The Almighty Cheese he/him Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 If you could choose one magic system what would it be? 1
Hemalurgic Headshot he/him Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 ChayShan... I just think it's really interesting. (I'm guessing you mean Cosmere) And officially, welcome to the Shard! Don't eat the cookies, they will Ruin your appetite!
The Almighty Cheese he/him Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 Not Cosmere per say just brandon sanderson works in general
Assassin in Burgundy he/him Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Definitely Allomancy. In today's world there's just so much metal to take advantage of with Steelpushing.
Shqueeves Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Welcome! Avoid the cookies. As for your question, probably Feruchemy or Allomancy. I work a lot with metal, so those would be ideal
Mr. Staccato he/him Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Sanderson specific? I'd go with Feruchemy. Would be nice to finally get a use out of this ring I've been wearing... Then again, it's made of bronze, and god knows I don't need anymore incentives for wasting away my evenings writing stories and posting things on the net. If I could go with absolutely anything else though I'd go for Jim Butcher's Fury system (read: less complicated spren magic), magic in Mage: The Ascension, or general blood magic from DA.
+Slowswift Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Twinborn, probably, though being an Oculator wouldn't be too bad.
A Secret Corner he/him Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 I would probably choose fullborn
Gizmosowner he/him Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Feruchemy just because you can store fortune
Fabian_Caldwell she/her Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Either Mistborn or Knight Radiant. Both really powerful if you use them right.
karsen Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 It's a hard choice, but I think a post-Calamity Epic would be pretty fun. Who doesn't want to be a superhero? Plus you have the multiverse aspect too, it'd be as fun to universe-hop as it would be to world-hop!
Vecna he/him Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Feruchemy, or maybe Forgery. F:Brass would be so useful...

It may not be the most impressive magic (Alcomancy / Surgebinding) but it's uber balanced and very practical if your world isn't ending
ArborealEtymologist Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I've wanted to play a steel twinborn in a campaign at some point. But I recently found out that you *can* burn up in atmosphere by overusing steelrunning... so that's fun!

I would be either a rithmatist or a forger. Rithmatist because I so want to vs people in it and a forger because I would want to experiment...... just a question though staccato what fury would you have. I like metal so I can turn into metal and be epic. 1

I like metal so I can turn into metal and be epic. Oh wow you've read Jim Butcher too! Awesome! To be honest all the furies are awesome though I have some reservations with metal (don't get me wrong, it's epic!) but I'm a little more inclined to furycrafting where the fury actually takes shape. I'd like to say water because empathy and shapeshifting is way, way cool - but the average human being is horny more than 70% of the time and I don't want to be in the receiving end of that all. My second answer would be wood - it isn't flashy or anything, and there's little to no utility to it in the real word, but I liked the way Fidelias described the way his racoon wood fury looked like. Like stray bits of wood and shrubbery appearing alongside an interplay of shadow, a fury you can only see out of the corner of your eye. JUST AWESOME. So I would like a wood fury - I'd want him to appear as a golden monkey like Marisa Coulter's daemon from The Golden Compass and I'd call him Bartholomy.
chop_ninja2 he/him Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Ahh Mr staccato, yet agian you mention another book I've read as I have read the golden compass/ northern lights. You seem very well read so good for you.
