It had still bitten her, though.

Tam was not, in fact, the source of the snakes.

Regardless, Tam glared at her, and a bucket of water was suddenly dumped on Rose's head.

Unlike the snakes, the bucket was, indeed, from Tam.

Rose swore. “Bat! Are these things venomous?”

Bat looked at Tam, nervous. “Are they?”

The Snecko’s Author was relieved.

So there.

Bat’s Author figured she could, assuming nobody cared all that much for continuity.

The Snecko’s Author transmitted that Kino wouldn’t be on for the rest of the day, probably.

Tam shrugged. "Don't ask me. They're not mine."

The bear continued towards Rose, now running.

Rose swore again. “Bat! Tell your girlfriend to do something!”

Bat blinked, momentarily stunned. Then he snorted and started laughing.

Bat’s author thought how sad that was.

"Thanks." He avoided the motion-sensitive dart launchers lining the hall.

 @SpiritOfWrath

Yes to boss fight! Just let me know which character.

The one that started with G!

Also, HI

I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD

OKAY

HI

Aelorin followed,  and at the end of the hall there was a switch to turn it off. An ominous door was at the end of the hall.

Just now, Halcyon The Only said:

The Snecko’s Author transmitted that, yes, Kino was actually on. And the Snecko’s Author transmitted that the boss couldn’t be too powerful.

Tam also started laughing. About the fact that Rose had been bitten by a snake and about what she'd said.

Bat wasn’t sure why he found that idea so funny. But he laughed anyway.

“HEY,” Rose bellowed. Then she dashed across the sand toward them.

Tam, now only giggling, Narrated Bat and herself into the branches of the tree.

“Mmm. Perhaps.” She knocked on the mountainside, and it opened up to a pair of stairs. “Would you like to go first?”

Malevolence shrugged and entered the mountainside.

Desolation enters the building. The interior is dark, and the entire thing appears to be hollow. "When the first Narrators came here, they found this room empty. It was once a well, they thought, that could draw on the Narrative in safe amounts. But they desired more."

Rebus (prime) holds up a hand, and a painfully bright light hovers above it so he can see (it’s a portal to a star, with force field containment, insulation, and dimming). “A well… Seeking more power can be a mark of either greed or true necessity, depending on the situation.”

“DO YOU WANT ME TO DIE?” She yelled, more angry than scared. “I’M TRYING TO COME TO TERMS WITH SOME VERY T-TRAUMATIZING—“

She stopped, muttered something like “screw this”, and curled up at the base of the tree.

An antidote appeared on the bear. In the mouth of the Snecko.

Tam grinned. Maybe it was cold of her, but she could really care more about what happened to Rose.

Not that any of them knew it, but in any case the snakes weren't venomous.

You didn’t read it backwards right!
Also, I called the Lady Bug thing, sort-of.

All it is is “the first one to say Bacon the Bard three times still gets a surprise.”

”Bacon the Bard three times.”

They were met with several important looking people who didn’t question Malevolence’s presence at all.

“Thank goodness you’re back,” the first man said, almost monotone.

“Don’t pretend. It’s all right.”

He stood up a little straighter, eyes unfocusing. “Several pounds of Nullite has been stolen. You apprehended the children briefly.”

“Mmm. Yes, I know. This man wishes to know about Bat. In the meantime—“ she turned to him. “How much Nullite would you like? And what form— powdered, solid, ink…”

“You… you won’t let her die,” Bat mentioned nervously. “Right?”

Desolation nodded. "What was it they felt? We will never know. However, the journey continues within the well. It is bottomless, so you will have to Narrate the end of the well when we enter." He turned to Rebus. "Ready?"
