Delightful Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Can you put anything in skinny jeans pockets?
Briar King Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Yeah but you can't hide throwing stars in skinny jeans. You can in JNCO's and even look good while flipping and flinging. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Yeah but you can't hide throwing stars in skinny jeans. You can in JNCO's and even look good while flipping and flinging. ....how often does throwing ninja stars come up in your life? 1
Briar King Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Maybe you ll learn for yourself if you get that Louisiana job! How else do you expect to fend off swamp creatures in style? 4
Claincy he/him Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Ah yes jeans, I don't wear those. Aside from not having a particular desire to wear them I've never found any that actually fit. I'm not particularly tall but nonetheless any jeans I find that are long enough for me are far too wide around the waist On a separate note: While I wasn't particularly pleased that my new laptop was faulty on arrival I certainly can't fault Dell's customer support. In related news I now have a working laptop. 2
Kaymyth she/her Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I definitely prefer the looser fit, too. Skinny jeans are so hard to find just the right fit--either they're too loose so you might as well not be wearing skinny jeans, or they're so tight you end up with muscle damage. I miss flares from the early 2000s. Though, surprisingly enough, I actually found the average JNCOs pictured kind of appealing. The early 2000 flares were the best. I have to confess, it's so hard for me to find jeans that fit me well (I don't have much of a natural hourglass shape at all) that I actually get the best results at thrift stores. Huge selection of cuts and styles all organized by size. I can find 5x the number of jeans that fit well and are in good condition in half the time as what I can find at a retail store. That's if I find anything at standard retail that fits at all. (So few brands acknowledge that my waist-hip-thigh ratio actually exists. It's maddening.)

I'll need to start checking thrift stores a little more, then. I've been sticking with Plato's Closet, but since most of the stuff they have is only a year or so old, it means there's a lot of skinnies. It's a bit of an uphill battle to find bootcuts, let alone anything resembling a flare. Then again, since my city has a larger-than-average population of retirees, I might have even worse luck at thrift stores.
The Honor Spren she/her Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) I'd be moving there from Arizona, and while I've never experienced a Louisiana summer, I can say that Arizona summers are pretty bad. (If one more person says "At least it's a dry heat" when the thermometer reads 117, I am going to go full Epic. ) That said, I've heard the humidity makes it all the worse.No.I don't think you quite understand. It gets to 105 regularly during the summer seasons. But dry heat makes all the difference. There's always that one week here when a hurricane/tropical storm passes by, barely missing us. The humidity stays at 95% that whole week. When you swipe your hand through the air, you can feel the resistance added by water. I visited my grandparents in Arizona once. They had a backyard barbecue and it was 105. But it was only 30% humidity. It felt so great. Just a comfortable heat to me. It didn't feel sweaty at all. DRY HEAT REALLY DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Sorry about that. I have strong opinions where humidity is concerned. Edit: and about skinny jeans pockets, I only have one thing to say. Orlion Blight he/him Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I remember Arizona summers. They weren't that bad

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 The American Canine Association sent me Bruce's registration form recently. I may or may not have registered my dog as Bruce Wayne Batpug. 6
Kobold King he/him Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 The American Canine Association sent me Bruce's registration form recently. I may or may not have registered my dog as Bruce Wayne Batpug. TwiLyght! Certainly you didn't give away his secret identity that easily! 3
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 TwiLyght! Certainly you didn't give away his secret identity that easily! No, but that's the brilliance of it! You see, if I had registered him as something mundane, the ACA folks would've suspected something. But when they get his form announcing him as Bruce Wayne Batpug, they'll laugh at all future evidence connecting Bruce to the mysterious Snort Knight. It's the perfect disguise. 2
Silverblade5 he/him Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 There wasn't much on the rant thread today. 2

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I found a really good, awesome coloured lipstick. What color?
Delightful Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 It's sort of purple/maroonish, not super dark but not super light either. I've only tried bright colours before, but the darker shade goes so much better with my skin tone.

I don't really wear lipstick—chapstick is so much less work and my lips get sore easily—but I'm glad you found one that looks good on you.
Delightful Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) I usually don't wear any either, but it's nice to dress up every now and then. Thank you Edited December 7, 2015 by Delightful
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Just sent off the materials for the Kansas City, Kansas position. If I'm under qualified, they'll presumably send me an email with a picture of an upraised middle finger. 1
