The children fell to the ground, perishing instantly. Both parents broke into tears.

"Man, that is your stinkin' fault for deciding that it was a good idea to make a home in my head. Don't you realize how bad that is?"

[Jaywalk he/him]

"We're sorry!" the mother sobbed. "It was all Harold's fault!"

"Mine?"

And just like that, they were divorced.

"Guys, chill. You're not even that developed of characters. Can't you see how your Author is controlling you?"

[Jaywalk he/him]

"I'm so broken," Harold said. "What do I do?"

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

"Well, first of all, use logic. And then just develop yourself. If you don't have a dive or a purpose you can't really do that, so find that first. And if you don't have that, then you might as well kill yourself because it means that you're just a puppet and your life never had meaning anyway."

[Jaywalk he/him]

"Harold! NO! YOU HAD SO MUCH TO LIVE FOR!"

Harold was all like "yeah ok" and then he killed himself. After he killed himself it turned out he was actually Lil' Cal all along.

"Actually, he didn't." SoT winked. "It's called Character Theory. Check it out sometime. Though... it might fry your brain, you being a character and all. There are whole books written on Ember. Big debate around her in the academic world. Which exists in TVG's mind, by the way if you didn't already pick up on that."

"I mean... it's just another Narrational plane. Though, you might call it an AU. See, I know these things. Unfortunately, no one else does so..." SoT gave a nervous laugh.

"Information should be free, should it not?" Jaywalk asked, stepping out of the void.

SoT shrugged. "I mean... TVG's only created a system. See, the thing is you are an Author, Jay. I am not. Because I have sibling Narrators. TVG was Star at one point and actually... well, okay, I'm getting sidetracked." She chuckled. "The point is, there are only so many people who even have the mental capacity to understand this stuff. Even my sisters don't get it. Ember is catching on though, which makes sense, considering the size of her mental footprint."

"That's fair." He raised a hand, and the void opened up, swirling around it. "We all have our specialties, I guess."

SoT grinned. "Show off."

He winked at her. “It’s another of my specialties.”

"Along with flirting, I see."

“Whatever you choose to perceive.”

"See, I read about you. And you're getting better. Good for you."

Jaywalk chuckled. “I remember my younger days...”

SoT raised an eyebrow. "No, no. I know how Author aging works. You're not even that old. I mean, you are to me - you've existed before I or any of my sisters ever did - but with relativity? Nope."

“It’s amazing how much someone can grow in such a short time. You’ve experienced it too; well, your sisters, mostly.”

SoT nodded. "True, true. I've always been this way, honestly. If people'd just let me talk... But nope, I'm left in the dust!"
