Pikachu turned and faced the Venusaur, who was towering over his small body. Harnessing the electric reserves he controlled, he begun an attack, shouting, "Pika... CHUUUUUUUUU!"

Sparks of electricity rushed out of his red cheeks, and focused it toward the Venusaur, creating his staple attack - the Thunderbolt.

But this thunderbolt wasn't normal at all. In fact, it was 100,000 times more powerful. All that energy was pointed in one direction, just about to strike the grass and poison Pokemon. 

Nintendo is gonna sue us all.

Kiornight paused, listening to the hiss of the impact's aftermath. Another strange force at play on the island; another power here to interfere. The logical decision would be to continue onwards, to the pool. The sensible decision would be to at least interact with someone (well, he'd tried with the person in the tree earlier). Too many beings were around, confusing and changing. He could at least try to understand what they were.

Cursing internally, Kiornight spun and searched over the branches until he found the tree people from earlier, talking to another creaking entity that glowed with a yellow light. He settled atop a nearby tree's crown and listened. 

“I sense your confusion, and your presence. I would that you join us.”

Slowly, he crept down from the branches, leaving a mass of flickering fireflies covering the tree trunks. He took the opportunity to better examine the two tree people and ominously glowing entity.

The Venusaur fired its own attack, a beam similar to solar beam, but made from darkness instead of sunlight. Oddly, it did not attempt to clash with Pikachu’s thunderbolt, but instead targeted the tree behind which the young boy stood.

Venusaur-possessed used Shadow Beam!

It’s super effective!

Young boy Eric is knocked out!

 

Pikachu used thunderbolt!

It’s not very effective…

A critical hit!

Venusaur-possessed is knocked out!

Pikachu gained 3870 exp. points.

 

Both attacks landed, the Venusaur’s attack plowing through the tree and clipping the boy, sending him to the ground with a cry of pain.

Pikachu’s thunderbolt landed as well, electrocuting the Venusaur and knocking it into the air. It hit the ground on its back with a crash and a burst of dark mist, and lay there unmoving.

Kingslayer stepped up to the boy, tapping the flat of the blade to his wounded side. Restorative energy flowed from the blade, easing the pain and beginning to heal the boy.

”Sorry. Haven’t picked up much healing—it’s a bit difficult to do so, actually.”

Eric's eyes snapped open, a gasp of pain escaping his lips. His shoulder had taken the brunt of the damage, with some fairly serious burns covering it. The boy squeezed his eyes shut, face pale as Kingslayer slowly healed his wounds.

Pikachu was satisfied with his work attacking Venusaur. But, he was pondering what had happened to that boy. Glancing back at the tree, he witnessed Kingslayer's efforts into healing the boy - named Eric. That blade wasn't useless after all...

Trudging over toward the tree, Pikachu stood before Eric and Kingslayer, while not paying attention to the knocked out Venusaur - he'd deal with him later, if at all. "Hello Kingslayer," Pikachu said, clearly impressed with his feats at healing Eric. "I was wrong about you and your blade. You prove to be an impressive human - part of a handful in your species. I still don't trust you enough to accept your offer, but I would like us to explore the rest of Kanto together, for now." (In Pikachu language)

Transitioning into English, Pikachu added, "As for Eric, he may join us, although I'm not sure about his perception of me."

Notblades are something specific to me—they were an attempt for a villain (Madness) to create mock plotblades. 

Agony, btw, can only sense sources of pain/minds. Not read them.

Narrators (some of them) do so already, though… The blade could grant Narration, though.

Speaking of Plotblades, I was wondering I could join with my character Abmrose Carullehee wielding the Plotblade of Rumour. It would kinda like the Plotblade picks random unimportant people who then spread a rumour, depending on what the wielder wants. And knowing TLT it could be like 'reality is affected by the masses' (or The Will of the Many by James Islington) and make minor changes to the world. Nothing drastic but like 'this is a bad place. do not go here.' For example, I would do a Rumour like  "...the sign of the wandering badger is a good inn..." with the place being an inn.

"Hey, you alright?" Pikachu wondered, concerned about the boy's health. "I know this isn't the best time for you, but would you like to join me on my journeys throughout Kanto?"

He patiently waited for an answer.

The Pageturner sat at his desk.

Typewriter in front of him, he was slowly typing out the contents of some story.

He looked out the window, pondering something.

Out the window, was a void.

The Pateturner lived in a house floating in the infinite void.

And there, he pondered how to introduce himself.

He lived in what he called The Crossroads. The intersection between the world of words and the world of numbers.

Some in the world of words knew, and when I say knew, I mean truly, deeply understood the existence of the world of numbers. But those in the world of numbers thought the world of words to be but a fleeting dream.

The Pageturner was but a messenger. He sent the actions from the world of words into the minds of those from the world of numbers. In return, the world of numbers gave reality to the world of words.

Those who knew of the world of numbers were known as Narrators.

And all the Narrators knew of the Pageturner.

Consciously or not, they knew of him.

And so, the Pageturner continued to write away, content in his first appearance into the world of words.

Maybe the world of numbers would take note.
