He nodded and handed her a cup of tea (he'd borrowed the cup from Cricket's cupboards. "It should help you get your strength back. There's some calming in there, too, and more painkillers." He knelt down next to his mess of things and swept everything back into the bag besides a small dish towel, a pair of gloves, and fuzzy socks.

She removed her hands from the water carefully- she could mostly feel them now, though they were still freezing- then took the cup gratefully and sipped a little.

"Ehem."

"Erm... hello?"

Bat set the gloves on the small table next to her. "How are your feet feeling?"

"Oh, wonderful," he said. "How do I get out of here?"

"I don't know! How do you?"

". . . No. But I do! What's your name?"

"Ah, so you also wished to not freeze to death. Intelligent." Love's water started boiling, and he dumped some tea leaves into it. "Oh, I just realized that I haven't asked any of your names. Tam is the one who's almost frozen, Cricket is the one who pointed that magical dagger at me, but who are you?"

"Oh, you use numbers don't you? Yes, their identifier. Like you go by 656, and I go by Subversion."

656 still looked unsure. "Well... They are the hero, are they not?"

The traveler frowns back. "It's a bit complicated."

Moni approached the mouth of the cave. "Hey Kion. Glad to see you're awake."
@Dragonheir

Nogard nodded. "After the trial, then?"

26 minutes ago, Dragonheir said:

He nods. “The Dreamsmith trial apparently demands your full soul be present. So I’ve had to recall it from my clones. I’ll be back - consider everything I’ve said.”

Rebus smiles. “Of course I’ll share my supplies. How does your procedure work?” He gathers his other fundamental metals while listening carefully to the explanation.
The Rebus clone nods. “Thank you.” Then he cuts the connection, at least for now.

The Rebus clone nods. “That has been found already. I have a transcript. Do I need to find the actual paper?” He’s suspecting the wind isn’t actually affiliated with Onyx, but perhaps he could help regardless.

Kion shifts slightly. “I would say the same, but if you’re awake I didn’t need to be.”

"Find it," the wind insisted.

"Um..." He debated lying, but, really, what was the snake going to do with his name? "Toby. What's yours?"

"Vyz! I think I was named after someone else, but he's never here, so . . . What're you doing in the desert?"

"I don't know. What're you doing in the desert? Looking for rolling pins?"

“Is it not a riddle?”

He grinned. “So you can feel them! Good.” He knelt down and lifted her feet out of the water and onto the dish towel.

"Something like a snake who wants a rolling pin?"

1 minute ago, Through The Living Glass said:

"No, I was looking to see if you had a rolling pin. Which you don't. So . . ."

He looked to Lady Bug.

"Do you have a rolling pin?"

"Why does he want rolling pins so bad?" Toby asked Lady Bug.

Lady Bug seemed perplexed by this, and sat down on the sand to think. She looked up. “Is that your defining quest?”

The Rebus clone raises an eyebrow. “Who has it? Regardless, summoning the Witherlord will be detrimental to my long term goals. I’ve heard what happened to the Luxsprites.”

She watched him do it.

It felt . . . kind of weird to have someone caring for her. Even if she had just almost died . . .

Oh, gosh, she was going to start crying again if she thought about that for much longer.

She looked away from Bat and tried to find something else to focus on.

He dried her feet off and put on the socks. “Let me know when you feel well enough to stand and change out of those clothes. I’m sure Cricket has something around here.” He tilted his head, concern shining from his eyes. “Tam… how are you… doing?”

“Woulf your existence have meaning if you were to find a rolling pin?”

“Hmm,” she muttered. “Of course, of course. There are people on the other side of that sand dune.” She pointed.

"Thank you." Maybe these people could help him. If not, well, Toby was probably cooked.

A group came over the sand dune, all looking tired. Their wagons moved on their own, but very slowly. The people weren’t riding them, even though there appeared to be plenty of room.
