But you've seen it. I'm broken, worthless, and outdated. They'll never accept me. And, storm it, I can never stop myself from fighting.

Narrator Pheonix shook his head. Don't believe that, he said loyally. If you have problems, fix them. I know you can.

Quietly in the shadows, a figured watched. Small, not much to reckoned with, someone just enjoying the fight. They moved quickly, just a shadow on the wind, darting this way and that. They came to rest next to the shattered light, the broken one, shard of light. That was what their people called her. It pushed itself, hard, forcing even a small portion of itself into the light, and a tiny voice croaked out, “You may be broken, hated and abandoned. But so is everyone. How you act afterward is what defines how strong you really are.” With those final words, they shredded into nothingness, the light of reality far to strong for them.

Narrator Pheonix shook his head. "You've dwelt on that for long enough, Star." There was pain in his voice. "Can't you move on? Let go?"

"In the words of a wise man: 'Accept the pain, but don't accept that you deserved it.' You've made mistakes. But we all have made mistakes! At least you're still a Narrator."

Another figure leaked out from the shadows, from the blackness of these very bolded words, and then another and another, the darkness slowly bleeding from the words  themselves

they fight hard, their souls slowly burning from the shadows, in the calm before the storm, they whisper, We need you, no matter who you are. You protect us, give us strength. Without narrators like you, we are but words on page, no life given. You gave us that, and don’t let your self forget it. Then they gather into one large mass, writhing chaos, unreadable, unknowable, until three simple words form:

WE FORGIVE YOU

Then they fade back to the black from whence they came.

Star wrapped her arms around Pheonix, weeping. Her crown melted away, and her Shardplate was replaced by a purple blouse.

Pheonix embraced her back, holding her tightly. "We believe in you, Star," he whispered into her ear. "I believe in you."

Star didn't want to face the rest of them. She had done terrible things. But the warmth she felt now could almost make her believe it was okay. "Thank you so much," she said.

Truthless read through the thread, and began to celebrate. Star had (probably) began her path to former glory, to become a narrator everyone knew and loved, the beloved director that kept things running in the land of The Longest Thread, and not the tyrannical leader that she had evolved into.

Holy cow! That was really cool! Great writing, I'm glad that some measure of order has been restored to TLT, if there was ever such a thing to begin with.:D

Not for long, buddy.

Time in the void resumed. “Star,” Jaywalk said. “It’s time to finish what we started.”

“I know,” he said. “But it’s time I fixed what I caused.”

He reached out his arms, and then his mind, splitting the void in two
