Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 As of the last update, twice. I think Nighthound made it seven or eight times. Nighthound and the Trifecta just about deserve another list all to themselves. (Speaking as someone who picked a random Portland page to re-read this morning and happened to hit the infamous Trifecta "game" scene.)
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 Here's what I remember having on the ATTD List: Nighthound Lucentia Timeport Nighthound Miner Ironmonger Nighthound Timeport Electro Quota Nighthound Lucentia Lightwards Koschei Timeport Nighthound Quota Electro I think Quota needs another entry, and Deathwish definitely needs to be added. Iconoclast should go on there too...anyone I missed? 2
Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I think Quota needs another entry, and Deathwish definitely needs to be added. Iconoclast should go on there too...anyone I missed? I think Quicksilver was on the original list. (And though his murder of a guard was retconned, in my heart Reader will always be on the ATTD list. ) And of course, Impact will probably wind up on the list depending on how her Portland visit goes.

Right, Quicksilver. And I don't know; should murder be the sole qualifier? Reader is enough of an unrepentant slontze that I think he could merit an entry. Neverthere was on the last update too, I think. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Right, Quicksilver. And I don't know; should murder be the sole qualifier? Reader is enough of an unrepentant slontze that I think he could merit an entry. Neverthere was on the last update too, I think. Hmm... good question. I would say that unrepentant glee at causing atrocities should be the primary qualifier. So Fortuity would go on the list but not Firefight, and Regalia would go on the list but not Newton. It's a list for Epics who are shown to revel in their corruption, as opposed to Epics who have been corrupted but are not particularly extreme about it. At least, that's how I've been viewing it. 1
The epic Epic Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 So what do you guys think of "The Human Puddle". He will have to power to turn himself into a puddle but he can't control the water that he turns into. I'll go into more detail on his powers on the epics of Oregon page if I get a good response. That last sentence was totally a lie, whether or not you guys like him I'm putting him there. 2

Makes sense. So would glee at stirring up dissent qualify, or would his actions need some more serious fallout for that to happen? Epic Epic: Nice! Are you joining the RP?
Kobold King he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Makes sense. So would glee at stirring up dissent qualify, or would his actions need some more serious fallout for that to happen? I don't think so. He stirs up dissent, but apart from one deleted scene he doesn't actually have any felonies to his name. (Unless he has a habit of tampering with City Guard mail that I don't know about.) So I'd say Reader should be currently off the list, but held in reserve just in case. So what do you guys think of "The Human Puddle". He will have to power to turn himself into a puddle but he can't control the water that he turns into. Mckeedee123 he/him Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 It'd be cool to have her face off against Quicksilver. Speaking of which, we need to bring him back to the forefront for The Dalles' Day Two.
The epic Epic Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Have you seen Sky High, by any chance? I saw it once a long time ago but the powers aren't exactly the same, they're way better. And the powers weren't based on it in any way.

Iconoclast should go on there too...anyone I missed? Blackwave was on there twice, once for each of his posts. And he should probably be on there again for his most recent post. Have you seen Sky High, by any chance? Well, that was one of the few Sky High characters we didn't kill, so I think Ouddle is okay. 1

You might want to introduce this one in the new, possibly-upcoming low-level Epics city. How and where can he reform? (This could potentially be a pretty useful power, actually.) The epic Epic Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Have you read any of the threads? (I'm guessing not.) You might want to introduce this one in the new, possibly-upcoming low-level Epics city. How and where can he reform? (This could potentially be a pretty useful power, actually.) After he evaporates he can use the water in the atmosphere to create copies of himself. Or he can just reform his body right where he became a puddle in the first place.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Does he take Items with Him? (Such as clothing or Weapons?) How many Items can he take with him? Could he take Plants/Animals/People/Epics?

Mckeedee123 he/him Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 After he evaporates he can use the water in the atmosphere to create copies of himself. Or he can just reform his body right where he became a puddle in the first place. Shame. What I was thinking was maybe that he could reform at any one of the droplets created by his splatter. This would give him three main abilities by de facto: Imperveability: At the first sign of danger (gunshot, etc.) Puddle could form into a puddle for a fraction of a second, then reform, allowing bullets or shrapnel to pass through the puddley form of his body without doing damage. Short-range teleportation: Puddle could jump up into the air and then puddle himself, which would create a large spatter of water when he hit the ground that would probably extend about 20 feet in any direction. He could reform at any of these droplets, disorienting enemies. Immunity to fall damage: Puddle could fall from literally any height and simply puddle himself just before he hit, creating a huge spatter and giving him an almost limitless range of droplets to choose to reform from _______________________ What would make him even more powerful is if he took his weapons with him into puddle form... 1
The epic Epic Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Not sure. I think he's too weak for Astoria though.
Mckeedee123 he/him Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) Not sure. I think he's too weak for Astoria though. This guy is surprisingly OK. He's not city-ruling material, but it'd probably be fine to introduce him to Salem as a new Epic (The Dalles is getting a little Epic-crowded) Edited June 4, 2015 by Mckeedee123 1
Blackhoof Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) This has inspired me to create another Epic: It'd be cool to have her face off against Quicksilver. haha that would be cool. Is Quicsilver just a straight metal manipulator or does he have more powers thsn that? Right, Quicksilver. And I don't know; should murder be the sole qualifier? Reader is enough of an unrepentant slontze that I think he could merit an entry. Neverthere was on the last update too, I think. we should give some leeway since, Epics being Epics, they can't help it if the corruption causes them to kill once or twice. The worst of the worst should go on the ATTD list. So he can't move when in puddle form, of his own free will? Is he aware if his surroundings when he does? Can someone drink him and then he reform inside them? also, if you wanted to elevate him to High Epic status (although we have enough if those running around already ), you could tie his puddling to a danger sense, so he puddles whenever something is about to hit him. TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 we should give some leeway since, Epics being Epics, they can't help it if the corruption causes them to kill once or twice. The worst of the worst should go on the ATTD list. That's what we've been doing. Nighthound and the Trifecta enjoy committing atrocities, so they went straight to the List. Arsenal, who is a colossal grouch and likes to show off his powers, but does it out of a sense of pride in his position, hasn't even been considered for it. 1
Shattered he/him Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I believe that The Human Puddle is intended to be a prime individual, lurking off in a lair somewhere, forming an army of duplicates. The Puddle Brigade, if you will.
Voidus Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Awesome! I am going to make a fight post in Salem. If things keep taking a while in the Dalles and Portland I might accelerate Salem to morning time soon since there's currently no crossover so that could be possible. I'll wait for Voidus' OK before I introduce her or anything. Definitely ok by me, I look forward to seeing her, it's night time at the moment but as I said if everyone agrees then I might move Salem to morning and get some fights started. You could make a whole thread for terrible Timeport pickup lines. "Hey baby. You've been running through my mind all night... screaming." "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven? It'll hurt even more when I send you back." "You've been running through my mind all night... but I'm swiftly gaining on you." This is hilarious and also terrible. Hilerible I guess? Anyway, well done. With all the trouble I'm having tracking down the ATTD list, I'm beginning to wonder if Quota found a way to purge it from the forum. And Then They Died Revised and Updated Criteria: To be placed on this list, an Epic must exhibit not only callousness, but a longstanding commitment to atrocities. The Epic in Question must be not only consistently portrayed as ruthless, but as enjoying their ruthlessness. Said Epic must glory in things decent societies deem reprehensible, including (but by no means limited to): torture, murder, sexual harassment, psychological manipulation (including subjecting a family member to reprehensible acts in order to gain control of someone), stalking, etc. Epics on this list must have demonstrably crossed the Moral Event Horizon, preferably with an evil laugh and/or creepy remark as they plummeted into the abyss. Who knows? I was just making a suggestion, so there's no need to make this a thing, Epic.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted June 4, 2015 Author Posted June 4, 2015 Ahhhh, I knew it was around here somewhere. Thanks, Voidus! Also, I think the term to describe Timeport's pickup lines is "horriblarious." A combination of "horrible" and "hilarious" that is every bit as awful as those lines. 2
