One of the people gives Asher a strange look, but nothing more.

@Ookla the Bacon

A note floats down to the complaints office (or right outside, if it’s immune to Narration) of the Ennuller’s compound.

Hey! Are you almost finished with my creation? It took a great deal of effort to get Tenth to be an Ennuller. It’s much more difficult when you can’t Narrate it into being.

did I miss smt from you?

Moni shrugged. "It wasn't that hard. I have a Plotblade and a pack given to me by Nameless-a Narrator-that gives me what I need. Plus Perseus is a pretty tough fighter." She rubbed her side, wincing at the pain of her bruised ribs. "And yeah, Narrators usually follow rules. Whether that's because of a limited understanding of their powers or a desire to be able to interact meaningfully with other Narrators, I don't know."

Kion is intrigued. “Plot … blade?”

"As previously established: not very sociable. And I think that sounds like a great idea, perhaps for after we resolve this Subversion-clone issue.”

A small metal object falls out of the sky. Force fields quickly emanate from it, pushing air outwards with a whoosh and then Rebus, clad in a grey and black longcoat (TV troupes has a whole thing about it, after all) with bright orange trim and matching practical-ish other clothes, suddenly stands inside the fields. “I dare say I would be of use here! As long as nano-tech continues working, at least. I think I may need to talk to Onyx, anyway, but if that doesn’t occupy my attention I could use some realming lessons as well.”

Explain what you know.

"Well, do you know why it's called that? It seems a silly name."

"Aha!" said Bacon, quickly filling out the rest of the crossword. "Much appreciated!" The newspaper vanished in a flash. "Anything I can do for you, good sir?"

"Well, where there's light there's hope, I suppose. Now. How shall we prepare for the trial?"

"Oh," said Bacon, stubbornly not exploding. "Is that all?"

The guide was there.

Greetings, traveller. This is not a place of safety.

See above.

The Ennullers responded with a note emphasizing the importance of keeping Ennulling abilities regulated.

She did her hair up in a bun so she could be more serious.

"We'll need to prepare everything we need before we go," explained Bacon, beginning to conjure various devices and stuff them in a sack.

Asher stands of to the side to listen to the people and pyk talk about what’s gonna happen. They leaned back against a tree and folded their arms. Observing.

The insects' buzz is both furious and joyous as it approaches.

"You said he was vanquished?"

The traveler unfolds her map desperately, hoping that perhaps there would be a body of water or some other refuge from the bugs nearby.

“Yes, but he wasn’t killed. I’ve already filled out the paperwork to subpoena him, so don’t worry about that.”

“Yeah. It’s… a long story, but basically they’re fragments of an extremely powerful being that grant power over specific fundamental concepts of reality. Their powers can match and often exceed a Narrator’s, although they’re much more limited in scope.”

Moni turned to Perseus. “Your gods are Narrators, right?”

@Ookla the Irreplaceable

"The demons? No, they're a different species. The old Skavi gods, who can say? Though Atreides was, so I truthfully don't know."

Atreides, meanwhile, sulking on his throne, heard his name get mentioned and immediately listened in. It was a power of his. He smiled. Perhaps vengeance would come sooner than he had expected.
