Well, I truly do like Kaladin, (fangirling away, swoon) but I'm not sure he would make for the best boyfriend, especially since we would have the fact of me being lighteyed to get over. If that failed, I think I would go for Shallan, she's interesting and nerdy, and I wouldn't mind that. But dreamy Kaladin is still my first choice.

I'll take an Adolin to go, please (for reasons listed on a previous page). Regarding the competition, he's already pissed off just about every girl in the world, so...that won't be a problem, will it?  :P

I've always had a soft spot for Kaladin, but I agree, he doesn't seem like good relationship material at the moment. Lightsong would be fun just to have as a friend.

I would have gone for Shallan until I read the scene where

she slowly murdered her father by strangling him while singing a lullaby

that is kind of freaked me out. I get that she was psychologically damaged by her family situation. I get that her father was a man who deserved to die. But doing it in that way just makes me cringe.

Now Imwould have to say that Serene seems perfect. She is funny, witty, smart, thinks outside the box, and will always keep me on my toes in the best of ways.

I don't know, maybe someone who ISN"T A MURDERER.  :P

Does it make me a bad person that I can ignore that?

Sirce, I know that was a rather shocking scene, but at the same time, I felt it gave the reader a better connection to the character.

I understand the scene, and the characterization that plays through it. My adrenaline was pumping during it both for Shallan and her father and I felt a big connection at that point. He had to die and it had to be by Shallan's hand. That scene still freaked me out though. She had other means to kill her father, but I do realize that they way she did it allowed her to purge all of the emotion from the years and finally break free of her father. I suppose that I need to repent in my judgements of her. I have never been, and hope to never be, in a situation like hers. I have no excuse to judge her without having set foot in her shoes.

Thank you Bort for reminding me of what I should be.

I suspect dating Vin would be fun for everyone around us to watch. Her personality- at least in the begining- is very, very similar to mine, and I imagine it would be a situation where we'd both be freaking out internally over everything we just did, everything we might do, and how this isn't going to work. It would be a train wreck, but as I say, if you like watching them, it might be fun for everyone around us to watch that relationship implode.

If I was being serious about it... probably Vivenna. I think she is one of the most interesting characters in the cosmere.

I thought that entire scene was pretty moving. Seeing another dead mother, the rather one-sided sword fight between Shallan's father and Balat, the unlucky strike which broke the soulcaster instead of running her father through, the poisoning, and how it didn't entirely work, all leading up to her choking him with the very necklace he had bought her, while singing the same lullaby to him as he sang to her after her mother was killed.

The end of WoR, when you find out that he sang that song to her when her mother died put an emphasis on her father's death scene. You realise exactly why she didn't want to kill him, beyond the obvious 'he's my father, of course I don't want to kill him'.

After polling said ginger hubby, he would go for Vivenna out of all the female characters.

The hubby speaks the truth. Unless it were before the whole "character development" thing. After though...

Agreed.  Vivenna is one of those characters I was so annoyed with in the beginning, but with the lessons she learned, I ended up loving her in the end.

I think Lopen would be a lot of fun. What he might lack in looks/stature, he more than makes up for with his enthusiasm and optimism. He's clever and good hearted, and his atrocious puns are pretty much right up my alley.

Wayne is a pretty close tie, though, for pretty much all the same reasons. I like 'em goofy.

Vin, I mean, I don't think anything would come of it but she's really cool and I dig short hair :) Also, I agree with Wayne, "I like a girl who can rip my face off".

Marasi would probably work better in a lot of ways though hahaha

I'd have to go for Khriss, just cause I'm into the whole all-knowing-powerful-thing. :D

I hope Taldain has nice weather. I'm mean with a book called White Sand the place sounds lovely. Paradise and all the mysteries of the Cosmere ripe for the picking, sounds like a good place, as long as Bav isn't holding some plague shard or something . . .

Be careful about spoilers.  The specifics of White Sand are things you're not supposed to talk about due to its unpublished nature.  Other than names, I didn't know several things you mentioned, so just be careful...  Thanks!

I've gotta admit: I'd be lying if I claimed not to harbor an unrequited crush on Mizzy from Firefight. She dots her 'i's with little hearts even while plotting to assassinate the world's most dangerous supervillains. What a gal.

I can't say I fancy many of Brandons female characters. The one I would probably pick is Allrianne. She's this pink little thing, as Vin describes her, but that hides a very perceptive woman and I like that quality in a girl. Most of Brandons female characters are very 'first impression' kind of girls, but Allrianne(if I spell her correctly) is actually a girl, that is able to see the good in a man as is the story with Breeze. She also has a very bright personality, that is also something I enjoy. BUT she is with Breeze and he's a bro, so that's a no go.

The other one is Siri, I find her similar, but she's with SusebroN and that's a no go too...

I guess what I'm trying to say is, that I dislike girls and people in general with brooding personalities, not to mention girls who have guy personalities. I like positive girls with bubbly and feminine personalities.

Yeah sorry, for some reason I can't place a spoiler tag. I guess this information has become general knowledge for me, so i wasn't sure how sensitive it really would be. I don't get why I can't seem to put spoiler tags on though. Maybe its my device, I'm not sure.

I think that those things are fine. I haven't read White Sand, but it's all on the Coppermind, right? Bavadin is on Taldain, where White Sand takes place, and Khriss is from that planet. Not much of a spoiler from what I can tell.

[nerdAlert]

I'm looking forward to my math final this Friday! Woohoo! (This is a true thing.)

[/nerdAlert]

Have you tried the above method? Except you should type the singular "spoiler" instead of "nerdAlert".

And I though I might like Khriss,I really enjoy reading Jasnah's character. The way that Jasnah is treated, the way she treats others, the way she speaks, thinks... I get it. How is Sanderson so good at understanding people? It's amazing.

Are you using Internet Explorer? Because I couldn't do any kinds of tags until I switched to Firefox (Chrome is OK too, I am actually using that right now).

EDIT: @Curiosity

What kind of math is it? Just ... curious

Integral calculus

Nice.

I am currently doing my take-home Linear Topology exam. Fun stuff.

(don't say anything, because then I would be cheating)

Easiest question ever. Shai of course.

I would have her make a blonde, redhead and brunette Essence Mark with varying personalities of course. Variety is the spice of life.

Is that a question? Probably any.

But mostly probably Kaladin, Kelsier, Shallan, or Raoden.

I'm guessing that when you say "any" you're excluding Sadeas, Straff Venture, Rayse, and a few others I could name. :P
