QuaN7umVo1D
Hi fellas. I have recently finished the stormlight books, which btw were my first cosmere experience. I was wondering what I should get my hands on next, so mistborn, elantris, or warbreaker? What are your suggestions? Mind you I've read "Alloy of Law", because I needed a book for a project also I thought about a new mistborn reading order, which goes by AoL first, then the original trilogy, and finishing with Wax and Wayne trilogy. Cheers!
Archer he/him
Welcome! I'd recommend Elantris. Not only because it's awesome, but also because I think it's the oldest out of those options. But if you already have some knowledge of how scadrial works, then that could be a good choice as well. All three are great reads.
CrazyRioter she/her
You should read Warbreaker, as it contains some context for a few characters that appear in SA.
Tesh Any pronouns
I agree with @Archer. Elantris was actually the one I read after finishing the SA. (Well, OB wasn't out yet, and I didn't even know that Edgedancer existed). Which were the first books by him that I ever read. Now I have an obsession and am on this site. Well, have an upvote and a cookie*. Spoiler *Disclaimer Edited March 12, 2018 by Tesh
I Am Witless she/her
I would second what has already been said. Elantris is great, the *Original Sanderson Experience*, and unarguably less dense than Stormlight. Mistborn is really fun, and has (in my opinion) a bit more intensive world-building than Elantris does. What sort of book do you want to read next? Personal preference on my part says Alcatraz versus the Evil Librarians. Have a penguin.* Edited March 12, 2018 by I am Witless *Does not contain spikes. I got the warbreaker refferences because of the colours, actually. I guess I would read and see who they were before stormlight, since I'm guessing this happened post-warbreaker. Cheers! StormingTexan he/him
Welcome! I'd read Warbreaker next I think it will add some depth to SA you may have missed previously. Plus it is just a good book in itself. After that Elantris is a good option but be warned Brandon has grown a lot since he wrote that and you've kinda read his most polished works first. Mistborn is what I started with and Era 1 being finished adds to the enjoyment a lot. I like Era 2 a lot as well which sounds like you have read the first book which was supposed to be the only one from that era. Honestly the order does not matter that much with Warbreaker being the tiny exception but no need to worry about that now.
Lanny he/him
I am currently listening to Warbreaker. I think it is fantastic so far. I have read the other books you listed and thought they were great as well. I would suggest reading Warbreaker or Elantris before the Mistborn trilogy. I say that because I found it difficult to get through the last 2 Mistborn books. They were kind of dry for my taste. Warbreaker does have elements that expand the Stormlight Archive but they are not necessary to enjoy Brandon's other books. He says that he tries to make each book(series) enjoyable as a stand alone story without needing to read his other books.
