SoT shuddered, pulled it out, and stepped on it.

It screamed out in pain, but did not die.

And SoT was barefoot, so it felt gross. She stepped away from it. "Disgusting..."

“You MONSTER!” it screeched at her.

"Well, that's not very nice. Show respect to your betters, you..." She giggled. "You worm."

“DO YOU DARE RUIN MY LIFE JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN? DO YOU REALIZE HOW MUCH EMOTIONAL TRAUMA THIS WILL CAUSE ME?!” the worm screamed.

(I think I’m starting to get an idea of how SoT and Star feel...)

Truthless wondered where SoT’s sudden lack of sympathy had come from.... this smelled of character development and arcs.

The worm wriggled its broken body closer to SoT, trying to bite her toes.

SoT put down the forcefield. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry, geez. You just freaked me out, okay?"

This was a very logical reaction, as it had been trying to bite her toes and people generally like their toes.

Another worm came out of SoT's other ear. "Harold! Dinner's ready!"

SoT pulled out the worm, holding it away from her and dropped it onto the floor next to the other one, squirming as she did so. "Stop invading my body! That's not nice!"
