Beosta smiled back. So you can’t, right? Was it for your whole life, or what?

Shoe's smile fell. His gaze shifted to the ground nervously, and anxious, he walked away, leaving the pencil and pad with Beotha.

The Great Wizard pointed to the slideshow rabbits. “The Valiant One is a great hero, and a member of the Brave Adventurers.” A picture of the Valiant One appeared. “Madness… I have not heard this name either.” A picture of static appeared. “The Dreamsmith is a magical being who makes weapons for those who seek him out.” A picture of a man with a mechanical jaw and a grey scar across his chest appeared. “And the Witherlord…” utter darkness consumed the slideshow. “The slayer of Luxsprites, Lord of Darkness, the one who caused TLT’s birth. He is a great evil, and I very much doubt that he will join up with us.”

Nogard shivered at the darkness. Somehow, even though the slide was made entirely of fluffy bunnies... he could feel something calling from within it, beyond the edges of reality.

He looked away. "Well. Maybe the Valiant One would be willing to join our cause. We could start there, at least."

Hey hey hey! Neither am I! You don’t have to do exactly what I say, but please. At least acknowledge that some part of you is betraying your greater will. This is complete retaliation to y’all telling me that your characters can immediately destroy mine at will.

(and please understand. I’m not actually arguing with you. It’s hard to transmit the usual joking tone I nearly always adopt. [it’s my child, of course])

Ah, one of the age-old conundrums of TLT. How can you determine who wins when all of the characters are omnipotent? :P

Subversion appeared next to Nogard and smiled at him, the shadows of her dress seeming to lighten slightly. “Hey! You doing alright? Hacob hasn’t spoken to you, has he?”

"Ah," said Nogard, temporarily rendered unable to form coherent speech. "I don't think I've heard of Hacob. Do you mean Yacob? He can be a little crotchety, but he's nice!"

She chased after him, scratched out the sentence, and handed the pad back to him.

But she didn’t leave.

Thanks for the interaction by the way; it’s a good opportunity to get her attached to him

Shoe accepted them back, but didn't write anything more.

He sat on the ground near everyone else in front of The Great Wizard's rabbit-slideshow.

"I asked you a question. Why. Not?"

Platypus stepped forward, eyes grim, looking like an apex predator on the hunt. Now his Blades were inches away from the misty being.

"I can hear your thoughts. Who are you talking to? Why can't I talk to the Dreamsmith"?

Hacob shook his head, confused. He didn't know why she was so angry all of a sudden. This was extreme, even for Subsy!

Hacob chuckled at the idea of the Witherlord joining them. Then he realized something.

"Can you go back to the Valiant One? Is that a live feed?"

Hacob, who had been standing next to Nogard, glanced at her confusedly, then ignored her.

did I ever say that? If so, sorry about that. I don't mean it like that.

Also, Zanitar is directly controlled by me, his Author. Unlike most characters, who kind of have their own decisions and are given knowledge by their Author (by my understanding at least), he is directly controlled by me. Basically a front for me in the world.

And that was a harsh reaction by me. I'm sensitive to what I perceive as godmodding, because I used to do it, and I don't like it. Sorry about that.

Lol. Soorry too. I know that my characters’ powers toe the line (I shudda chosen a different power set, but i chose these cuz they’re system my namesake character came from…), so I’ve been trying to limit that (the entire reason I brought Intellect in, actually, so that Madness wudnt do dat), but I did go a bit too far…

I don’t know if you specifically stated that, but it was the gist I was getting, with all the Narrator… *sniff* *sniff*

(none of this wudda happened if a narrator didn’t accompany Tull to fight Wrath… *cough cough*)

Ista nodded. “If we’re lucky, Mirth might join us. She was the best at holding Madness back, until Berin was turned.”

Tull was weeping in the corner. He was shaken by Madness.

While technically, lore-wise, they probably could, no good person is going to do that to another person's character. Except whoever did that to Xino... but that probably won't happen again.

Erif's eyes glazed over. "Uh... yeah. I understand."

(He did not understand.)

Are you talking about the Narrator erasure? Cause that wasn't me :P I was just salty because the Narrator in question was part of plots I had planned and I thought "hOw caN I maKe PloT iF oNe oF the cHarActerS iS Gone!? 😭"

Narrator Xino did get his powers stolen, but that was entirely my own idea.

(Side note @The Halcyon Girl Nogard is very concerned about Gail's announced departure, seeing as she's one of the prophesied potential Plotblade procurers.)

Im prob gonna limit madness to my own characters, so I can kill them and or hurt them in the funnest ways without gming
Tull looked up. “Madness… she… she broke me.”

—————

Jilu stares at Tull, and felt immense pity. Too much, she hadn’t ever felt pity like this. A voice spoke to her. Hey. I’m here to help. I want you to look at him. Try to sense his pain, his sadness. And… just take it away.

Who are you?

I am Mirth. I am… finally ready to come back.

Jilu complied, feeling strengthened by his weeping, then using that strength to take it away. Tull stopped crying, and calmed down.

————

Ista looked up. “Cool! Looks like Mirth is helping us.” She explained again to Erif, because he was obviously lost. She told him that they didn’t originate in TLT, and that Madness wanted to conquer TLT.

Erif supposed that his limited understanding would have to suffice.

"Tull will be fine, right? Because of this 'Mirth' person?"

“Yes. And Intellect is working on a way to limit Madness as we speak.”

I was talking about that. The way you said it made me think you got erased. That also makes sense though

Wait, did Narrator Xino and Luxsprite Xino ever exist at the same time? That would be confusing.

WHY DO YOU GUYS KEEP POSTING SO MUCH

NOW WHAT'S HAPPENING

we got a list of people that could potentially use the blades. and also, Omen (or perhaps a doppelganger of him) won't take platypus to the Dreamsmith so now Platypus is threatening him. other stuff too probably.

I keep hearing that word.

so quick lore explanation. Xino, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, or go more in depth.

A long time ago, there were two types of beings: Luxsprites (beings of ordered light) and withergeists (beings of ordered dark). blah blah blah, stuff happened. Eventually, the Luxsprites attacked the withergeists, and lost. Hard. they got wiped out, and from that defeat sprung the creatures of chaotic Light (Narrators) and ordered dark (Ennullers).

Also, the Witherlord is the ruler of the withergeists. currently, Platypus is the only living Luxsprite, and he didn't start as one, and isn't always one

Luxsprites didn’t attack the withergeists, they were attacked by them after a Luxsprite opened a gap in their defenses while attempting to combine ordered light chaotic darkness.

Also, there is one Luxsprite left that is not Platypus.

Oh, that's right, and that's what cause Narrators and Ennullers.

I forgot that he existed. Is it Xino?

not much, only that he was the OG Luxsprite and that Zephrun described him (or maybe a different Xino) as "a 4’8” blue lizard creature that’s been secretly hosting a luxsprite and serves as the bookkeeper of a vast criminal underground and he’s uppity, snappish, and kind of racist I guess is the best way to put it."

I did PM you and Zephrun, and Zephrun said that it "sounded really, really cool."

you didn't respond, so it's kinda your fault

Thanks for the lore explanation, all y’all!

”He won’t stop being attacked until he acknowledges Intellect, but this will help clear his mind.”

Hang on. I have it. I’m going to try to break her connection to this world. Intellect paused, and all who had been attacked by Madness except Tull and Berin were freed from her influence. But it failed to make a difference. Intellect swore, and then reinspected his work. He froze. Oh no. His voice grew smaller. A sanitized copy… that’s why it didn’t work. I guess I need to be more careful.

This is Intellect realizing that Madness is not actually invading, and that I (his author, of course) just copied him over.
