"Back at the castle," said Bacon, reopening the portal.

1 minute ago, Through The Living Glass said:

That is an unfortunately positive sentence, he chuckled.

He stepped back through the portal.

Beosta stepped through as well, and, Ignoring the mess, knelt next to the body.

Stars, the resemblance was awful. Her stomach turned and she squeezed her eyes shut. “Bacon, could you Narrate him back or something?”

Hey look it's page 2900

Only 100 more to go to the big 3000!

The two Bacons merged into one.

"Here's the rest of the adventuring party! Shoe, Beosta, this is Salem."

"Just put the soul on the body; that should do the trick."

She nodded.

Oh, stars. Was she really about to do this? What if… what if he was mad? She held in a laugh. She’d killed him. Of course he’d be mad.

I’m fine. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. I’m fine. Just…..

I’m scared.

Ah. He scooted a little closer.

Everything will be fine, don't worry.

Selppaenip nodded as though he understood.

The group stood and waited for Subversion to open the portal.

Subversion reached the stone and touched it, immediately causing all the sparks and spatial warping to cease. She concentrated briefly, and a portal opened next to the stone, leading back to the battlefield. "Should be safe to approach now. The stone will probably remain stable for another hour or so."

"What sort of help do you think I could provide?"

The voice was very slightly bitter.

The Brave Adventurer frowned. "Are you not one of the most skilled Narrators alive? Do you not wield the Plotblade of Lore? Surely you could secure the Plotblades if they were found and deliver them to us for safekeeping."

34 minutes ago, Immortal Platypus said:

Hacob raised an eyebrow. "You mean to tell me that you can't secure someone against rabbits? You can fight off Subversion but can't beat rabbits?"

"They are not just rabbits. They are rabbits enhanced by one of the most powerful wizards in history. He has spent centuries growing his herd, creating specialized rabbits of all kinds. Compared to that, a Narrator who is intentionally suppressing her powers is nothing."

41 minutes ago, Immortal Platypus said:

"What about any Enullers who have gone rogue? Very few of them respond to the proper paperwork anymore, besides the ones maintaining the Wall. Can it help me with them?" He checked himself before he kept asking questions. "Sorry, I don't mean to sound ungrateful. I'm just caught off guard. I don't remember you telling the last people to come to you so clearly what they do, and I was expecting to have to solve some sort of riddle or mystery surrounding the weapon. It's throwing me off. I apologize."

Platypus thought for a minute, before the Dreamsmith rubbing his shoulder caught his eye.

"Is there something wrong with your shoulder? Perhaps something I can help with?"

"Thank you for offering, but it's nothing you need concern yourself with. Just an old scar that gets a little stiff now and again."  He stretched his right arm, wincing slightly, then relaxed. "Anyways, I think you'll find that very few Enullers have gone rogue, to my understanding. And with the proper paperwork you can likely call the organized Enullers to aid you if you do encounter one of those few." The Dreamsmith smiled. "And I do try give people what they ask for, when they come with a specific need or request. If you're concerned about mystery, don't worry. That pen has plenty of surprises waiting for you. But first you must give it a name. It is not complete without one."

Maybe. We’ll see. She took a couple more breaths and finally set the soul on the body’s chest.

A great flash of light—

It felt just like waking up. A numb tingling spread to Geioh’s limbs as if he’d just barely fallen asleep. He drew in a breath, stretching lungs that felt as if they’d never been used, and opened his eyes.

He was met immediately by a girl about his age, with long dark curls. She looked concerned.

He recognized that face. That face… older than he remembered, but…

“You’re Nethek’s little sister,” he said.

She nodded. He couldn’t quite pin down the expression in her eyes—

Wait. Brown eyes, with a hint of violet when you looked close…

“You killed me,” he breathed.

She looked down at her hands. “I’m… I’m sorry.”

I LOVE Shoe.

The blonde man sat up slowly, watching Beosta as of afraid she’d come after him again.

“I’m sorry,” she said again. “I… I made a mistake. I’m sorry.”

“How long…?”

”Three years.”

He nodded slowly, digesting this information. “Faothea… she and Nethek…”

“They’re… they got married.”

“Theyre happy?”

“Yeah.” She twisted her hair. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay.” He took a deep breath and got to his feet. An empty crystal casing shattered on the ground, and he glanced at it with puzzlement.

"Friends of mine," replied Bacon. "We're a sort of adventuring party at the moment."

"Yep!" Bacon said to the group of wall-replacement consultants. "That's good!"

There was the beep of heavy machinery as a new wall was lowered into place.

"How'd it go?" asked Bacon.

¨Adventuring party? what are you doing?¨

"What?" exclaimed Nogard, following closely behind. He gasped as he saw what was happening on the other side of the portal. "We need to help them!"

“What’s your name again?”

“Beosta. I’m Beosta. This is Shoe, Bacon, Bat, Nastu, Cricket, and I don’t know that person.” She pointed at Salem. “You’re… Gaioh, right?”

He shrugged. “I never really liked that name. I don’t know.”
