.S.A.M.K.M Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 It is believed those five are the ones who will get books dedicated to them, filled with flashbacks showing their back story.
.S.A.M.K.M Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I believe that every one of the five will at least need to survive their book dedicated to themselves, before they die. That way if they die after, their second book can be created via flash backs. I do belive some of these five will die in the series at least.
Guest Alaxel Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 S.A.M.K.M., I'm dying to know the meaning behind your name. It reminds of an acronym I used to know. It was, "Suppress. Assess. Move. Kill." And it was a rough guideline for how to operate in combat. Shoot a whole lot of bullets at your enemy, check and see if you did/are able to kill them from where you are, if not then move closer/to a better spot and kill them from there. Any semblance to your username?
.S.A.M.K.M Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 It is actually my initials, So the Highprince of war is not the only target, all of them so to cause the most chaos as possible. This seems like a long term project, as the only time they are gathered are at parties, and there would simply be too many to fight. If he goes after them seperatly, the later ones will get warnings.
ddleg Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I would prefer dalinars book sooner. it would be interesting to see flashbacks of his visit to the nightwatcher. and learn what his boon was
Shardbearer he/him Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Also, I believe that it has been confirmed that Eshonai will get an interlude chapter for each set of interludes in the book...so yeah, she's the explorer.
cris34b he/him Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I personally wouldn't mind a Jasnah book. Seeing as the flashback we got of her was a super interesting look into the less-than-usual and very direct way in which Elsecallers develop their Surges. Also, Jasnah's shadow moved towards the light.. So does an Aiman's. The shadow was probably just her Spren, but its still an interesting thought. Hmm, this has convinced me to look further into Axies. He seems too important to just be a random character, having shown up in the Rysn interlude as well. I don't expect him to get his own book, not by a long shot, but I think he'll show up at least once or twice in each book for a while until either the end, until he teaches one of the main characters something important, or until he shows us a huge insight to the world of spren, which, seeing as how WoR will be Shadesmar intensive, he just might give us this insight soon. 1
Meamzed Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) Selling adolin for explorer… reasons for this? Because he is one of the Main 4 POVS in book 1… Why include him if not for something awesome Seriously though, I believe it will be Eshonai, because she mentions wanting to explore, and because she will become a major player in the series as it pans out ( I believe so anyway) . Edited for seplling, and other objects of import. Edited February 12, 2014 by Meamzed
Moogle Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) Why include him if not for something awesome Because every epic fantasy series needs the equivalent of Gawyn Trakand? Edited February 12, 2014 by Moogle
The Count he/him Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) Because every epic fantasy series needs the equivalent of Gawyn Trakand? Harsh... Adolin isn't nearly as stupid, ignorant or annoying as Gawyn! Although I do think he needs to get over himself for sure. Edited February 12, 2014 by The Count
Kaladin Kal he/him Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) The Explorer is not adolin its a "she". Just saw the synopsis from the back of the book(not exactly the book. Saw it in the wiki actually ). The Explorer, straddling the fates of two peoples, forced to choose between slow death and a terrible betrayal of all she believes. It is past time for them to awaken, for the Everstorm looms. I think its Eshonai as she might have realized, Odium have been fooling pareshendi all along....!!!. Guys what you all think ? AerionBFII he/him Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Kaladin is the Windrunner, Shallan is the lightweaver, Dalinar is the bondsmith, Szeth is the assassin and Eshonai is the explorer.
Moogle Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 (edited) What if Renarin is the bondsmith? ... Brilliant. "The Bondsmith, born in blood and death, striving to rebuild what was destroyed." Dalinar was never born in blood and death. He doesn't have a spren, and I always found the idea of Dalinar getting one ridiculous. However, Renarin does have a spren. There's about to be a lot of blood and death in WoR... I am espousing this theory. I can't believe I never thought of it. It's not certain, but I am no longer fully confident Dalinar is the Bondsmith. Edited February 21, 2014 by Moogle
Elbereth she/her Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 ... Brilliant. "The Bondsmith, born in blood and death, striving to rebuild what was destroyed." Born in blood and death could refer to 3 things:-Tower battle -WoR event -Gavilar's death
Moogle Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Born in blood and death could refer to 3 things: -Tower battle -WoR event -Gavilar's death And what was destroyed? Alethkar was never really a united nation under Gavilar, and Dalinar hasn't even begun working to reform the Radiants - I wouldn't even say they were "destroyed". On the other hand, with the Everstorm (probably) about to destroy the vast majority of the Alethi... I think things are set up perfectly for Renarin or somebody to rebuild the Alethi nation.
Elbereth she/her Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I was just suggesting things for the first half. For the 'destroyed' part, I think that he's striving to rebuild the Knights Radiant. I don't know that they were destroyed, but we just don't know enough to say. Renarin is an interesting possibility, though. We'll see.

She didn't die during childbirth, did she? Edit: Apparently not, Renarin mentions remembering a story she told him when he was a child. But then, there is the seemingly corresponding bit on the cover flap that names Dalinar. keltik Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 I seem to be alone in this idea and I admit I am only halfway through WoR but I think Wit is the explorer. Further more I think he can light weave like shall an. Thoughts?
natc Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 He's been lightweaving since Warbreaker and probably earlier (I think even in Liar or Partinel?). Nothing special about that. It doesn't even seem to run on stormlight. Also, Patrick Star get over here! I don't have a Thread Necromancy picture on my phone!
