Verre

Kae emerged from the depths tailor’s shop with defeat written across his face. He turned, closed the door, and walked across the street to where Verre was sitting.

Verre stood up. She didn’t bother to ask how things had gone with the tailor-- she already knew the answer. “Next place?”

Kae nodded. “Five doors down from here.”

Verre glanced at the rest of the street. Multiple wooden buildings occupied both sides of the tailor’s shop, and a few had signs hanging from them “Left or right?” Verre asked.

“The tailor didn’t specify,” Kae said. “I think it’s to the right, towards the red sign.”

Verre looked at the sign on the tailor’s shop again. Looking for worker, it said. Fitter/sewer/alterations.

“Kae,” Verre said. “What job did you tell Mr. Beasley you wanted?”

“Accountant, of course,” Kae said. “Why?”

Verre pointed at the sign. “He’s looking for a tailor. Did you even read the sign?”

“Of course,” Kae said. “But I can’t sew.”

Verre facepalmed. “Did you ever consider trying to, you know, get the job that was available, and not the one that nobody in this area needs?”

“Nope,” Kae said cheerfully. “That would be false advertising.”

Verre facepalmed again. “You go check the other place,” Verre said. “I’ll see if I can find a job with Mr. Beasley.”

Only about 2 more days left to sign up!

I'll be updating the player list tomorrow when I'm on an actual computer. Also, spring break.

I loved being a Kandra the first iteration of this game, and look forward to playing it again. I'm hoping my schedule clears up a bit, since it has been inhibitive for HttFE and the awesome University LG. But the cycles are pretty darn long in this one, so I'll sign up as ArSel, a guy that is totally normal but got a funny name from his parents. That combined with his superior height and awesome red hair have caused others to discriminate against him out of jealousy.

How will PMs work in this game?

Can we just assume that it's going to be like last time, and provided there is a copper ferring alive, PM's are unrestricted, and PM groups can be made?

Also, has a rollover time been decided on?

Posted (edited)

Make that assumption, although I will check with phatt.

Rollover has not been decided. I believe my fellow GMs are both currently on break. Sorry! If no one's responded by tomorrow, I'll arbitrarily decide one.

EDIT: We currently have half of the number of people in the original game. This is a little bit sad.

So, doing a diff of the LG11 and LG19 rules:

- aMalatium straight out tells you an action that they didn't use, rather than a hint.

- Feruchemical tin now specifies that there it's the most recent 5 game-relevant words. Is that just clarification, or could you get complete nonsense last time?

- Spectators who wish to be Mistwraith don't join the spectator doc.

Most other changes are terminology related due to the setting. So basically unchanged.

There are 9 areas, each connected by streets.

You can use an action period to attempt to move to a different area, or to attempt to block a street. If there are as many people blocking a street as there are trying to pass through it, none of the travelers are successful. If more try to pass through than try to block, the travelers are all successful.

Traveling is successful if # of travelers + charges of steel tapped > # of blockers + charges of iron tapped.

How will we know where we are on the map? Will locations be named? (ex: top right corner, middle, middle left, etc) How far can we move in one action period?

Are all of the locations connected by streets, or can we only move vertically through the left-most locations?

1. You will be told because you moved there. And if you forget at some point, we can tell you again.

2. They may be given names, but if not they will be referred to as A1-C3, with letters for columns and numbers for rows. See diagram below.

3. You may move one room per action period, if you're not blocked.

4. I'm almost certain that that was just a formatting problem. There should be a line connecting each X. I'm going to try to do it properly, but we'll see if it works any better for me. (EDIT: IT WORKED!!)

You'll have to make a new spec doc then. Or accept my solemn oath to not read the spec doc once the game starts. But sure, I'll be a fogmistwraith.

I forgot I'd given you the link already. We likely will make another link just in case anyone else wants to jump out and be a mistwraith before the game starts. I would say that you're totally welcome to become a mistwraith at the moment!

Oh, a question: A pair of spikes can be charged by targetting NPC's. Can a normal spike be charged by targetting NPC's?

Posted (edited)

That's what I'd expect - Blessings don't convert, and they don't rely on specific powers. Slightly unblanced if you could spike awesome abilities out of NPCs.

All of the players will be Kandra with Twinborn powers, yes. :)

To be clear, I was referring to Wonko's verified villager + 2 Kandra group. Edited by Haelbarde

Welcome! They certainly are crazy fun. Fair warning for this game in particular though - if someone offers you cookies, it may be a bad idea to eat them...
