Just now, Through The Living Glass said:

She sighed and walked over, taking his hands.

"Bat, seriously, look at me. Just for a few seconds."

He swallowed, dropping his gaze down to the floor because his eyes were suddenly burning with tears.

She hesitated, then sighed sadly and wrapped him in a hug.

He hugged himself inside her hug and squeezed his eyes shut very tightly.

"I gotta figure it out," he mumbled.

"No, we gotta figure it out. I know you're trying to be the Protagonist, but you can still get help. Okay?"

She kissed him on the cheek and buried her face in his neck.

Symbol grinned and grabbed a chunk of the rock, moving to the doorway. She shoved it into the keyhole of the doorknob or whatever was there, Narrating it to fit the shape of the lock around it until she was able to turn it.

Again, lemme know if this works

He shoved one more time, then growled in frustration.

There was no visible lock for her to put the rock into.

if my understanding of emulsifiers is correct (and I think it is), shaping could not be an emulsifier. An emulsifier is needed to cause the reaction, but once it's done, it's relatively stable (this wouldn't necessarily be the case here, it just is generally). The shaping power could not be generated from the reaction, as the reaction couldn't occur without the emulsifier.

The closest thing we have to a Mordite-Luxite alloy is probably the Plotblades, as they consist of all four Essences. Personally, I don't see how it would be mechanically possible to alloy Mordite and Luxite (or Prismite and Nullite for that matter). They just don't share anything that could unite them. The other two qualities should be relatively easy to satisfy, however. See below.

It was just a normal rock, so it was the shape of a dragon now.

Breaking and entering would be quite difficult. It was Eof's house, after all. perhaps try your triangulation.

honestly, this probably works the best of the proposals I've heard. There would need to be some sort of emulsifier, and it wouldn't be quite pure Chaos, but that would explain how it stays in existence at least temporarily. It would be kind of like how the Darkalloy is basically very watered-down Nullite (with much more Dark compared to Order), Smokite would be basically watered-down Prismite (much more Chaos compared to Light). This would satisfy requirements 1 and 2, and I don't think satisfying requirement 3 is canonically possible.

I would just much rather it be a Mordite-Luxite alloy because I think that would be possible. And, just like Chaotic Order, a reaction's output could be the reaction itself. Thats why you need a shaper to make the smokite. You need the beginning reaction, and then it can partially sutain itself.

Rebus, being a metaphysicist, followed the rambling - but unfortunately his Author understand the context enough to comment. “The Authors are physical people in what is - as far as I know - the real world. They live on a planet called Earth, which would seem very ordinary to us - magic is not real there, and they have a moderate tech level. As for how they control us, I’ll give an example: one sunny day, a tree named Harold decided to take a walk. If you proceed to say what Harold sees on his walk, and maybe invent someone to encounter and talk to him, it would be a pretty good demonstration of what the Authors do.”

Rebus checked to make sure the period was statistically significant, then walked to a nearby rock and lifted it. Eof could see the future, after all… If he was on their side, underneath there should have been a key. Was that Eof? It might have been someone different…

Rebus decided to void the contract he had made, since it was getting in the way without actually doing anything. He’d still honor the agreement, though - the actual agreement, not the word-twisted version. “Well, my goal is to prevent my destruction, and by extension the destruction of the Thread. By extension, my main focus at the moment is on the Plotblades of Antagonist and Protagonist. You, too, are helping Bat to grow into the latter role - if he acquires it, I acquire Antagonist. If I acquire Antagonist, since I’m not an omnicidal monster, the Thread becomes a safer place.”

Rebus understood the feeling. Maybe…  but no, that was ridiculous. Or perhaps it might not be… he would consider the idea - perhaps it might solve all their problems. But he wanted Symbol to know that he didn’t fake things, even if he was doing them for more than one reason. “I don’t dream. Thinking about it, I wish I could.”

Taeidin sits down and begins to think. After a while, he speaks.

"So, it would have to be a second dimension of time... but it would have to connect in a lot of points. Oh, like a sinusoidal! And for the interactions to work, it would mean a fifth force! Would it have a carrier... no, I don't think it would; it would be like gravity. But the other ones wouldn't permeate through. Not very useful to manipulate, but neat, nonetheless."

@epl2 I assume you're still here to see this?

Taeidin jumps as the figure appears.

The figure waves. "Hey. I'm his author." He points at Cep, whose mumblings are getting faster.

I need you to explain how it would be possible for those to alloy. as an example, Darkalloy is able to be alloyed because it's reactants all have the "Dark" attribute. Also, (at least in this case) a reaction's output cannot be the reaction itself. if it was, it would be perpetually stable, as the reaction would perpetually happen, making more of it.

"Hey, that means you could ask him about the voices and your memory."

Cep's muttering starts to quiet. Then he looks up, and he looks surprised and somehow lighter. "They‐ they're gone! Some o' the voices jus' stopped! An' ah can hear...tha's you, isn't it?" He says, looking toward the figure.

"Yep!" The figure waves. Now that yeh've got that figured out, I'm gonna get out of here before I break someone's brain." The figure dissolves into smoke that quickly disappears.

Folen grinned, seeing utility with the wolf. "Looks like you wanna follow the puppo! I think the weird noises were from this direction, anyway. We can follow the veins later."

He started off in the direction the wolf was trying to lead them.

*snickers*

@Through The Living Glass :3

She barked. The other her bounded into the little cave. It was fairly small and cozy, covered with blankets the same color as her fur.

In the corner sat a gangly child with a messy mop of dirty brown hair, carefully braiding a new blanket while leaning against yet another copy of the wolf.

She looked around for a place where something like that could be hidden.

okay why a noodle I don't understand :P

"I tried burning the door down already," she said.

Xanther shrugged. "You need to be scarier. I'm sorry to say it, my dear boy, but you truly do not seem menacing. You're a pigeon on a rooftop yelling about how you're going to sink your fangs into everyone in the city. Be more archetypal. Be more menacing, at least to your Protagonist!" He folded his arms. "Or at least a version of yourself. You're falling into the same trap Platypus fell into recently, and the same one my Author constantly finds herself in."

"Truly create," she repeated, then chuckled. She picked a leaf off a bush and rubbed it between her fingers. "In a dream."

“Well, I was thinking more along the lines of antimatter explosives. Perhaps we should check if I can get nanomachines through.”
“If a pigeon came up to me, bared fangs, and walked away, I would never look at cities the same again - because pigeons seem so harmless the juxtaposition makes them all the more threatening. But that is beside the point - menace and intellect here are at cross-purposes. To attack someone for no reason, or to threaten them pointlessly, undermines my image as someone intelligent and honorable yet ruthless and manipulative. But you are right in that I should do something - remind people I exist and am plotting.”

“In a dream you don’t think about your actions. You do things simply because. And you believe your reality.”

Yeah. That is kind of the point of Mordite-Prismite. To have VERY similar properties to smokite. Because it is smokite.

Mordite-Prismite is the two Chaotic metals. Prismite is probably easier to acquire to Luxite, too.

I have no idea. I originally planned for Smokite to be something completely different. I have no idea how to do this.
