Actually, he would have first tried simply moving a bonfire, which I assume is prevented by game physics.
Rebus tries to get behind one of the two bosses, resolving to play by the rules at least by a bit.

He gets behind Ornstein, and is able to hit him twice, staggering him.

@Ookla the Irreplaceable

Smough moves as if getting ready to attack Rebus. Distracting him would be helpful.

She shrugged. "Maybe, but this seems like a good enough solution. For now, at least. I'm sure we can figure something else out later, if we really need to."

"Okay." he said softly. "If this is what you need."

Atreides took advantage, getting to his feet, and slamming his mace at Ornstein.

"Thanks."

A sad look came over her face.

"Bat doesn't seem to think so. I think I upset him."

"I... to tell you the truth, I don't like it either."

Rebus tries to put Ornstein between Smough and himself, hoping that the two can’t somehow pass through each other.

Well… sometimes they can and sometimes they can’t. However, both Smough and Ornstein are attacking Atreides, so you can take advantage of the opening.

Ornstein gets ready to attack, and you can see Smough’s shadow approach from the corner of your eye.

Rebus goes to the side, taking a quartz crystal he hopes he could actually have and striking it against his sword.

Rebus (prime)’s eyes open a bit wider. “Wonderful. Now I’ll be killed for the real me’s plans. He thinks I’m expendable.” Rebus prime - Rebel - tries to bring the blades back. He’s stopped. “Of course. I’m not leaving this blade, so I hope you have a better way to get out.” He throws something into a corner, then teleports away.
A distorted voice from the floor speaks. “Your blade is rather vorpal, I think. But I don’t always.”

. Desolation vanished. He had taken one blade, a relatively small amount compared to the endless greed that had flooded through Rebus. The entire foundation shook, and something started to rise. All throughout TLT, tremors could be felt.

Something was going to shake the thread like never before.

". . . Oh." She seemed disappointed by that.

“But, if this is what you need, then do it.” he said hurriedly.

Cricket frowned. He had felt something. Something bad.

Atreides whirled around, facing Smough. He had a strange feeling.

What was that?

He frowned. "You felt it too? But... but I'm not a Narrator." Maybe it had something to do with the Thread awareness Malan had given him.

"I . . . yeah."

He wasn't supposed to have been able hear that. Weird.

I don't really care if you turn it into a thing or not. :P

A gash started to open in the sky. It emitted fiery orange light in intense amounts, and its light felt like it would burn off anyone's skin

Cricket glanced up. "Winds above." he whispered. "We need to get out of here!"

The rift closed just like that, and its intense gaze was gone in a second.

He staggered backwards, grabbing Tam. For some reason, he felt nauseous.

A dark inky mass appeared before the group. It formed into a person, carrying a Plotblade. The ink thing stabbed the blade into the ground, and then as quickly as it had appeared, it vanished.

Tam simply watched.

"Strange."

Wait . . . is the blade still in the ground, or did it vanish?
