You mean actual geography or the geography-based labels the places get?

Mostly the labels. Seriously, Washington is Pacific Northwest, but eastern Washington is Inland Northwest while still being Pacific Northwest. California is just California, but there's also SoCal and wine country.

I give up.

I wrote only 500 words today, and erased 300, but I have described a character as having a smile that could decapitate a bear, so at least I feel more confident in my ability to use evocative metaphors.

That's Interesting imagery.

I'm just like, are his lips razor? Does he have a kiss of death? Do bear heads just start falling off when he's smiling?

Cause that's an interesting superpower.

It's certainly vivid :)

Now I'm imagining his yearbook picture. He's smiling, and beneath it is a single line:

"They made me smile for this, and eight bears died."

No, he is just a very large man with a very large smile that the narrator doens't trust at all.

The scary characters in my story tend to have creepier manners than looks.

Um….both? :P It's more west of the middle, actually; "midwest" usually refers to states like Ohio, Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin….states that don't fit into "southeast" or "northeast." "West" usually means states like Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, the Dakotas, and Montana—states typically considered "cowboy country." "Southwest" is Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas—states with a strong Mexican influence on their cuisine and other parts of their culture—and "Pacific Northwest" is Washington and Oregon.

This map is highly accurate. :P

And even with general geographic terms it all depends on where you're from. :P (We talked about this in my Human Geography class- perceptual regions. Quite an interesting subject.)

I was going to describe how I see regions but it's easier to use Paint. (See attachment.) Basically like that, though there's several more, not to mention regions that overlap ("east coast", "west coast", etc) and ones that change slightly depending on the situation ("midwest", "south", etc).

Basically, the United States are very large. :P

It is very difficult to take biology homework seriously when there are things called Natural Killer Cells that live in your body. And TLRs are not the Lord Ruler, even if that substitution makes the homework much more entertaining.

And I definitely didn't save all four packets of biology homework that I had all of break to do for this afternoon. Why would I do that?  :P

Vacation homework is cruel and unusual, in my opinion. I much prefer the college method, where breaks are actually gaps between quarters or semesters, so professors can't give homework as their classes are either finished or haven't started yet*.

*This, sadly, does not prevent professors from giving "introductory" assignments to be completed over break. However, in my experience, these are rare and often small.

Why did I first read that as "it is very difficult to kill biology homework seriously."

Why?

WHY?!!?!??,

I must become... something else."

I heard Wonderwall by Oasis for the first time in a while right after finishing The Well of Ascension.

New Headcanon: Romantic!Zane wrote it for Vin: "You're gonna be the one who saves me"

Here's one song that reminds me of Zane:

'Cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream.

And here is Vin's response:

Loving your illusions, staring at a crooked crown.

See, now, Kansas is part of the Midwest, but I'm not sure that we can claim Ohio.  They're just so...east.

I feel like states in the middle of the country would get claustrophobic.

Well, they're all, like, really big.  The same size as many European countries.  We've got a stupid lot of space out here in the States is what I'm saying.

This made me think of you, Morzathoth.

Because a house out of flesh is something I would come up with, because I am sweet like gingerbread or because I am confusing and surreal?

Either way... I'll take that as a compliment.

GAK!! I'm going back to school tomorrow. So long reasonable amounts of sleep. :(

And my solution is of course to wake up half an hour early to run... Brilliant, I know. :P
