True. But we're not even there yet, Shoe thought, so we're probably fine for now. I don't think Ciara ever leaves her stronghold.

This way. He went off left of where they had come from.

Yrank followed Shoe, the former assumed the latter had, in fact, been here before.

Yrank gave a sort of un-pigeon-like thumbs up, breaking his balance for a moment.

"Right, Pigeons." Cricket said, "Pigeons. I only ever imitated a pigeon once before. Why are we pigeons again?"

[Right- we need to go through a portal to get there, right?]

[To disguise ourselves, of course!]

Yep, he said, swooping beneath some tree branches on a cliff face. We should be there in few minutes.

It was so strange, seeing the landscape from such a different perspective. It all seemed so . . . insignificant.

I mean, pigeons aren't exactly common around here, but you see them from time to time.

[Any familiar sights?] asked Bacon.

[She'll never suspect a thing,] said Bacon confidently.

"Can somebody give me more details on 'her', please?" asked Cricket. "I want to know who I'm dealing with."

Ciara. The Ennuller who stole my sister from me.

Very powerful. Very smart. But also not completely sane, which doesn't pair well with her other two attributes.

A few.

"Oh. Okay, um, I'm sorry for your loss?" said Cricket hesitantly, not completely sure what to say.

Shoe chuckled sadly. Thanks. I'll get her back, one day.

Hopefully that day is soon.

Ig everyone can hear Shoe in pigeon form now.

Works for now lol

Pigeons are naturally telepathic, clearly.

Oh thank goodness, I thought Yrank, being mostly powerless, couldn't communicate with Shoe while both were pigeon-ified.

[Wait,] Yrank said, not recognising the mysterious voice. [Who was that who just spoke?]

What? No, I don't live here- are you messing with me?

Oh, hey there, Yrank. It's Shoe.

Yrank simply looked around. [That joke wasn't funny! Reveal yourself!]

[Did you not live here once?]

Shoe looked directly at Yrank, who was flying just behind him. I'm being serious, he said, amused.

I mean . . . once. It's been a long time though.

And I can't see it from here, anyway.

Yrank gasped as much as a pigeon could. In all the time he had known the chap, he did not speak. Whether that was by ability or choice, it wasn't up to him to decide. [How is this possible?] he said, astonished.

[Also, your voice sounds exactly how I expected,] he laughed, [though I will say, perhaps a little deeper than I assumed.]

*le pigeon gesp*

Not sure, Shoe answered. And I'm glad it sounds similar.

You know, remarks Cricket telepathically, I've spent almost 10 years traveling the multiverse and few places are as beautiful as this. If this is ruled by the person you've described, we'll be doing this place a favor by deposing her.

For reference, Cricket is 19. He ran away at 10.

Does anybody roleplay Ciara or how does that work?

I think if there are general lackeys with not much intelligence or individual plot relevance, we can fight them without controlling too much of the overarching development going on.

However, if there is someone with a level of intelligence/authority/relevance, it is assumed that the person who created said character/villain is the one 'roleplaying' them.

Did I do a good job of explaining it?

I made her, so I'll roleplay her (unless I dictate that someone else can, ig)

Well, it's not so much that she rules here -I don't even know if she's actually stepped foot here in years- it's just that the entrance to her hideaway is here, which is where we're going.

[Speaking of which,] said Bacon, [that cave looks very suspicious.]

Cricket rolled his eyes. "I've spent ten years traveling the multiverse and the suspicious cave is NEVER where the evil hideout is. It's somewhere innocuous, like under a hill or a waterfall."
