And then she turned white. He knew exactly what she was thinking. Without her tattoos, she was nothing.

"Concentration," she informed them. "It takes concentration just to stay together. Goodness, this will get tiring."

Aden felt deeply disturbed. 

Five scampered after her, but Aden hesitated. He was supposed to trust her. Every single ounce of him was screaming it. 

He'd just been resuscitated from a car crash, then watched a woman who professed to be his best friend murder the person who saved him, and now he was supposed to follow her.

Needless to say, he didn't really want to go.

"I have created for myself a dilemma," she mused. A portion of her face flickered. "I can either lean into whatever form this is, or I can split myself into two different beings."

For me, at least, too many disparate copies is a problem, but if I ever do wish to return to this state, I will prepare a way to do so. On the other hand, you could separate, watch yourself evolve in two directions. I may do the same, eventually - it gives options, plot, character development, redundancy."
