What if you just did it with a thread, public ledger? It would make payoffs harder to hide, but it would be easy to do. Have a person add interest every week or so, and every transfer of money requires a public OK from the recipient and the donor.

I like the idea of hidden money as long as people can't create money out of nothing because of it being hidden.

Chrysts sounds good to me.

We could create a bankers guild, similar to moderators, with a representative from each guild to verify the integrity of the bank. They can keep an excel sheet, where each week, on Monday lets say, 10% is added to their bank accounts.(interest) Everyone who requests will start out with 50 upon opening up their account. The only problem with that is trying to moniter dozens of people requesting and transferring funds and purchasing objects from each other. But if we had one person in charge of monitering all transactions within their own guild, then we could moniter more easily. Or have an impartial banker be placed into each guild's Transactions PM. that's another idea.

This idea seems best to me, just use google sheets or another spreadsheet document, each guild could have one, accessible to be viewed by anyone. That way, anyone can view how much money you have (so no cheating).  A lot of sheets can even automatically update. I made an example here. All the guild leaders would have to do is every week add 1 week to each member, and the setting will multiply that by 10 for your amount of money. We could add another row so that amount spent would be there to, so it would subtract that. The people would just have to notify guild leaders when they spend allyverse money (we still need a better name for it).

First thought I had was aluminium, but there are two problems with it:

1. It can be soulcast. This will probably be a problem for almost every currency, however.
2. Scadrial is on the brink of discovering how to extract it from bauxite, which will devalue it like crazy.

Thinking more about the soulcasting concern, I don't think we can use a metal or gemstone or something like that. Paper money might work, as it will likely contain too much intricate stuff for a Soulcaster to properly imitate. Other than that, I cannot really think of anything except stormlight, which would give a big advantage to those who live on Roshar.

Ralkalest cannot be soulcast. (Slight RoW spoiler below... not all that important I think but still a spoiler)

Spoiler

Also Ralkalest is Aluminum.

But there's still the Scadrial-getting-aluminum-from-Bauxite issue

Ralkelest being Aluminium has been WoB since about The Emperor's soul, and while you cannot Soulcast it you can Soulcast thing into it, which is the issue Leyrann was talking about. If we want to avoid the Soulcasting issue then the only known possibilities are Godmetals, Rosharan gemstones and investiture that cannot be stored in Nicrosilminds and are not Breaths
