it was The Scribe.

Both times? Would this be a note, or is it in person?
“Oh, hello, Scribe. Good to see you.”

She nodded, incredibly satisfied. “It’s perfect. Absolutely perfect. I will begin to draft the laws.”

Rebus smiles broadly, glad he’s created a masterpiece.

A voice. Both times. (Soory)

“I really prefer using my herald for extended conversation. Unless it’s super secretive.”

Sain pops up there. He waves, grinning. “Scribe says good to see you too.”

“We’ll add Nullite to the walls,” she said. “I have Nullite. I’ve been mining it. On second thought, maybe just to my study— and yours, as well. I don’t know how much I can spare.”

He nods. “That sounds good - I can shield the rest with Abstract’s automatic counter-Narration. I didn’t know you mine Nullite, actually. I thought you had to make it.”

Sain grins. “You know, The Scribe could help fuel the counter Narration with Mind.”

I think you'd like it.

I think Glass but also Dragonheir idk they feel kinda public

The snakes interestedly headed in that direction.

Yeah they're pretty much free range for anyone.

One of them is smarter than the others, however, and curls around Bat's leg before falling asleep again.

"He usually refrains from using it - something to do with Bacon the Tax Collector - but he does use it to stop people from stealing it. He also asks for at least an office - some sort of embassy. The defenses are done, and you two are automatically registered into them as people to let through."

@Halcyon The Only, because decisions.
“The goal of this is to be a sort of neutral area people can visit and live, so an office or room is standard, I believe. I thank you and the Scribe for your help - we’ll definitely give you a VIP room.”

"The Scribe will keep a form, then, that allows people to apply for Narration permissions, if you wish that. He also formally promises not to exploit his role in the security. He says that he can add a second layer to security to protect off-limit areas, but that ventures into godmoddy territory, so he says he probably won't do it."

@Thee insane

The setting is a small town street, and small hills slope down from the street creating a small trenches. There in one of the trenches, is a small, roughed up, makeshift tent.

Ashton wakes up with a jump to alarms and whistles from cops in the streets. He had fallen asleep in the ditches between the woods and the road after a long time of running from the police, the night before. "Damn!" He curses under his breath, a look of panic on his face, as he jumps up, gets dressed, and throws on his backpack. He's about to leave the tent as he suddenly scowls, shakes his head in frustration, and turns around and back in the tent. "Get up squirt!" He says in a quiet shout through his teeth, as he kicks a body curled up in an old sleeping bag. "Get up Atlas! If you don't, the Cops'll come and take you away!" He seems very urgent.

sorry it took so long.

“That sounds good, actually, not god-mod-y at all. Narration of the building itself or within any off-limit zones can be suppressed, while Narrators who apply can use their powers in other ways. If they attack people, we’ll shut them down, of course.”

"The nature of his blocks is what he worries about - Madness took this power too far, uncaring of the consequences, and it resulted in Bacon the Tax Collector. So, he's hesitant with interfering too far - but is just fine to prevent intrusive Narration."

The power is essentially using their own brain to stop their actions. A more derogatory term for Mind - the Notblade that powers this - is Parasite.

Ashton scoffs. "Just be glad you're not out there alone, squirt." He grabs Atlas by the collar of her shirt shoving her out of the tent lightly, causing her bag to fall to the floor of the tent. "The real world ain't so kind. Without me, you'd probably be dead." Though he seems to be hard on Atlas, you can see that underneath it all he really does care about the safety of her, as he glances inside the tent and grabs Atlas' fallen bag. He rolls his eyes to further put up a facade as he slings the straps of the bag over Atlas' shoulders. He kneels down to get to her level, looking her right in the eyes. "Trust me squirt, with your awareness, you'd be dead a thousand times over." He playfully punches Atlas in the shoulder with the smallest hint of a smile, as he gets up. "Come on squirt, Help me put up the tent." He nods towards the large canvas sheet that's strung between several branches to create an enclosure. It has several holes and moldy spots, clearly taken from some sort of dumpster to be used as the temporary shelter they sleep in.

she huffs. "Yeah I survived fine before you took me in." She says defensively. She helps him take the tent down.

To be honest, he was kind of excited to try it.

He sighed at the snake and eyed it. He had the strange sudden urge to pick it up or pet it or something.

“I hesitate to add too much control, because everything I’ve actually done with this power so far is prevent others from using it, but I will add basic, secure controls. Perhaps levels of access as well.”

Tam watched the wedding for a moment before realizing nothing was happening yet.

You wanna try it now? she asked Bat.

Feather did not like the snake. He glared at it as it slept.

"Yes. Perfect. Perhaps a control room as well, with keys to access different features. No self-destruct buttons, please."

Heheh

She flew back down and hovered in front of him.

She Narrated him into a hummingbird with a green body and brown wings, prepared to turn him back if something went wrong.

The snake was a whole lot bigger now. He nervously hopped over the snake and began the process of figuring out his flight.

He actually got into the air rather quickly. This feels cool! He flew in a little circle. Birdbirdbirdbirdbird.

So . . . you're not freaked out or anything?
