Do you believe in life on other planets?

If you could send one message to an interstellar alien civilization, what would it be?

Sure. I mean, I don't have any working theories about extraterrestrials, but I don't see why there couldn't be life on other planets.

What makes pugs such awesome creatures, in your opinion?

Well, part of it is the personality I mentioned. Two pugs can be as different in personality as two people, making their interactions together hilarious. They're also the most expressive dogs I've ever met. Just watch this pug getting scolded.

Or this pug giving his opinion on different foods.

And they're so curious about the world around them, as is demonstrated by this pug meeting a duck.

I could go on this way for a while, finding different videos that demonstrate how amazing pugs are, but really, the best answer I can give you is that they just are. They're just awesome, loyal, sweet, caring, rambunctious, surprisingly smart little dogs, and I love them all.

I love Owl City. Some of his songs are a bit too bubblegum for my tastes, but there are others I absolutely adore. "Galaxies," "Hello Seattle," "Hot Air Balloon" and "The Saltwater Room" are some of my favorites. Not only do I love the catchiness of those songs, but I love their sense of innocence.

SWEET CELESTIA

I'd never heard "Galaxies" before now, but it's my new favorite song now. :D :D

EDIT: Darn, forgot to ask a question again. Um, who is best pony?

Doctor Whooves. And Fluffy Clouds. And Tree Hugger. And Luna. And Derpy.

Were you surprised by Oregon's success?

I was, actually. I'm not entirely sure why….I mean, I was excited when people joined, and excited that so many people did, but I never expected it to take off the way it did.

Also, I spent all of yesterday thinking it was actually the 13th, so when I saw this post, I thought it was from the future. Or at least dated that way.

….I think I need more sleep.

Hi! Have you finished Words of Radiance?

Not yet. You'd probably be dismayed if you saw how little progress I've made….then again, it means I haven't skipped huge chunks for Memes of Radiance or anything….

When's the next Stormmeme Archive?

And any Oregon anniversary insanity?

Tomorrow, probably. I meant to do it today, but I got…distracted.

The Oregon anniversary will be insanity. B)

If you had to choose between being locked in a room with Koschei the Deathless for five minutes, or with Quota for ten, what would your decision be and what kind of gun would you bring with you?

Both. I would allow Quota to torment me for five minutes--which would suck, but if I gave him the reaction he wanted, he'd think nothing of it when Koschei walked through the door. Furious that someone else was eliciting more fear than he, Koschei would kill Quota, giving me just enough time to grab Quota's pistol, shoot Koschei, and make a quick getaway before he could resurrect. Once outside the room, I would give Remington Koschei's weakness.

Probably Park City. My parents always talk about the snow and the trees when they go, so I'd probably pick Park City because of that. (Yes I'm horribly shallow don't judge me.

Park City is definitely very cool. One of the prettiest places in the state, IMO.

How did you think up Funtimes?

I've never watched Futurama, but I'm already sure I'd rather be locked in a room with Zoidberg than with Koschei or Quota. :P

Why not just bring Remington with you? (With both weaknesses)

You don't necessarily need Quota's weakness to take him down, since he has no PI and no real defensive powers. I'd definitely want Remington with me, but if I took him in, Quota would know something was up.

How did you think up Funtimes?

Well, I started out by wondering what Fortuity's opposite would be like, and I got a bubbly female Epic who likes pink. Then I put that basic concept into the whoosie-whatsit with some flappity-floo and some whoopity-whee and gave it a little spunny-spinny-spin and I got….

…that.

Truth be told, I'm not entirely sure how all the components of her personality and powers came to be. They just sort of…fell together for me. But that's how it is with most of my characters—they start out as vague concepts and then just….sort of….come to be. I couldn't describe the process if I tried.

Her backstory, though, actually started out much differently than its current form. After Firefight was released, with its revelations about Epic psychology and patterns in weaknesses, I wound up scrapping the only backstory scene I'd written for her, rethinking the entire concept, bashing my head into a wall a lot, and finally landing on the current angle I'm pursuing. All in all, though, I think Firefight improved her backstory quite a bit. The original scene I had wasn't quite working, though I got it to the point where it almost did; but once I landed on the right post-Firefight angle, everything else in her backstory just clicked.

Did you see the last episode if Phineas and Ferb?

If so, has "When Tomorrow Is This Morning Again" been stuck in your head ever since? :P

I have not seen it yet, and I'm not sure I'm ready to say goodbye to that amazing series. (Yes, I know it's been going on for eight years now and the writers want to quit while they're ahead. I admire them for that choice. It's a bold move, in a world where well-liked TV shows can continue for decades with no sign of stopping. But that doesn't mean I'm not more than a bit sad about it.)

If you had to live on an abandoned island in the the middle of the ocean for the rest of your life and could have:

-One type of food to eat? Drink? (Besides water)

-One Series to read?

-One cellphone (plus one cellphone number) of someone you could talk to?

-One pet to bring with you?

-One random item that you would bring to an island?

What would they be?  :)

I know this isn't my AMA, but... A jetpack to get off the island? A raft to get off the island? A (insert thing here) to get off the island?

Okay..... my bad.... I should have been more specific. I meant something sentimental or something like a weapon. These questions are presented, assuming that you CAN'T get off the island...  ;)

It is definitely worth watching. It ties up the whole series with a nice little bow.

Food and drink: Popeye's spinach and Captain America's super serum.

Series: Golden Age Superman comics, with all of his totally insane creative solutions to everyday problems.

Cell number: Coast Guard.

Pet: Giant eagle.

Random item: Syndrome's zero-point energy beams.

I know it's with the understanding that I wouldn't leave, but don't stop a Slytherclaw from trying. ;)

I'm just sitting here pondering the horrible malnutrition consequences of only having one type of food to eat.

Which is why I'd take along some superpower-granting "food" that would aid in my escape back to a more nutritionally balanced civilization.
