Mestiv he/him Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Instantly changing all the water in human body into steam would result in a really powerful explosion. Human body contains something like 50kg of water I assume. 50kg of steam or rather water in gas form, in human body temperature of 36*C in atmospheric pressure would be almost 1200m3 if my math is correct. Now, a human's volume is how much? 1m3? That would result in huge difference in pressure, assuming the temperature wouldn't change. I don't remember the Chasmfiend post, but did humans explode like bombs or rather like balloons? What can steam under a lot of pressure do:
Edgedancer he/him Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Appealing to my ego is always a sure fire way to get me to do something... Then oh great humorous Quiver, please unleash your inner insane teenage girl. Ugrade post up! If I did something wrong let me know. You inserted a great craving for video on demand in a lot of people I imagine but otherwise it was ideal. Now on the whole Chasimfiend scenario, I'll keep myself brief, seeing how a couple of great posts were already made. People can most likely guess that I'm of the opinion that his powers are to broad. One thing in that regard other people seem to not have considered yet is Power Duality. Namely, the combination of altering the battlefield's structure through chasms, its properties, even if only in small bursts, and his ability to survive reckless and extreme changes that would be completely leathal to a person without healing or super armor. On a side note, from what I've seen Comatose you don't have to worry about overstepping your bounds all that much. You're very much accomodating and friendly, so if you have a valid concern about a character don't worry about raising said point. 1
Comatose he/him Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 The post was good. I look forward to seeing what you do with the character. Thanks for being you, Comatose. Your kindness and consideration of others is a highly admirable trait, one that I hope to integrate into myself. I think that you're a lovely human being, and I deeply appreciate how you act. Sorry if that was weird. I believe in telling someone when I notice something good, and sometimes that can come off as strange behavior. Just know that I mean every word. Glad to hear Upgrade is going over well.

Edgedancer he/him Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Cog, that's only one reference. every single one of his posts is chock full of Dalinar references. I at first read that as Summer's profile. Man I'm bad with names. Also, while you're on it you might as well mention that dirty name thief Edgerunner.

Edgedancer he/him Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 as far as I know Mestiv didn't include any Stormlight references. Oh right, but that ones obvious. Which is why I was so confused. On a side note, basing powers of Cosmere, especially Stormlight, seems to be extremely popular. Counting Chasimfiend, Paladin and Summoner that's three Shardbearers and another KR inspired one with Edgerunner. Not all that suprising I guess, seeing the fandom.
Chandrian Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Don't forget Brightdeath, who does use an armor that's similar to Shardplate. EDIT: PLATE. YES. PLATE. TOTALLY SAID THAT THE FIRST TIME. What did you say the first time?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 4, 2016 Author Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) You know, I'm considering additional options (besides adopting them out or turning them into NPCs) for powerful High Epics who've been abandoned by their players. Like, declaring open season on them. Letting some of our less powerful Epics let off some steam. If pursued seriously, it'd be something reserved for characters whose players haven't shown in some months, just to be sure they don't come back and find their Epic has been murdered by a spoon-wielding Backtrack or a tuba-playing Metronome. TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 4, 2016 Author Posted June 4, 2016 This idea, I like it. Seriously Twi, I adore the idea of abandoned Epic open season. It'd pose a fun challenge for the players who decided to bring those Epics down. And I think it'd help make Oregon seem like more of a turf war state—if powerful Epics can actually die, it'd make the whole thing seem more dangerous than it already does. One hitch I see, though, is coordinating who would write for the High Epic being targeted. This wouldn't be a problem if only one person wanted to fight that Epic, but if five players wanted to send ten different characters after that Epic, coordinating that Epics reactions could get a little tricky.
Blackhoof Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 That sounds like a fascinating idea! Quite fun, too
Nashan’Elin he/him Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) That sounds hilarious, and a good incentive not to abandon Epics. (Just in case, I haven't abandoned mine! I'm waiting for Voidus's reply!) EDIT: Oh hey! 500th post! Edited June 4, 2016 by Nashan'Elin
Kobold King he/him Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 murdered by a spoon-wielding Backtrack For the record, if anything like this ever happens it'll be a complete accident on Backtrack's part.
Edgedancer he/him Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) Soooo, is breakingamber yet another RPer who made a powerful High Epic and then vanished? That is something he has announced, kind of. OK, I'm going to leave the site temporarily on May 19th. I'll probably be back in August or September sometime, but I'll probably be offline the whole summer. Does anyone want to take care of Abaddon and/or Marco while I'm gone? Although he has since claimed that gaining a miobile would mean he doesn't have to quit completely, so make out of that what you will. It appears that way. Open season, eh? I could deal with some prey. What do you mean tube-playing Metronome? Do you mean he isn't might enough to vanquish any Epic that crosses his path? Edited June 4, 2016 by Edgedancer
Blackhoof Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 It occurred to me, on the subject of Astoria and the caverns underneath, that the Adventurer and Lockvault already have a underground base, don't they? perhaps a monster attack is in order to make things a bit more exciting

(Of course there's also a bit of the underground of restricted use, mainly for Mary, even if she isn't restricted to using an area actually near the city, and imprisoning people, I'd imagine.)

Edgedancer he/him Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 No, I wouldn't have... I was being a stupid meanieface full of lame. I'm going to go edit it out of the post now. Guys, don't hesitate to call me out when I act like that. I have a propensity for unnecessary meanness when I become aggravated by someone, and that's not something I like about myself. It's a fault that I'm still trying to work through. However, the only way that I'll improve is through cognizance of my own failure, and sometimes I can't recognize that in myself. So, if you're comfortable with it, telling me when my behavior is cruel or overly aggressive will help me become a better person overall. Thanks for tolerating me, all... Please know that I'll keep on doing everything within my ability to be better. I'm with Blackhoof on this, we do more than just tolerate you. As for calling you out on stuff, i got that covered. (Not that I myself am nothing but sunshine and flowers all the time, so i understand the sentiment.)
Comatose he/him Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Thanks. I suppose that I have a tendency to trivialize the good things that I bring to the table (willingness to change, a few other things) when confronted with something bad (tendency towards harshness). Regardless, I'll still try to improve. On another note, I want to make sure that all of you know that when I compliment writing or a certain behavior, I mean it. I firmly believe that awesome actions should be recognized, and I do that. However, I worry that my earnestness in taking positive note of things can be seen as inorganic. So, please know that I mean every word, that every positive comment comes from the heart. A problem comes when that same passion warps into harshness when I dislike something, as I've done before. Maybe I'm being paranoid that my recognition has been interpreted as disingenuous. Still, it's worth clarifying. I'd also echo what others are saying. From everything I've seen, you're a great addition to the community, and your feedback, both praise and constructive criticism, always seems sincere to me .

Which should hopefully be soon.
Voidus Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Ok, looks like it'll be another 2-3 weeks before our internet is fully working, in the meantime I'll try to steal some wifi when possible and get a post or two up.Also I have now added another 1800 Epics to my list because I've been going slowly insane without regular shard access.*Twitches violently* 1

Also that's alot of Epics, yet I am not suprised.

Edgedancer he/him Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Finding Nemo is getting a sequel? Huh, interesting. On another note, just out of curiosity, how many of the people here are actually up to speed with major comics?
