I think soldiers from his squad, since they'd also know what warning signs to watch for. I can see it either way, but if he's imprisoned for losing control, the glass wall seems likely to me. Although I can also see them being in a room with a door leading back to his cell, though not separated from each other, to give the impression that they're willing to try trusting him again.

Then it boils down to trusting Autumn wants to be. From a meta standpoint I can tell you that he won't attack her but Autumn naturally doesn't know that 100% in charcter.

OK, so in the last few posts several people have talked to Arsenal, and it hasn't been very clear in what order they were talking. Outlining the next Arsenal post in my head, I've arranged the speakers loosely as such:

  • Ozymandias  (Since he was the one Arsenal was speaking too)
  • Scribbler
  • Reader

Does that sound about right, or at least workable?

Seems about right to me, also now Elsa has also butted in with a rather autoriative reaction, but given her just snapping out of her flashback you're free to place as much back as you want.

Possible Astoria Epic:

Potus

Real Name: Samuel Slater

Primary Power: Mind control/hypnosis of up to 13 people (for the 13 original colonies, of course!). He has to make eye contact with a victim to take control. They are caught up in a fit of patriotic zeal, which lasts for a maximum of 50 hours (for the 50 states). Potus can break control at will before this, however.

Secondary Power: Ability to pull firearms and small explosives out of thin air.

Passive Power: Prime Invincibility. Comes in the form of a danger sense. When he receives a normally fatal blow-injury-etc., he explodes into red, white, and blue fireworks, then regenerates in the nearest official government building. The explosion does free all those under his mind control, however.

Personality/Motive: Samuel Slater was always a staunch American patriot, and the rise of Calamity only increased that zeal. Now, however, since the U.S. has been Fractured, he believes that it is his duty to restore the country. The Epic corruption still took effect, and now he considers himself the future president of the reunited nation.

So given the state the land is in what would a "fit of patriotic zeal" actually do and what still counts as an offical government building?

Tonight on Texas Rising, one of the Rangers gave a very creepy monologue about Parisian women. His partner's response? "You are a sinner, marked by a terrible stain. If you ever come near my sisters, I'll blow your head clean off."

If I ever meet Nighthound, Timeport, or Deathwish, that will be the first thing I say.

I like the partner already. :)

I pronounce it Kosh-ay

As do I and I know someone going by that name who pronounces it like that, so I assume it's at least the right pronounciation in germany.

Given how badly she doesn't want to have Death "I'm Going to Make Sleazy Puns about Guarding Your Body" wish as her bodyguard, she'd probably want to show him as much trust as possible at the outset in hopes he takes it as a positive sign that the City Guard is willing to take him back. She'd double check to ensure that there were plenty of sprinklers in working order, and that all other precautions were in place in case he snapped, but she'd rather give the impression that they're ready to welcome him back than let him know he's on a short leash.

Aside from being an all-around great show, it has some pretty awesome insults.

I've been pronouncing it KOHS-chay, but I'm now imagining that wall covered with a dozen other pronunciations. :P

Sounds reasonable.

Now I only need to find a way to watch it.

"So is Koschei back or not?"

"I'm not sure myself to be honest. One part of the wall even claims he's a cat now."

WOR spoilers

It was finally revealed that the entirety of Taravangians diagram was simply an attempt to discover the correct way to pronounce Koschei.

It's on the History Channel here, though I'm not sure how all the access and copyright stuff works over in Germany. I'm...still not entirely sure how it works here, to be honest. Some fan videos are allowed on YouTube, some are taken down due to "copyright issues," some shows like MLP stream for free, some you can't access without $50 and the blood of a virgin martini....it gets pretty frustrating sometimes.

"Well, the only non-scorched one says 'Koshchee is back but YOLO,' so I don't think we should take this seriously."

raritydespair.png But where could I even find the blood of a virgin in this economy...

...I mean, uh, yeah, it gets pretty ridiculous.

To be fair a lot of the copyright on youtube doesn't come from the owners of the shows themseves but simply from badly programmed bots scanning the videos for copyright-stricks.

"A resurection Epic that only lives once? This is strange indeed."

I pronounce it KOH-shee, and I didn't know there were so many others.:P

I've been pronouncing it KOES-chee or KOS-chee, at various times.

Or just "That guy with the circlet," which is equally as descriptive. :P

So that's why it makes so little sense!

"No, I think it means 'He's back, but you only live once'. It appears to be a threat."

"That is the worst threat ever."

Sigh "Guess that Backtrack guy finally got uppity. Should we arrest him?"

"He's kind of too sad to be a real bad guy…."

"Make him clean the graffiti?"

"Yeah, sounds good."

Yes, sadly. -_-

"Actually, what if another resurrection Epic read this message?"

"...Well... it's probably directed at Vondra or Springfield, so I don't think that really matters."

"And that bit about Frequency being back in town. Isn't that the guy who claimed that the old oak tree back in the yard is actually Koschei?"

"He did that?"

"Yup and once the same about a cloud that looked like him, apparently."

"Seems like this is a really bad one then."

Who here listents to writing excuses?

Posted (edited)

I listen to Writing Excuses.

And, for the record, I pronounce it "koh-SHAY". Though to be honest, my entire knowledge of the name before I read this and looked it up just now came from Doctor Who, and I've never actually heard it said aloud.

Why don't we just pronounce it "Kosher?" B)

Kobold, on a what if basis, what would Deathwish's reaction to being Autumn's bodyguard have been?

Sunquestion for Edge: Would the knowledge that Deathwish would be around Autumn all the time be enough to convince Shiny to kidnap him and deliver him to Salem?

Depends, if he treats Autumn too badly, (which I have no doubt he would do) then yes there's a pretty good chance she would do that. Otherwise, she'd enjoy the lack of security.

He'd have been disgruntled about the restriction of his free time... which would mean he'd vent out his frustrations by being an enormous slontze to her. -_-

Sounds about right. <_<

Which means Autumn would ultimately have had to call Vondra about Shiny Sparkle kidnaping her bodyguard.

And if she did that, Vondra would initiate Operation Assassinate Shiny Sparkle. Which might involve using Autumn as unwitting bait.

Looking back on it, the new plotline seems to hold a lot of potential for not causing everyone problems. A shame really.:P
