I actually think this is a better idea. The receipt idea would require an overhaul of the point of sale software.

Another idea might be that, like with gift cards, the code needs to be activated. But that also runs into infrastructure problems.

Eh. Point of sale software isn't that difficult to make changes to.

Now, getting all of the locations to run the software update on all of their machines - that's a massive pain.

Being mandated by management to go to a training for a system pertaining to best practices for IT departments that hinges on specific pieces to work properly that are the very pieces that management (who mandated the training remember) refuses to implement and/or enforce. It's like Groundhog Day only there's no Bill Murray or jokes.

Pet peeve- having to wait for OB. 9 hours, 15 minutes

Good for you. Im waiting for international post. Might take another two weeks.

I'll get it in 2-3 weeks, on the bright side I finish my exams in 2 weeks, so when OB finally comes I will have tons of free time to read it.

My cats keep knocking over the kitchen garbage can. I think they're just trying to get me to blame my dog, but they should at least check if the dog is next to me first!

People watching videos on their phones, in public, with the sound on and no headphones. Just plain rude!

Israeli post. Oathbringer still hasn't arrived. :(

The struggle is real. I had a rather unpleasant experience with the israeli postal system a couple of years back. You would think that they would care about the quality of their service, but apparently common sense need not apply.

The annoying thing is, the physical book might be sitting in the post office but I have to wait till they deign to send a petek (heh sounds like ketek) to get it! Meanwhile the main reactions and spoilery goodness are all happening now and I'm majorly fomo :(

@Ookla the Delightful why not read an ebook while waiting?

Look at Mestiv with his programmer's money! Able to afford a physical AND electronic copy!

Well, your blood money can't buy you the dignity of the working class! And when we stand up, United, we shall never be divided! We shall march until we have seized the means of production!

How do you feel towards people that own the e-book, physical book (hardback), audiobook, and the mass market paperback (when its available)?

Can the Bourgeoisie Sanderson fan and the Proletariat Sanderson fan live in peace together?

But I have only the ebook version :P I'll get the physical one for Christmas and it'll only be a part of the whole book, as OB is split in two parts in Poland.

Because I mostly read on Shabbat, when most electronics are forbidden. Nothing beats a physical book on Shabbat.

Plus, money.

Edit: Speaking of which, Shabbat Shalom everyone!

@Ookla the Delightful Sorry you're stuck waiting on your copy of OB! That's pretty rotten.

My pet peeve for today is the feeling of having an eyelash stuck next to my eye. Every time I go to brush it away or look in the mirror to locate it, there's nothing there! Agh.

That's because it's your eye lid that's stuck.

I hate my parents restrictions on how much I can use the wifi. It peeves me so much

How does that work? I'm megabytes or in minutes? Is there a reason for it?

Fruit flavored candy canes.

It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't somehow taking over the market. It's getting harder and harder to find properly minty ones. I are distress.

Minutes, specifically hours. 2 hours a day. They do it to prevent me from sitting on my phone all day. They also have a content filter, but I don't really care about that.

I'm able to get around it if I set up my VPN before time runs out, or before my "bedtime" when my WiFi shuts off for the day.

But still, it's so ANNOYING. Even more so when I'm trying to do something productive, like my math homework, and I'm doing it on my laptop, and they keep needing to extend my time so i can get it done. And I'm just like whyyyyy.

One relatively minor pet peeve I've found especially relevant recently is when I read faster than anyone I know irl, but not quite as fast as a lot of my online peeps, so I'm never quite on the same page (hehe puns) as everyone else.
