That was as far as she got before the ground lurched again and dropped three feet in a hundred-foot radius around them.

He grabbed her wrists again, more firmly this time. "Tam," he said sharply, "Calm down. Take a deep breath. I have an answer for you, okay? I need you to calm down and let yourself think for a second."

He hesitated for a long time. 

"Fine."

Scud, she . . . she felt so dizzy all the sudden. She carefully kneeled down and closed her eyes, trying to calm herself.

She was . . . actually kind of afraid that he wouldn't go with her for a moment there.

"Great. Follow me."

He found a pair of scissors and stuck them in his pocket. Then he followed her.

I think it's cuz you're trying to bring in fully formed characters instead of making new ones you can explore 

like Alex kept your attention, right? 

I've tried to join rps with Isadore but I'm just not invested cuz I know her too well and I'm not willing to mold her arc to whatever the rps do 

new characters work on the shard for me

maybe i'll make brie all grown up and just have her be a character here

that could be interesting since rn she's just a lil baby

but at the same time i feel like maybe not cuz i feel like she'd be friends with lura and lura's at the school so

unghhhhhhhhhhhhhh but i don't wanna make a whole new oneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

see i think my problem is that i love writing girl characters but my girl characters always get messy

Raven wasn't too messy(?) but she had a crazy weird backstory and a brother and dad who kept trying to kill her

Hadley was fine after a while (the beginning was CRAZY lmao cuz we were so littleeeee we were like elevennnnnnn (HALY REMEMBER TINDER AND HOW SHE AND HADLEY HAD BEEF FOR NO REASON AND HOW HAD AND CRYS HAD THAT CATFIGHT OVER EV)) until ev died

ana wasn't too messy but she had a messy backstory

but see idk how to NOT make them messy

i love my messy, deeply traumatized characters

but i feel like other people get bored or like sick of it
