It's simple. You don't mess this up. You don't explain anything contrary to what I want her to believe. I'll let you use your better judgement.

I cannot take that deal. It is far too easy to break unintentionally.

I’ll be generous with it. I can reset her memory at any point. As long as you’re not being intentional, it should be fine.

"Ack!" He grabbed Eepy by her front claws to make sure she didn't get dislodged, then crouched, touching whatever had lifted him, looking down to see if it was alive.

He can see in the infrared spectrum from one eye, seeing heat signatures.

The platform was faintly warm. It seemed like some sort of shell, and was definitely alive- well, whatever was in it was.

"Hmmm, yes. Maybe that would help. Oh look! the compass started working" wink wink nudge nudge

oh lol sorry

It spun in circles.

Seiretta looked at it curiously.

". . . Is it supposed to do that?"

Rebus held up a remote, with a bright red button. “I’ll give you one post to return, or I’ll consider you to have chosen the third option.”

But Tam did not come back.

Nor would she ever. At least not for a while, and not by her choice.

It wasn't her decision to leave in the first place. She wasn't even aware that she'd stopped existing as she had been.

So leave her be.

Scorch smashes a window.

Taeidin winces at the noise.

"I suppose that will work."

The window is on the second story. He looks around for a way to get up to it.

"Ah guess that's a way ta do that." Cep walks over to a nearby tree, quickly climbs it, and walks along a branch that hangs over the roof. He quietly drops down, then crouches down, grabs the roof, and swings down through the window, then poked his head out at Taeidin. "Ah think tha's the fastest way."

So unless my intention is to explain things contrary to your desires, I may act as I wish? I would accept that deal.

Rebus was… disappointed. Tam had a lot of potential, and he’d invested effort that was now wasted. Without Tam, Bat and even him might suffer the same fate if he did not change the course of the plot. But he would survive; another character would come along soon enough. And then he could truly be the ultimate villain.

So would you rather run a different character, or are you trying to cut off your involvement in general?

Precisely.

Taeidin follows the path Cep took, albeit somewhat more clumsily.

Should I describe the inside?

Very well. In exchange for not intentionally explaining things contrary to your wishes, I shall accept the return of my knowledge of posts.
Rebus - the shell he had left behind - looked to see what had happened to Bat, both with the teleportation beacon and with Narration.

Excellent.

Symbol had gone through several potential methods of transportation and Narrated a giant, well-behaved bird.

-

Bat was rather annoyed. Nobody would let him into the interesting places. The tour had skipped over the most important buildings, and now he was stuck in a hotel room trying to figure out what to do next.

They are in a long, empty hallway with a few doors to either side. It is dimly lit from overhead, and the shards of broken window lay across the wooden floor. The walls are bare, and it smells somewhat musty. People can be heard talking faintly, but the direction is undiscernible.

Taeidin looks around.

"What should we do now?" he asks, keeping his voice low.

Rebus felt his perception of the world return, though not nearly to the level it would have been before. That was likely for the best. Knowing that Symbol was still distressed, he didn’t say anything as he helped her onto the bird.
Rebus could show up. He considered it, weighing the benefits and drawbacks.

Hmm, maybe I should give one of them a different name. Though I guess that’s also confusing.

something was coming, something big, soon, very soon

Rebus paid whatever it was some tangential attention. Perhaps it would be useful.

It was a castle, a castle rising out of the ground p, bound to cause trouble and perhaps war

The evil sandcastle ghost was very excited.
Rebus, who was also interested in causing trouble and perhaps war, teleported in front of the castle.

The castle wasn’t there yet, it would be later
