Malan kept on twisting Malevolence's arm, up to the point of actually breaking it, when he was flung backwards. He hit the ground rolling, as he struggled with an invisible person. He struggled wildly, pulling out a knife and stabbing the attacker in the arm. As he did so, the cloak faded away to reveal a very angry looking Cricket.

Malan's eyes went wide, as he glanced from the corpse to Cricket. He had been tricked. A fake corpse. He threw Cricket off him, and using all his enhanced speed, sprinted desperately away.

As he ran, Cricket appeared in front of him, grabbing him by the throat. The... Enulling.... Cricket had broken it. He screamed once more, trying to throw off, but Cricket held on with unnatural strength.

Cricket's vision went red with anger as he strangled Malan. This man... he had killed Telse, and an entire world to get to him. Well, here he was. Having to listen helplessly as Tam and Bat pleaded for him, thinking he was dead.... it had broken his heart. Now, he poured all those emotions into killing this man.

Malan screamed again, and his concentration broke. Cricket formed a portal immediately, leading to Tam, Bat and Rebus.

Malan got up, immediately, looking murderous, and lashed out at everyone with his Enulling power.

@Through The Living Glass @Halcyon The Only @Dragonheir

Malevolence stumbled to his feet, holding his arm gingerly. Quickly, before Malan's Enulling reasserted itself, he pulled out his teleporter interface and summoned a hi-tech brace, attaching it to his arm. He entered a few more commands into it, then grabbed his Nullite sword again and moved towards Malan.

Wait.

Malevolence turned to find the rabbit from earlier. Its eyes were still made of darkness, but it had shrunken back down to its original size. You cannot die. We need a reader person. Malevolence frowned. "I need Malan dead. He's getting in the way of my plans. Considering how delicate the situation between my and my 'allies' is, I can hardly sit to the side while they do all the work. They'll have enough ill-will towards me as it is. I hardly want to replace Malan's incompetent hunters for an actually somewhat effective group of heroes."

The rabbit considered this. Alright. You will fight. But I will help you. Give me your sword.

"My sword? I need this. Any other material would be vulnerable to Malan's Enulling." Nonetheless, Malevolence placed his Nullite sword on the ground in front of the rabbit. I will not eat it. The rabbit responded, stepping carefully over to the sword. And you are wrong. It placed a paw on the sword, and its void-like eyes seemed to deepen. Lines of liquid darkness bled from the rabbit's eyes, ran down along its fur, moved across its paws, and dripped out onto the sword.

Cracks appeared on the Nullite blade's surface, and the darkness sank into them. More and more darkness flowed from the rabbit, causing the metal of the blade to warp, then melt into liquid. The darkness ceased flowing from the rabbit, leaving the sword enveloped in shadow. That shadow pulled inwards to reveal a sword made from a metal as black as the rabbit's eyes.

"What did you do to it?" Malevolence picked up the sword gingerly. Now it will kill him. The one you hunt. Kill anyone. Malevolence's eyes widened. "Mordite? You made it into Mordite?" The rabbit nodded. "I... thank you. Now, if you'll excuse me." Malevolence dashed towards Malan with his Mordite blade, taking extra care not to cut himself with it.

@NameIess

"You think I'd let you have a tea party with an insane Narrator without me?" Unintelligible snorted. "Of course I'm coming."

That's not a stupid question, the sphere grumbled. But she did sprout teeny little delicate wings. They flapped satisfiedly. I can't answer it, though.

It seems like a pretty stupid question to me. The answer is obviously that you can't.

Oh, I know the answer, she said cheerfully, flitting up into the air. I just can't tell you. Ask me another dumb question.

Rebus grits his teeth as Ennulling power crashes into him. His soul compacts, his awareness tightens, and pain washes over him. Then it stops. His face goes from a grimace to a smirk as sleek black and white armor crystallizes around him. Cracks of thunder ring out as he teleports utility fog around him, not bothering to move the air out of the way. More crackles ring out as he walks through the portal, arcs of electricity leaping towards his feet and the hem of his long coat.

Malan smirked at him, and raised a black tentacle of energy out of the ground, which lashed out at him.

". . . You can cry, if you need to." Thread send that she wouldn't burst into tears, herself.

She pulled away and stared at the ground. "Thanks."

She shot to her feet.

"Cri- CRICKET!"

Turning Bat around so he could see, she tried to help him to his feet. "Bat, see? Cricket's okay! He's f-f . . ."

She folded to the ground under the weight of Malan's Nullifying power.

"Tam!" he turned to her, staggering to his feet. "Get... to safety!" he screamed.

10 hours ago, Halcyon The Only said:

He stared for a minute before his face broke into a grin. “CRICKET, OH MY GOSH—“

He took a breath to steady himself, pressing his mouth closed to stop smiling. He crouched next to Tam and pressed the compass into her hand. “It’s set to the beach. You should get out of here. We’ll come find you.”

10 hours ago, Halcyon The Only said:

Bat bit his lip. "I'll be back," he called to Cricket @TwinStorm. He pressed the button and they arrived at the beach.

7 hours ago, Halcyon The Only said:

He hesitated for one more long moment, then nodded. "I'll see you soon."

He clicked the button and vanished.

@TwinStorm

Cricket sighed as Bat reappeared. He couldn't fight this on his own.

Malan slammed a shield of Enulling energy between him and Love, and opened fire with his handgun, as the shield made holes just wide enough for the bullets to get through, before resealing.

Cricket got to his feet, gritting his teeth, and sprinted at Malan, thoughts pounding. He summoned Moment, envisioning it as a sharp, steel blade. @Aeoryi

Malan stepped into the blow, dodging Cricket's slashes, before backhanding him with all his strength. Cricket flew backwards, slamming into an old oak, collapsing to the ground, crumpling. He could not win this alone. "Bat... Rebus.... Love..." he muttered. "I... need your... help."

fair warning... she's a lil tropey and an excellent swords person. like absolutely incredible

Malan casually deflected the laser off a shield, running towards Rose with inhuman speed. He raised a sword that had suddenly appeared in his hands, bringing it down on her with crushing strength.

She threw herself aside, twisting to bring her rapier around and slice the back of his calves as she hit the ground and rolled to her knees.

Bat knelt by Cricket. "You okay? What do you need?"

Malan hissed, turning quickly and slamming his sword into the ground twice more.
