So as we all probably know by now, next year Alcatraz 1-4 are going to be re-released by Tor (with the 5th coming soon after).  As part of the new editions new covers were commissioned, as well as a map and other interior art.  Until now we really haven't heard very much about this new art but I just found what I think is cover concepts and other sketches from them.  The artist is Scott Brundage, and he posted the following images on his tumblr today with the caption "Unused cover finals and test sketches for Brandon Sanderson’s Alcatraz series."

I for absolutely love these, and I hope it's an indication of the final products.

But when we will randomly go to space in the second book now???

(These are good, though. Can't wait to see the final ones if these are the unused ones.)

This looks good :) Far better than the current covers, which are sooo unnatural and look like a product of a kid playing with photoshop.

Those are a lot of fun--I'm excited for the finished product. I particularly love Bastille's expressions.

Thanks for posting these Weiry
