One  last thing about the election: there are other candidates, you don't have to vote for Trump or Hillary if you don't want to. Right now they're just the most likely ones to win but they're not the only ones you can vote for. Just saying.

Not an American, so I don't have a voice...but at this point, I'd be genuinely afraid to vote for anyone other than Hillary.

Not because she's great or anything. But I'm sort of genuinely terrified Stein and Johnson will siphon off enough votes from people to give Trump a shot.

Any other year, eh, whatever. Vote according to your conscience. But seriously, this year? Yeah, no. Trump can not be allowed within spitting distance of the oval office.

I've already said my piece before. But watching his rallies is...terrifying. And disturbing. And what started as a joke has me genuinely worries about what the next four years will be like.

It'll be a mess whoever in office -and if he loses, you can bet Trump will stir stuff up- but the idea of President Trump is...

Ah, but there was another video I hadn't uploaded yet, where I ask Bruce a very important question. It concerns his friend Dobby, a dachshund who lives in our apartment complex.

@Cognizantastic That was very entertaining. Shakespeare sees himself as a meme, and potatoes on pizza?? XD

I noticed that sometimes in the story, it sounded like you were unsure whether to use "thee" or "thou" for Shakespeare's dialogue. I was fortunate enough to get a crash course in how to use them during a college Shakespeare course I took recently, so I'm happy to answer questions if you have them.

@TwiLyghtSansSparkles BRUCE IS SO ADORABLE. <3 I love how excited he got as soon as you mentioned the dog park! He obviously understands at least that much English. :)

Well, I now have a Wattpad account. I'll have something up once I get all of the intricacies worked out. For a cover, I was considering Draco, silhouetted with a half-moon, being followed by the silhouette of a Sasquatch through pine trees. Thoughts? Is that doable, graphic designers?

I'll have it done by tomoz

That sounds cool to me. Anything about melody though? Like maybe her face half translucent in a corner or....something? And I think Draco should be holding his wand. My two cents

Something my cousin said that's very important (to USA folk, at least):

Quote

Friendly reminder: our government is supposed to work on a system of checks and balances. Thus, you don't have to prioritize one single issue and vote only for candidates that support your view on that particular issue. You should find candidates who agree with most of your views on various issues, and then you can also vote for people running for other positions that agree with the some of your OTHER views. For example, if you really like a presidential candidate except for the fact that they support one single issue that you don't agree with (say, legalization of marijuana, for example), then you should go ahead and vote for them, and also plan to vote for someone running for the Senate or the House that DOES agree with you on that issue. Thus, if you like a presidential candidate but don't want him or her to legalize marijuana (using the example), you can vote for a senator who opposes marijuana legalization, to keep your presidential candidate's view in check (after all, Congress has to vote something into law before the president can sign it, and they also have the power to overthrow a presidential veto). Diversify your ballot.

In other news, this (possible HP spoilers to follow?):

Let's put it this way - FiveThirtyEight dot com gives Clinton a better statistical chance of winning Texas (the largest deep red state we've got) than Trump has of winning the presidency.

I keep seeing his stats tank then rise ridiculously, so... I admit, I might be over-worrying, but still. It's kind of terrifying watching something that can so hugely impact my life which I have no impact upon.

I know how you feel. I mean, yes, I can vote in this election, but I'm just one person. Beyond that, there's the whole concept of the electoral college, which basically ensures that if my parish goes to Clinton, but every other parish in the state goes to Trump, then the state goes to Trump wholesale. It can feel like you're only given the appearance of a say in the election. -_-

I think this is a different version of the dog park. I've been there dozens of times and I haven't seen a single hooded figure.

I do not understand democracy. The impression is that it's just counting votes, but it sounds like that's not how it actually works.

... See, now I can't help but think that this is a case of And then Twilyght was a Hooded Figure.

Well, it made sense when the nation was young, travel was dangerous, and communication between the colonies could take weeks or months. The electoral college was set up as a sort of compromise, allowing the majority votes of each state to stand while still making the system more efficient. (That, and the fact that the Founders didn't quite trust the common people to make the right choice all of the time, thus appointing electors as more educated go-betweens.) Nowadays, with the internet allowing instant or near-instant communication between New York and Seattle, and phones connecting Nebraska to South Carolina to California, many Americans have come to see the electoral college as outdated and a barrier to true democracy.

I don't think I wore a hood today.

If any writers are feeling a disturbance in the force it may be because I am writing something in second person, present tense.

I've done that before, not realizing it apparently creates disturbances. It's not the sort of POV you want to use often, but I find that it adds a nice element of darkness and helplessness that can't be equalled by any other viewpoint.

I know some people hate present tense for reasons and second person is just rare.

This thing is a series of nightmares based on the fears of my friends, with the idea that you actually are dreaming this, right at this moment, so it cant be told any other way.

That said it should be used sparingly, and only when the story really calls for it. Like right now.

... I just had a really cool idea for a story in past tense, second person. You are remembering something really weird that happened to you, I guess sort of like The Ocean at the End of the Lane, but more horrifying.

Was the disturbance  similar in sensation to one squishing a jelly donut? If so then yes, I felt it. If not, the jelly donut thing may have overwritten your force-disturbance. What do it feel like to you?

It was... like a wrong note in the force, I dont know how you feel disturbances in the force though.

Aah, so music is your focus. For me it's usually similar to the wind blowing backwards across my skin, you know? Like the feeling of the wind, but reversed. I don't know, it's all weird pseudo-pigeons to me.

Right, so you feel the force like wind, I feel the force like music. I wonder how else you can feel the force...

Well a friend of mine once described a feeling of being dipped into a barrel of watermelon-flavored jelly. We found out that my dad had decided to move us to Japan only three hours later. So... potential.
