Her arm started to feel funny where the snake had bitten her.

It's not venomous, don't worry :D

"Bat," she demanded, "Come fix me! Some stupid snake bit me."

He jumped at her voice, then scrambled to examine her arm.

“I believe so. It had some basic processing units, and that seems to have been consolidated and networked. In addition to coordinating the nanomachines, it has enough Intent to qualify as a being and activate Ennuller powers. It also qualifies as a character, judging from the fact every part of me is screaming to leave and not interfere, though I haven’t interacted with any environmental hazards from my Author.”

"That's....... weird. But cool."

They were not. But he didn't know that.

Malevolence admired the beauty of the butterflies without fear, secure in the knowledge that he had antidotes for almost every poison in existence.

"And why should I care?"

One of the snakes hissed in warning at him, but didn't attack.

He jumped, but eased forward to look at Rose anyway.

There were two small holes in her arm where she'd been bitten. They were red and inflamed.

Bat bit his lip and pulled out a syringe.

"What's that?" Rose barked, making him jump.

"It's just-- I'm just gonna test the poison," he promised. She narrowed her eyes, but let him draw some blood.

However he tested it, it wasn't deadly.

He cleaned and bandaged the wound, then plopped down on the ground to continue worrying about Tam.

"Bat," she snapped, making him jump again, "I want some nerve numbing thing."

"Oh, uh... okay." He stood up again and handed her some pills.

That sounds pretty cool if implemented well, actually. I’d probably join.

Rebus (prime) smiles and peers at the lip of the hole. “Was the power here, before?”
@SpiritOfWrath @Ookla the Irreplaceable. Shall we start our quest? I hear there are records of the lost piece of Plot’s corpse.” Rebus says.

"No. In fact, in here, they found the truth. Fill up the hole with Narration- You have infinite amounts of it, after all."

SHE'S SO RUDE ARE YOU KIDDING ME.

A snake lunged for his hand and ate them instead.

“Because… I don’t know! Because it should. People should matter. They shouldn’t just be… props, or… something.”

BUT SHE'S BEING SUCH A JERK TO BAT AND SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO

A different snake lunged and ate those ones.

Another snatched the bottle and slithered into a hole in the ground.

“Well…it’s like that bird. You caught it gently just now because there’s something in you that recognizes it’s like you.”

Rose swore. “Forget it,” she snapped. “Pills were prolly useless anyway.”

She doesn’t know that though…

My poor baby Rose

Rebus (prime) nods and accepts more Narrative power from the actual Rebuses. Then, he does as recommended, pouring raw Narration into the conical hole.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t hate her— she’s not a nice person

there are just rationales and character stuff :D

Bat sat back down and sighed. This time he couldn’t help it.

I’m so sorry I know it’s been like ten minutes or something I don’t actually know how long it’s been but are you still okay?

Rebus grins, checking his various sources of nanomachines and other equipment. “The records are supposedly in a ruined underground building, somewhere around here.” He holds up a holographic map with an area marked on it. @SpiritOfWrath

Yeah, that could be interesting. Though synchronization and recursion could be important to deal with.

Ok, sorry. I was playing Dark Souls, and I FREAKING GOT TO THE FREAKING ORNSTEIN AND SMOUGH BOSS.

Sorry.

But imma take it out on y’all.

The map leads them to a forlorn castle, surrounded by a mist.

Tam chuckled softly.

Hey, Bat. Yeah, I'm fine. Feeling a tiny bit better. Are you okay?

"Indeed. I'll work on communicating with the orb while we wait for the Ennullers to show up." @xinoehp512

Rebus uses his teleportation network to bring him and Atredies (@Ookla the Irreplaceable needs pinging) near. He readies all the resources he has, though he's doubts he'll need them, and strides towards the castle, fog of both mundane and nanotech varieties trailing behind him.
