The brave adventurer offers the child a handshake. "Hello. Call me The. What's your name?"

"My name is River! Nice to meet you! Where do you come from?"

"I don't think that part of my backstory has ever been Narrated. You?"

As you all look a man walks out of the shop “hello weary traveler looking to enter my shop?” He has crazy white hair, a small top hat, hunch backed and one eye seems to be stuck in a squint 

also I have to do something be back in a bit don’t kill the shop keeper

The brave adventurer walks into the shop and grabs a few items off the wall. "How much for them?"

"Uh, lemme see what I have." The brave adventurer starts digging in the pockets of his cloak. "I can get you half a stick I picked up the other day."

"Sure." The brave adventurer hands the stick to the child. "It's not counterfeit, although there's also nothing special about it to my knowledge."

The brave adventurer nods. "So will that cover the cost? Or do you need the knives too?"
