Rebus and Malevolence agreed to compete with each other, finding a person/group to villainize. Inkwell, Fog, Ribbon and that group were who they decided on.

Shoot you guys are basically hunting deer in a pen at this point 😅

Inkwell don’t got a chance

anywho what happened to the onlookers on that brawl when i@9 disappeared? It’s like everyone went different places and then those are still there drinking tea or smt

Huh. Well . . . I s'pose I can't bond with anyone unwillingly . . .

Probably, at least.

She wandered over to Malevolence and placed a smokey tendril on his armor.

... How do you feel?

Interesting. I had thought you would see reality as terrible and my goals as admirable, now that your transformation is complete.

No abilities to create things from chaotic light or manipulate reality (which is made of Chaotic Light, hence why Chaotic Light aligned Narrators can control it), but able to corrupt/destroy reality (Which could be similar to manipulating it in effect), manipulate Mordite (although she's still be vulnerable to it), and create chaotic-dark constructs (although that could be draining outside of the Void between worlds). She would also gain an aversion to reality (the Void is much nicer) and light (for thematic reasons, although she's far far too powerful to be destroyed by simple light). With a bond, her powers get stronger, since she's insulated from the hateful influence of reality. Whoever she bonds will inevitably be corrupted, eventually becoming a withergeist themselves.

Malevolence couldn't help but smile at the evilness of that particular rule. No explanation of the Plotblade HQ's location? Necessitating hand-delivery from those trapped in a duel to the death? Truly, that was a gem of bureaucratic evil. "Perhaps I will do so, after you are defeated. Still, I would like some assurance that after I defeat this form, I will be able to claim my prize."

Malevolence considered his next move carefully. This new form of the Guardian seemed very fast, and very destructive. His armor would be essential, likely.

The armor felt comfortingly dark, but controlled, channeled. It would resist her influence, though how strongly she could not tell without attempting to corrupt it.

"Once one completes the challenge, they will be granted the blade." Both heads stated in unison.

Is Ribbon "bonded" to Fog?

How dumb of an idea is it to allomantically burn something like Nullite or Prismite? If you found some Connection magic that allowed you to safely burn it as an allomantic metal, that is.

they could be classified as God Metals and as TLT is technically in the Cosmere, yes.

He wasn't wrong. She did feel a bit more . . . disdain, for the Thread.

Not much has changed.

Malevolence smiled. And you call me evil? Even I must admit that I find reality comforting compared to the cold reaches of the Void.

She wrapped around a section and pushed the corruption into it, experimenting with how much she would need to truly change it.

The Nullite resisted fiercely, requiring a significant expenditure of energy, but began to be corrupted, ever so slowly.

Omen also knew all about chaos. The Dreamsmith had told him of it, days before plot became commonplace. The Dreamsmith seemed to find those days nostalgic, but Omen had always thought they sounded awful. "Would you please listen? The Thread could be destroyed! You and everyone you know would be doomed!"

I would say no. Bonding a withergeist normally involves them inhabiting your body. And also a specific agreement to do so.

Hi! :D:D

I never called you evil.

She removed herself from the armor and flowed over the whole of the roof and floor of the space, looking for something.

Vile, maybe. Harmful. But not evil.

She felt much better, now. How nice.

Inkwell always liked to listen to music on long walks. He reached for his back pocket, and found… nothing. 9/10mmHB#2 must have dropped it in the arena.

*evil smile* @Through The Living Glass you got this!

He sighed and continued on into the forest. Suddenly, he spotted up ahead past a bend in the road, the footprints he was following just disappeared. He cursed silently, and checked the pen, which was only half full. Impatient, he wrestled with the clip that held it shut. He had almost got it- snap. The clip broke off entirely.

Spoiler

That’s just great. Does it still work?

Inkwell clicked the pen, sat against a tree trunk, opened his notebook, and began sketching a stick.

Spoiler

Heh. That reminds me of something, that one scene from that one book,

A malformed ribbon of black fire appeared on the path before him, and he immediately ripped the page out and shredded it. The flames disappeared. He blinked. Soulcasting? “Wait. Can it make… magic now?” He retrieved one of the gloves from his pocket, and began sketching it with stones connected by pale chains. Suddenly, the glove shifted, emeralds and silver chains emerging from its surface like ink. He pulled it on and focused on the wound in his ankle. Bones were shattered there, he could hardly walk by propping himself up on Futility’s sheath. Nothing happened.

Spoiler

It needs Light.

Of course. Fabrials needed light to function. But where to get some?

He held Futility in his lap, unsheathed it, closed his eyes, and cut, not at the air, or the fabric of reality, but at the membrane between Realms. A small slit appeared in the air, about the size of a quarter, pulsing. He held the glove up to it, it was already closing, much smaller and faster than the normal Rifts. A flash of magenta and turquoise light drove away the dim shade of the forest, and suddenly the green stones on the fabrial glowed softly. Muselight? Artlight? He wasn’t sure what to call it. He pressed it against his leg, remembering at the last second to imagine it as it normally was. The fabrial flashed, the bullet expelled, bone melted and flowed together, tendons and muscles reknitting, flesh and skin pulling together to their natural state. He repeated the process on his arm, and the fabrial flashed, two of the stones cracking, but the arm healed as well. He picked up the bullets and stood up, placing experimental weight on the previously injured leg. It held just as it always did. They both grinned.

No. You’re too young. I was already . . . in hiding, per se, by that point.

And yet you met Stone Chaisler? On two occasions? Was this after you 'went into hiding'?

I only met him once.

She wouldn’t respond to anything else.

I got The timeline wrong before— she only met him once :PP mb

She did meet cricket multiple times though, so that part was right.

Inkwell decided to play around with the new and improved Arcadian Pen. If he had some access to Light, then his first big problem- his fragility, could be solved. But how to get this to work correctly, without a spren or ideals, or learning Surges? He wanted to start simple. Hey 9/10mmHB#2, he thought. Can you try and bind some of the Splendorlight to the Backseat? I have an idea.

Spoiler

Well, at least you’re not jumping in head first. We’ll see how this goes.

Inkwell cut another microperpendicularity, and as soon as the Splendorlight began flowing into the physical realm, it vanished.

Spoiler

9/10mmHB#2 spotted the Light, like some of the words of the Thread had turned glowing magenta and turquoise. He pulled it out of the Thread with some resistance, clutching to it like a child holding water, but with moderately more success. Most of  it fell away from him, but what he managed to hold onto seemed to harden, almost, forming an orb that hung contently in the Backseat. Hello, you, 9/10mmHB#2 thought. You’re cute. I’ll call you Cleo. Cleo chirped happily.

“Clever,” Inkwell said aloud. “Like the Muse?” He attempted to cut a third microperpendicularity. This time, the membrane between realms resisted him, like scar tissue, but an even smaller gash appeared, and a drop of Splendorlight rolled out. He caught it, breathing in, and it was absorbed into his chest. An intoxicating feeling, no, a physical need to create, express, design, filled him. If he squinted hard at his hand, his skin shone with a barely visible sheen of magenta and turquoise, like oil patterns on water. He grinned. Perfect.

to be clear, they are not Radiant. They have sort of a level 0 Nahel bond without any surges, and it’s not exactly great because the only consistent access to Light they have is creative inspiration.

"This one interprets things very literally," Magenta said to Center, "he doesn't seem very bright now, does he?"

Center sighed. "There is more than one way to complete the challenge. But many are obsolete or... not necessarily easier."

He plunged the blade into the ground before continuing. "I could, for example, offer you to-"

"Violence is the only answer," Magenta interrupted suddenly, "Because this blade will only ever be used for violence, it must go to the One Most Violent." Plot Significance was drawn suddenly out of the sand, crackling with pink energy. Center didn't audibly disagree with what Magenta said. The Guardian lifted the blade and charged towards Malevolence again.
