.

Duty or Friendship?

Solace’s voice came through Tiiyu the electric light inside him acting up with every word he spoke. ”TaiRu? Yes, I can hear you. I have indeed bonded the Alleyspren, or as some call it the Worldspren. Do you know how to find me? You are the only one that has responded to my request to gather."

“Great and don’t worry I saw the flare and I’m just about there. Once I’m there give me a list and I’ll spark any straglers.”

Li TaiRu came up onto the overlook and saw Veil, Devaan and Rashan were already there “Rashan it’s good to see you back on your feet again. I didn’t expect to you to be ready to fight again so soon.”

"I pretty much dragged him over here" Devaan said ti Li

"Good to see you. I'm stuck in a very irritating dilemma. Could you give me a hand Li?" Devaan whispered

Posted

"Hmmm everyone here is in pain. Evspecially that one." Veil said, pointing at Rashan. " Nothing to intense, but y'all need some healers and maybe an emotional counselor. The emotions and pain I'm feeling are REALLY weird."

Devaan had heard vaguely about Veil's dealing with the nightwatcher, and the bane he had to bear

"You sure you should be fighting in a battle like this?" Devaan asked Veil

Posted

"Probably not, but it's not like it'll kill me. My bane makes me feel the pain, but it's never life threatening. I'll probably just end up passing out." Veil responded.

“Sure assume it has something to do with Rashan. He not exactly fully healed is he?” Li TaiRu whispered back.

Rohan slipped into the group, his Lurker Cloak concealing him as he entered and quietly observed them.

"something happened to Rashan when he was in the cognitive realm. He's alive now, but he has amnesia, and can see into the three realms. do you know what this means? right now he can only see our physical, cognitive and spiritual selves, but if he hones this, trains it."

A memory flickered in Devaan's head

"Atium."

"What?"

"When an allomancer burned this metal called atium, which was only seen in use in my time, it's known as the mythical lost metal nowdays, the allomancer briefly peers into the spiritual realm to see the future of all things, what they are going to do next, and increases mental ability and reaction speed to cope with it, making them virtually unstoppable in a fight, save for one thing"

"and that is?"

"Atium burns incredibly quickly, and can be leeched away, additionally, if someone else is burning the metal, you see what they are going to do, and they see what you are going to do, which makes them change what they are going to do, which changes what you are going to do, so on, so forth. But Rashan wouldn't have those weaknesses as he can just look into the spiritual realm."

Death snapped his fingers and appeared beside Devaan. He compressed some Investiture into a fake voicebox for himself. 'So how you doing? Interested in helping me?'

Devaan jumped, and noticed Rashan looking at death curiously

"I'm conflicted about something, but what do you need in terms of help?" Devaan asked Death
