I wonder how much of the text is going to change? Will descriptions of Kae be adjusted to reflect the new, more-accurate reality?

Mistborn Spoilers

Am I the only person considering going through the two copies side-by-side, seeking out Ruin's influence?

It should be up to date.

Windy has noted to me there are two Eon plantations on the map. Is that... a mistake?

OF COURSE NOT! We have always been at war with Eastasia!

I've immediately head-cannoned the two provinces into being North and South Eon (or more accurately Ato and Toa Eon).

Also, Rose Barbarians? As in, the Rose Empire?

If we assume that the area the Rose Barbarians are indicated as occupying is indeed the Rose Empire, then I wonder about two things:

1) Why didn't Nazh include more details about the Rose Empire? Did he not explore the northern continent much at this time and instead probably came back later when The Emperor's Soul took place? Why would he not explore the northern continent more, since Teod is there and so close?

2) How are the MaiPon and Jindoeese so closely related ethnically? They seem to be separated by a lot of distance on the map. Did the MaiPon/Jindoeese ancestors control a lot more territory before and lose their land to newer ethnic groups over time and thus splinter off into two distinct groups? If so, would that mean that MaiPon people and Jindoeese have the sDNA necessary to become Elantrians if they were to spend time in Arelon, which I'd assume to be part of the former territory of their ancient kingdom?

Off the top of my head (and from the Coppermind) the Jindoeese were originally part of the Rose Empire/resided in MaiPon but for some reason, they separated at an indeterminate time.

I think Nazh's wording is quite interesting. If we assume 'minor SA spoilers'

that he acquired/saved Shallan/Jasnah's papers through Roshar's Shadesmar

, with us knowing that Selish Shadesmar is dangerous to traverse, then it could also be possible he did the same here (that or the Ars Arcanum author just left him inside Fjordell or something, as they were distracted/more interested in the magic system)

I know technically I may not need to spoiler here, but I'll stray on the safe side.

One catch though, is in the annotations. Brandon mentioned that he thought the chasm was too obvious in the map, but decided to leave it be. Well, they seem to have toned down the chasm line in the Arelon map, but with the new Elantris map, they've got a fairly obvious partial Aon Rao (or is it just me? I don't know.) But, apart from that, I think they're awesome.

Also a reference to where exactly the Rose Empire is, which is nice, even if it is only with question marks.

EDIT: Regarding Nazh - I think usually he might have the ability to worldhop, but can't because Sel is 'tricky' somehow?

So I'm thinking that this means that TES takes place much later than Elantris, since this map indicates that they are considered barbarians.

People call each other barbarians all the time on Earth though. Plus Sel is literally a Shardworld that functions, more or less, through being racist.

The map was most likely made in Fjorden, and if that's the case, then I wouldn't be surprised if all Nazh was able to get out of them about the Rose Empire is "oh, it's just the Rose barbarians up there" or something to that effect.

Eh it takes place after, but not that long. When asked about it Brandon has said "It's not so long after that the technology level has change" and "It's not so long after that there aren't Elantris characters still around".

Is Raoden drawing the Chasm Line altered from the original book? I ask because it doesn't seem to match the version drawn by Brandon, the basis for that thread with the alerted Aons.
