"I don't have a plan, actually. But I'm formulating one. Honestly, I had hoped Ryver would simply let me in and turn a blind eye to my goal, but I will admit that was wishful thinking." They remained seated, waiting and examining their fingernails idly. 2 minutes ago, KnightSkye Reforged said: "Yeah, sorry. He then offered me the Plotblade Conflict to use the powers of a medallion given to me by Subversion in conjunction with the power given me by the Narrativium to open a portal to here so he could get here and kill Sequence, then give me Conflict." he nodded over toward where Cadewyn had gone, "I got a tip from my author when I ate the Narrativium to pick him up. He's another character of my author, and he can be very helpful, I think. He is not yet very Thread aware yet." Ryver leaned in close to both of them. "Cadewyn, has a newish plotblade. The Plotblade of Resolution. It helps bring things to an end. He isn't aware of how it works yet, but would be willing to loan it to someone." He looked back to Unintelligible, "I heard from Subversion that you once faced an army of Withergiests and the Witherlord by yourself. I wished to give you a warning and offer my help before I let Ivisyre in. What do you say?" __ Spoiler Cadewyn walked out to the balcony with Eepy. Yes, this place did feel more energetic than where the turtle had been. "Hey Cady?" "Yeah?" "Will that Sleazy looking guy try to hurt us?" "Maybe. But I intend to prevent it." He rolled his shoulders, loosening them. "I'm not good for much, but I can destroy things." he slipped Eepy off his shoulder and onto the balcony rail. "And that goal of keeping you safe starts with a promise." He took a deep breath. "Eepy. I care for you. I love you. I want to keep you safe." his voice cracked a bit, "I... I have almost lost a little sister before. And I did horrible things to get her back. This time I want to do things the right way: by never losing someone. I want to keep you safe. You are like a sister to me. You're whole family was killed." Eepy flinched at this. It hadn't been long. "So." Cadewyn took a deep breath again, trying to settle his heart. "Will you take me as your brother? Will you let me guard you, and protect you?" Eepy stood rock still. He waited. He waited and sweat. He waited and screamed inside. "Yes." She clambered up his coat again and licked his face. "yes I will, Cadewyn." and fire consumed them. Blue fire swirled up around him and bathed him. Clouds gathered overhead and and crackled with lightening. Fire and Storm. That was what made up dragons. Fire and Storm, air and fire, Flight and Hope. The fire raged, but did not burn. The wind swirled, but did not destroy. Lighting crashed down, striking him. Lightning and fire in a rainbow of colors. Eepy clung to him in the maltstrom, staring wide eyed at it all. He turned his face up and opened his arms to the sides. And it went into him; the fire and lightning. The swept into him and took up and place in his soul. "Well. That wasn't so bad. Eepy blinked and hopped down. "Was it Cady?" Cadewyn fell to his knees and screamed, as his body then changed. Scales climbed out from his chest, from his heart and flowed over his torso, covering his body. His chest, his back, his upper arms. His back screamed in pain and wings ripped out of it, growing obscenely fast. Huge bat-like Dragon wings. Red like the scales, red like a flame. His left eye glowed a bright blue, pale and bright as the summer sky, with a slit pupil and a black sclera. His clothes --strangely-- did not tear, but formed around his body's new appendages. And he passed out, next to the railing. Exhausted. Sequence sat down, clasping her hands together until her knuckles turned white in an attempt to calm her shaking hands. She nodded as Ryver spoke, seeming a bit dazed and unfocused. "... Resolution?" She asked quietly, looking up and glancing over to the raging storm of Cadewyn's transformation. She didn't seem alarmed despite the bright spectacle, and she waved her hand. Space bent and swirled, and Sequence, Unintelligible, and Ryver all found themselves moved a safe distance away to an identical cabin on the other side of the lake. She turned her focus back to Ryver. "Resolution sounds... Final." She held her stomach, looking a bit queasy. "Resolution..." She said again. "Either me or... Ivisyre will come out of this fight dead, wont we?"

"The latter sounds a bit like one of Sandy's powers: Entropy manipulation, one of the first he gained access to, long before quantum tunneling." The Trisolarans have really advanced tech. In some ways, more advanced than yours. They have mastered 9 of the 10 spatial dimensions and can create AI protons (yes, protons) known as sophons. They do this by converting the proton to 2 dimensions, wrapping it around their planet (yes, a proton becomes that big) and putting all their advanced circuits into it, before folding it back up into 10D. They're usually created in quantum entangled pairs, which means that if you have one, you can communicate FTL with however has the other. “Gold compounding might keep you alive, but the liquid has some strange properties - analogous to superconduction for magic. It would seep into any available opening - including between you and your metal minds, as well as your lungs.” Rebus frowned, then returned to his typical smile and continued. “Entropy is in the same realm, but emergence is different in many ways. Its tendency to combine with other powers - emergently, of course - makes pinning down the specific components difficult, but Fael was able to cause a riot through manipulating a sequence of coincidences.” That’s really powerful, of course, but narratively there’s little to be gained by switching from nanotech to picotech (or I suppose it’s switching from picotech to femtotech), especially considering Rebus’s access to magic. She nodded, still a bit sullen once he finished. “You’re right, of course… At least… If they’re gone… They won’t be able to hurt people anymore.” Sequence frowned. “They’ve hurt a lot of people.” Sequence followed, kneeling down beside Cadewyn. “Oh dear … Is he alright?” She asked Ryver. Eepy blinked up at her, hot tears dripping from her eyes. "I don't know!" she started hiccuping, "He- he said he was wanted to p-p-p-protect me! An-and then he ma-made a promise and he's a Emberling s-so promises mean a l-lot and noble I don't know if he's ok I haven't seen this happen before help!!" She dove forward at Sequence, curling up at her feet, sobbing. 16 hours ago, NameIess said: Unintelligible nodded. "That's true. And, if it makes you feel better, I don't intend to make you strike the finishing blow." Unintelligible knelt by Cadewyn's side and checked for a pulse. Lyric frowned. "I'm not thinking clearly? Why are you walking in all of these weird directions?" Indeed, for some reason the once-wide corridor had turned into a series of confusing, narrow hallways. Stronger than that. It's functionally indestructible to any material that's not a strong-interaction material. "Huh." Ryver knelt next to him as well. "He should be fine. This isn't normal for his people, but not all that rare. Unless it has to do with the fact that he's bound two different dragons..." Unintelligible could feel a pulse. A very strong pulse, and very fast. It felt like a drum under his finger tips, simply more blood than a normal human. And much faster. At least twice the speed of a human heart, it raged through Cadewyn's body. As he felt the pulse, he also felt Cadewyn heating up, from the inside. The vein first grew slightly warmer, then much warmer, hot to the touch. Then, the heat faded and it glowed. A pale blue, like the hottest fire, that glow spread through his veins and arteries, lighting him up from under his skin just a little. His eyes snapped open. Sorry it took me so long to get back here. I had a social event to attend, when I got back I was just too exhausted. Sorry. Edited November 15, 2025 by KnightSkye Reforged 2

Sequence frowned as Eepy spoke. “Well, hopefully he’s-“ She jumped as Cadewyn opened his eyes, taking a step back. “Oh! Goodness! Looks like he’s okay!” Sequence knelt back down, examining the newcomer. “Are you alright? Does anything hurt?”
