Mestiv he/him Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 They don't have to lower the bubble at all if they don't want to, particularly if theres an angry Epic waiting outside or just create more stringent procedures like only leaving the bubble up for the time it takes the authorized entries to come in (So about 10 seconds) So not that big a window unless she's pushed right up against the bubble and knows when its coming down. She can launch herself with kinetic energy to the top of the bubble and sit there waiting This way she wouldn't miss even the shortest bubble drop.
Kobold King he/him Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Oh and Kobold, Elsa is back in a cell, right? Absolutely, unless Baxter wanted to keep her close by for observation. In which case there'll be guards who'll poke her with more holes than Chrysalis if she so much as conjures a snowflake.

I can't talk for Silver or Comatose, but freeing herself seems like it should be a higher priority than getting her revenge, especially given that the bubble (which again she might not even know about, given she just popped into the city) staying up is not a given, seeing how it's kind of vital for Rainmaker's system. Absolutely, unless Baxter wanted to keep her close by for observation. In which case there'll be guards who'll poke her with more holes than Chrysalis if she so much as conjures a snowflake. Nah, he'd feel sorry for her and patch her up but she hasn't exactly acted reasuring yet to take the risk of sheltering her, for a guy that couldn't really defend against her. By the way, how are we going to continue the scene with Shiny Sparkle going to visit Vondra's office (and meeting Deathwish before that, I supposse?). Edited August 20, 2015 by Edgedancer
Mestiv he/him Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Well, she entered Corvallis in a similar fashion if I remember correctly, falling from some height, and stopping herself just above the ground by absorbing her own kinetic energy. EDIT: oh, I think I missunderstood. Because the 9 miles thing doesn't mean anything to me Now, as I think of 14,5 kilimeters, Blaze's post makes more sense to me that would be a very uncomfortable wait Edited August 20, 2015 by Mestiv
Voidus Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 She can launch herself with kinetic energy to the top of the bubble and sit there waiting This way she wouldn't miss even the shortest bubble drop. Then drop right on top of the center of the city (Or more likely blown straight back out by Rainmaker) and that's assuming she's willing to wait for 24 hours and doesn't eat, drink or sleep during that time.

Voidus Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Hah, sorry for my English unit ways. The 9 miles was more in regards to breathing than the fall. Yeah that's like twice the height of Everest, I don't think theres enough oxygen to even stay alive, it's not even in the troposphere anymore.

I actually looked into this when Comatose and I were discussing the bubble's size. It's ridiculously high. Depending on what source you look at, it's either near the top of the troposphere, or near the bottom-middle of the stratosphere. Edited August 20, 2015 by Blaze1616

Well if i were to make a post it would mostly consist of her walking into Vondra's office/Deathwish and maybe teasing her escorts a bit, so it seems like the best choice for you to make a post and ending it with Shiny's entry. Personally, I'd vote walking into Deathwish first, given that I'm not sure yet if there's still going to be an opportunity for them to meet each other afterwards.

This actually reminds me, Nevertheres range is big enough that she could pretty much reach space.

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 And that is when Calamity decided to hide himself from Epics as well as humans.
Voidus Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 The ISS crew all decided to risk just jumping back to earth after Nevertheres constant appearances. 2
Mestiv he/him Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 As Summer and Drainer got their ponies, I decided, that Argon might want one too. So behold! Ponified Argon: 6

Mailliw73 he/him Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Well Backtrack's impression would have been mostly about her pantsing a fuy and making pretty eyes at Frostfire, so maybe not the best reference. If only there was someone leaving the Dalles more interested in a woman's... positive qualities. Something different about the Flashpoint post (aside from it being a good post). I'm not sure if it makes sense for rounds themselves to be homing, given that would require an aiming mechanism, something to change the bullets trajetory without costing momentum, a computer to calculate for those two devices (assuming they aren't run on Motivators, which I think we can agree would be wasteful in bullets themselves and much too expensive) all of that small/light enough to fit in a bullet yet durable enough to survive being fired. Now excuse me as my brain tries to figure out the economics from seven cells, most of which is from no name minor Epics vs two (or was it three?) from High Epics killed by the Reckoners versus purchased merchandise. You know, that's a very good point. But if Flashpoint ever met Reader, knowing that Emma pantsed him would only make him like her more. That's true. Motivators for bullets wouldn't make sense. Would something like a motivator from an Epic who could make any bullet he shot hit whatever he was aiming at, used in a gun make more sense? I purposely made that number random and figured that Gunz won't be too pushy about it because unlike the Reckoners, Altermind could destroy him and suffer no consequences other than losing a dealer.

Fair point. Sounds more reasonable, although it would probably make most sense to shift around the flamethrower, so it does need an energy source just not actual fuel, so that it becomes less valuable to someone without an electric Epic like Flashpoint, to dumpr the prize. (Although that would mean it would only really be without a need for fuel in Flashpoint's hands.) Except from no other dealer ever making buisness with him and instead selling exclusively to Corpsemaker and potentially Lightwards after their alliance breaks. Robbing arms dealers while in a turf war hasn't become any smarter in the last couple of pages.

An illusionist of AM's skill could get away with basically anything. 1

Voidus Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 I think its more likely that weapons dealers would just refuse to visit Portland.

Seems like a good couple of points people could catch on to. The weapons dealers don't have the resources to launch a full-scale investigation, and even if they did, Altermind could simply supply their oh-so-easily duped senses with whatever information he wants. As for the weapons, it shouldn't be too hard to stage a scenario in which he "captures" the weapons back from CorpseMaker. Heck, he could easily make a profit by selling them back to the dealers, or prove himself to be trustworthy by giving back "all the ones he recovered" for free. Sure, some shrewd dealers might suspect they're being played, but they'd never find any proof, and they have no reason to trust Altermind over CorpseMaker anyway.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) It sounds like Gunz has been marketing his wares in Portland for a while without Altermind burning down his shop and looting his weapons, so he's had a chance to set up a covert customer base. So if Lightwards were to loot that shop now, he'd catch the attention of not only Altermind, but any other Epics who had been buying from Gunz before his arrival.
