"Ahh!" Granite exclaimed, disoriented. 

SoT smiled. "Hiya! We're glad you're back! I-"

Granite grabbed Rose's wrist. "We gotta go," he said, running away with her.

FT cleared his throat, "It seems you have a problem."

Jacob appeared in front of Granite, the odd smile still on his face.

Granite narrowed his eyes. "Are you a Narrator too?"

"No," said Jacob simply, writing down some notes.

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

"C'mon, Rose," Granite said, walking away. 

"Granite, we can't just up and leave."

"Yes," he growled. "We can." He tried to take her wrist again, but this time Rose refused to budge, shaking her head. 

"No," she said. "I wanna stay."

Jacob wrote down every word but did not say anything.

[Jaywalk he/him]

"So, what're we gonna do today?" Max asked.

"Experiment. Train." Jaywalk paused. "Create."

"Create?"

"I think you're close enough to mastering the void, Max. You can warp, you can attack, and you've developed the Seersight. It's time to put your training to use."

Jacob sighed once, then wrote something down on his clipboard, vanishing just as he had earlier.

"You wanna stay?" Granite said, growing angry. "Stay where? With who? Dad's dead. Mom abandon us. Jay is a liar. We hardly know Aunt Sophie, if she's even related to us at all. No one cares about us. No one."

A high, cold laugh filled the air, seeming to echo from every direction at once.

Rose tensed and Granite flared his metals.

The laugh began to become distorted, twisting in ways no voice should. Slowly, it faded to silence.

"What was that?" Rose whispered.

"Plot," SoT said, suddenly appearing. Both kids jumped. "Yeah, you should definitely be scared."

The grass began to turn brown and wither, as though it had spent days in a hot summer sun.

"Yikes!" SoT exclaimed. "This doesn't look good, kids." She teleported all three of them to a beach.

There was a party going on.

With loud disco music.

And, somehow, a disco ball.

It was really quite amazing. The sand was also made of graham cracker dust.

The waves were made of chocolate.

There were candy life savers bobbing on the waves.

Luna teleported to the beach because chocolate. She brought marshmallows.

Pre-toasted marshmallows.
