She’s visible now! And she was  trying to talk to Ryver I think, or at least argue with Ivy about the Narrativium shard.

“Maybe I’ll tear your arms off instead, and let the living core of my planet feast on you while you bleed,” Sequence suddenly snapped at the rabbit, her voice uncharacteristically cold as she settled down into a chair with a weary sigh.

Both the rabbit and Unintelligible froze. Unintelligible leaned closer to Sequence, face concerned. "Are you okay?" He whispered. "I can interrogate the rabbit on my own, if you'd prefer."

18 hours ago, Sequence said:

Ivisyre just smiled. A happy tool is an effective tool. Their voice sounded from Subversion’s mind.

"Oh, I have no doubt he'll be very effective for my purposes." Subversion responded. "But do you think you can control him once he finds out what you'll use the device for?"

Jack tried to copy him - the man seemed to know things, even if he also seemed oblivious to perfectly obvious danger - and nearly fell on his face. “I really hope they’re welcoming.” he muttered, giving up and walking normally.

Jack stopped a few feet from the empty kiosk, rocking back and forth on his feet. "Oh, I'm sure they are. So, do you think we'll want to ask for two maps, or one? You said you didn't think splitting up was a good idea, are you worried about losing each other in the crowd?"

17 hours ago, Dragonheir said:

“Perhaps I am a fool, then. But I suspect you’ve underestimated my preparations - because I do not need to control the Witherlord, I merely need to know what it will do.” There was a light in Rebus’s eyes - an alarming blend of cunning and conviction somewhere between genius and madness. “I will con myself - for Antagonist brings an inevitable downfall, should Protagonist arise. I am unaffected by the hubris it brings-“ Rebus appeared not to notice the hypocrisy of that statement, given his ability to even speak it. “-but should I need to resist a second force on my personality I will be unable to counteract the Blade, allowing me to undermine my own plans and bring about one of the outcomes I desire.”

Rebus spread his arms wide, a grin on his face. Then he snapped back to the expression he had begun the conversation with - the polite smile with an edge of eagerness - and continued talking calmly as if he hadn’t dramatically declared his frankly ludicrous plan. “Regardless of my own desires, I literally cannot stop trying to do this without incurring dire consequences. I truly don’t know what will happen should I break my Word, and Fate is not someone I want to break a contract with.” Rebus tossed the orb containing his plans from one hand to the other. “Your opposition I would welcome - your string of betrayals from so long ago was truly impressive, and I have been seeking someone to match wits with. As for our deal, you’ve severely reduced how much it would benefit me - as much as you wish to rule the Thread, I am not certain you care about its activity level. And you certainly do not care about Symbol or the spread of my variants. We may both be evil, but evilness is broad and vague - I have chosen to become a villain to benefit the Thread, whereas you have chosen to benefit the Thread to further your villainy.”

Malevolence stared at Rebus, face a mix of horror, appreciation, and incredulity. Then, abruptly, he laughed. "Your fate" he said between maniacal chuckles "is perhaps even more pitiable than my own." He doubled over, entire body shaking with the force of his mocking laughter. "You, the wielder of Antagonist, perhaps the most feared being in this Thread. Doomed to bring about the Witherlord's return. Doomed to plot your own downfall!" He slapped a hand to his head, laughter reaching a crescendo. "And the best part? As smart as you are, as obvious as the idiocy of your plans is, that Blade, and perhaps your own ego, force you to believe you will succeed!" Malevolence's laughter finally trailed off, replaced by an evil grin. He looked directly into Rebus's eyes, his own violet eyes burning with scorn and self-confidence. "Thank you, Rebus. You've proven to me, once and for all, that I can never accept Antagonist." He pressed a few buttons on his phone as he continued. "I look forward to matching my wits against you. For I know that your fall will be most spectacular." His grin widened into a smile showing too many teeth. "Until we next meet, Antagonist. Know that I shall be plotting against you." With a final button press, he ended the call.

Malevolence smiled, then turned back to his screen of computer monitors. They showed a variety of images. Many were of Bacon and the vault, a few showed spy images monitoring various characters and plotlines around the Thread, with particular focus on those Rebus was involved in, but the largest central monitor showed an odd image. A cave in a forest clearing, with murky shadows within. Malevolence examined this image.

All indications lead to here... He thought. But... am I ready to take this step? He considered his options carefully. Rebus would doubtless begin moving against him with more force, now that his deal had been so rudely rejected. Blinded by Antagonist he may be, but no less dangerous for it. I will need an edge to face him. Malevolence nodded. It was time. He stood, and began preparations for the coming trial.

"Humph." Subversion said. "But now he'll have no limitations! His desire for travel has been met completely, so there's no need for him to strive for improvement of it! Even if did have to make a deal with the devil at least once to accomplish it, you still shouldn't just give him everything he wants so quickly."

I'm so sorry, I completely missed this earlier. I'm not use to navigating this thread. It's a lot.

That deal can only be a problem for me if I'm alive when you want me to keep it." he started humming to himself, memorizing exactly what he was making.

Nikkō. That name kept ringing through his head as he kept working. He hated the name. It was so... ambitious. Proud. More than he wanted. He didn't want to be a hero, just do the right thing.

He could hear the noise that metal Ivisyre had shown him. It rang with a powerful rhythm to it, like the godblades from his home, the powerful weapons made by the Author for his chosen people. Technically, Ryver was supposed to have one of them.

But he hated the Author, a little. No, he would not call on the Author's knowledge unless he absolutely had to.

Is there a chance he could get an idea of what the sphere does, or is it beyond him? I'm fine with either, just asking.

From the blueprints, Ryver could tell that what he was constructing was a vessel of sorts, incredibly durable and reinforced. A vessel for what exactly, was not as clear.

What makes you think I’m going to use it for evil?  Ivisyre said with an innocent smile. More power isn’t an inherently evil desire. Besides, isn’t the definition of ‘evil’ rather subjective?

Certainly it is. However, I'm fairly certain that Ryver would call your purposes evil, which is the relevant point here. If I were to tell him exactly what you've used your power for in the past... well, perhaps you wouldn't get what you want from him.

He waited for a moment for him to glance away for a split second. Then he deviated from the blueprint. It could have simply been a slip, but his pen skipped, leaving the bronze trail for a moment, and leaving the tiniest, most insignificant of cracks in the orb.

"Here, Ivy. It's ready." he was tired. This harsh sunlight was more than his body was use to handling.

Oh you little…

Ivisyre perked up, smiling and extending their hand out. “Wonderful!” They took the orb and examined it with a contented hum. “You are quite skilled, Ryver. By the way, you may call me Ivisyre. At his current power level, Sandy briefly enters 10 dimensions, almost fully becoming a quantum particle, waits for some femtoseconds until quantum tunneling moves him the direction he wants to go, becomes 3D again (but using a completely different slice of 10D reality), then repeats. Though he can nudge the effects slightly to make it more likely that he's taken in the direction he wants to. Doing this does has permanent effects, and he's reached the point where he can no longer truly return to 3D, and is now a 4D being, though he's really thin in the fourth direction. He doesn't like interacting with humans much anymore (he hasn't shown up in any thread in a long time) because he can hurt to look at and has devoted himself to helping the Trisolarans. This will only accelerate until he's stuck in 10D permanently.

“I believe your input can grant some of my resources that same quality, though in all honesty I’ve reached a point of diminishing returns.”
That’s really cool, actually - if I had time, I’d definitely try to loop Sandy into a plotline.

Jack looked at him like he was insane. “What are you talking about? We are the only ones here.” Of course, it seemed that wasn’t quite the way Lyric saw it.
Malevolence was right, perhaps, but he was also wrong. For Rebus planned not merely to con himself, but to con himself into conning himself. Surely his plans were infallible, for he planned to plan to fail, and if his plans to fail failed, then he would have succeeded. Rebus took a bow in front of the blank screen, his face nearly the same as Malevolence’s had been when the call was ended.

Good luck!
“Interesting…” Rebus said, a sly smile on his face. “In that case, perhaps you could help me. As you may know, the Lost Page contains the instructions to summon the Witherlord, and is currently locked away within a vault built by Cricket, Sequence, Malevolence, and Bacon.”

I somehow have managed to get BOTH animations done before the one drawing 😭 (I had a bunch of free time in art class and I spent 90 percent of yesterday afternoon drawing.) Buuuut they are on my other phone and not done being edited yet so.

"Yes I am aware. Ive been watching." He says folding his hands behind his back

“I believe your input can grant some of my resources that same quality, though in all honesty I’ve reached a point of diminishing returns.”
That’s really cool, actually - if I had time, I’d definitely try to loop Sandy into a plotline.

Named nodded slowly. "So what am I to do now?"

I'm waiting for Chips' return sometime this month so the Trisolarans can arrive.
